LOVE Myths Man. Very fortunate to have a bottle before it was discontinued. Now I wish I had a back-up. Not sure I want to pay after-market asking price, as there are so many other perfumes I want to acquire. Great review, Ramsey. Spot on description. It truly is an artistic masterpiece.

They are starting to go mainstream. My local Amouage guy said they had their best sales year in 2023 so there is no incentive to return to form. More of these jazzed up and amped up (example interlude 53, reflection 45) bottles are coming in 2024. New Extrait meander and guidance are coming. Guidance has made them a truckload of money

Brilliant creation, unique and glorious! I want this type of creativity back! Not Meander, Enclave and other disappointments. I feel like I said this many times, but that’s how I feel. Hope they won’t discontinue other stuff in the future. Thanks for reviewing this!

Christopher Chong did say that he is not going recreate what he did at Amouage. Which I think is understandable. It doesn’t seem like the split was… good. I imagine he wants to move on. HOWEVER, I think it’s notable that no one was really talking about Thameen before Chong arrived. And now their newest releases, under Chong, FINALLY have people really talking about them. I don’t know if the new releases are interesting or adventurous as I have not smelled them, yet, but I think it’s telling that Thameen is finally getting more attention. That is definitely not a coincidence. Amouage’s loss is Thameen’s gain.

You describe my experience exactly. Hated it on first try, came back to my sample months later and it was almost like a different fragrance. One of my favorite Amouages, crazy that they discontinue things like this, Sunshine Man and Bracken Man, but happy to have found a bottle of each.

Wow you are spot on about the fact that Incense and Ash are notes that are associated alot. Infact the scent of Incense remind me of the creamy feel you get from rubbing ash between your fingers.

I didn't know this was discontinued, no wonder I couldn't find it anywhere 😅 Danger pour homme parfum has a very similar orris note to my nose, though I prefer this one overall

Got myself a bottle yesterday and it is awesome! I do not get what the disaffection for this is all about. In the same ballpark as Interlude Man. It is more wearable than Interlude Man for me. Wearing it in the office at the moment and I feel like the Boss. This is the kind of scent you wear to make a statement. It's not bashful, just bold and confident. I found about 10 bottles on discount at my local perfume shop and snatched one up.

i wasn't sure you'd ever do a separate review on this like you did, but when i saw this on my feed i was like stop everything, put my dinner on the warmer, shut out the world 🤣. this is the one that proves how special Amouage is to me, or at the least was. i love the freaking hell out of myths, and I'm one of the select few prob who feels like this really suits me too like yourself perhaps. cant say much that you didn't say here, agree with everything. its funny, I'm not wealthy, i run a butcher shop so buying a bunch of niche fragrances would be by most peoples standards a financial absurdity haha. but i always justified buying Amouages to myself by saying "well, at the least they'll hold their value if not increase in value if i get into hard times". but dude, testers are going for almost $400 dollars now lmao! i never would have thought from all the idiots calling this a "nightmare" and "burnt piss" ect a few years ago. this is the fragrance that learned me about the investing aspect of fragrances, if you can call it that. thank you for the review dude, this is why you're the best fragrance reviewer on youtube!

What an unique creation! Gives me the imagery of a mythical dragon bursting fire over a Japanese village and there’s cherry blossom tree in the middle. Ashy, woody, floral. Shame Amouage discontinued this masterpiece.

These lesser known Amouage scents like Myths man, Imitation man and Portrayal man are some of my favorites. Too bad they get replaced with more common and boring ones. Great review as usual Ramsey

I remember the feeling of needing to sneeze 🤕 🤧 the times I wore it , so I failed to appreciate it I feel my nose has matured ever so slightly and I am ready for it now. 😅

So sad that I didn't get the chance to try this one until just a few weeks ago. It would've been an instant purchase if it were still available. Oh well, I'll cherish the decant I was able to get and hope that it turns up somewhere else.

I agree with you on the part that Amouage fragrance with the previous creative director was more unique more complicated and rich is smell which makes it worth the money. however did it cross your mind that making only this type of fragrance make it Christopher Chong fragrance rather than Amouage fragrance. if you see the perfumes before Christopher Chong I assume they are near or in the same range for complexity as the currant one. non the less, I totally agree that these new fragrance doesn't suit me and not so rich and unique. just something I wanted to share

I wish I could get a bottle of this one. I only have a decant. 😔 I love the ash note in it. The chrysanthemum, for me, pulls the ash away from smelling like a cigarette. And the dry down is so smooth. Damn it’s so good. I can’t believe they discontinued this. I do have a 50ml bottle of Myths Woman. I like it but it’s not as fun as Myths Man. IMO. My favorite Amouage is Imitation Woman. One of Chong’s last releases and I made sure to grab a couple bottles from the original batches. I also absolutely adore Love Mimosa(another final release from Chong) which has now been discontinued. There are not many Mimosa heavy frags out there either and it’s one of my favorite notes in feminine perfume. Such a loss for spring time feminine fragrances. My god, I hate this Fishman.🤬 *My SOTD is Amouage Library Opus III. *Is it just me or were the write ups soooo much better under Christopher Chong? The write ups under Fishman sound so ass on head pretentious. “Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.” - But it’s a correct opinion! 😂

What a coincidence, that’s my SOTD and after getting 7 2ML samples from fnet, I finally got a 100ml bottle, which is arriving soon. That’s my favorite Amouage among 10-12 I’ve tried so far!! That’s a masterpiece!!!

W version is very very nice too, but I prefer M one because it is Magnificent! Do I get ash? Not sure, maybe if I really want to stretch it, mostly smoky. A winter coat smells like this after coming home in a very polluted city... but what I also immediately I get is some dead-sterile hospital air. Like you know those UV lamps that they use to sterilize some rooms? Such rooms have a very particular smell to them and this is what I immediately get when smelling Myths M. By the way it was a love from the first sniff, nothing unwearable about it, total bs

Ramsey, sorry to spam you but i have a question for you regarding Epic Man. I just got today a bottle of epic with a non magnetic cap, i believe it's a 2009 batch. I expected some sort of heavy spiced smokey oriental fragrance with animalic influences but what i get is just a fresh green spicy fragrance. I'm already 4 hours in and all i can smell is a fresh green scent , no oud, no castoreum, no smoke, none of that. This i would say it's 90% similar to the epic man from 2021. Is this how Epic man always was? fresh green? or did i got myself a crocked bottle

Myths Woman also has a chrysanthemum note. Other than that (and the packaging) these two fragrances have little in common. Myths Woman is fascinating and worth a try, but I don't love it as much as Myths Man.

I have found both Sunshine man and Myths man here in norway for the good amount of 2500NOK (237 USD) and can't decide which one I want the most. Sunshine is about 99% full and Myths is about 90% full. Which do recommend the most out of those 2 considering they are both discontinued?

I like Amouage "Myths Man". In the spring/summer of last year, I felt inspired to try a lot more Amouage fragrances than the pretty small amount I had tried by that time. "Myths Man" was one of the many I had sampled. I didn't like it at first, but I ended up liking it by my second or third wearing of it. Unfortunately, I was under a budget constraint last year, so I missed my chance of getting a full bottle of it. I'll have to enjoy the two samples of it I got last year. I know to not wear it in humidity, so that will help me extend the amount of time I have it in my possession. I can see how it slightly resembles "Interlude Man", but I think of it as unique. I would also describe it as rich and even somewhat classic-leaning. I hope they bring it back.

I would kill for a bottle of Myths man. I absolutely love artistic fragrances and i'm sad that i missed this one. But gladly i've got Figment 50ml a 2018 batch. The new creative direction is a total dumba*s, what did he do after he came? Changed bottle design, moving the names from the sides and neck to the front...which makes bottles look cheaper, then he changed the packaging, making everything look corporate and cheaper, then...he reformulated and watered down every Chong's fragrance, just to make the old ones seem weaker than his new releases, then..he discontinued gems like: bracken, figment, myths, gold. Sad what Amouage has come to

Amouage has gone down to the level of Parfums de Marly, Montale.. L'oreal still needs to buy it and it's a disaster.

I recently sampled Silver Oud. Such a sad and dull fragrance. It's not terrible, but it's not nuanced. Don't get me started on the other ones with the terrible names like Meander. Sad to see Myths and other old Amouage get chopped only to be replaced with King Blue. In addition to the mediocre releases, they butchered a lot of my favs with bad reformulations. Current Jubilation XXV is nothing like I remember sampling years ago. I was so disappointed when I got the new bottle. I guess they want us to spend $500 for Jubilation 40. I'll spend my money on older formulations. This used to be my favorite house and now I have no interest in any of their releases.

Man I've always loved my Colognes but, the way you give your take on them is just Outstanding. I have many from House of Amouage, and Myths is next and it's been on the list for a while. If you don't give a Cologne/Perfume a chance you'll miss the intricacies of the whole composition, and that's what people don't understand. You can't judge it from just sniffing it from the atomizer. In most cases with me, I can tell by the notes because I know what I like.....Rum, Whiskey, Congac, Wine, Rose, Lily, Labdinum,Frankincense, Leather, Oppopinax, Elemi, Olibanum, Amber, Musk, Myrrh, Patchouli, Castoreum, Civet, Sandalwood, Oud,.......ETC. So I can appreciate how you explain a Fragrances process and the mention of when to wear certain ones too. Great, Great Video Brother! Like you, I made the mistake of just getting the 50ml bottle. 🥲 Just remedied that a few weeks ago with a 100ml to match the rest of my Amouage collection, and especially since it’s discontinued and getting harder to find! Luckily, prices don’t seem to be going up yet (if you can find it). Paid less than half price. 💪🏻
