I recently converted to Ampeg amps from Fender Amps. I'll give Fender credit where credit is do and say that they make a great product. I'm a Fender Guy when it comes to bass and guitar as I use both Fender and Squier basses and guitars. I had A fender rumble100 v3 that I used at home and as a practice amp and a Bassman 400 stack unit for my band. I traded in the Rumble 100 and used the $ to buy a BA-110. The BA-110 kicks the Rumble 100s ass in every way! ilove it! then I traded in my Fender bassman 400 unit. I needed something Powerful and affordable to use for my band and Gigs so I bought a BA-210v2. 450 watts of pure power. I would have love to get an svt classic unit but at this time I cant afford one. I couldn't be happier with the BA amps I have. They aren't an SVT but they have a very similar tone and that's what I wanted.
I have the Ba210 and the thing sounds killer! My only complaint about it is that it’s pretty heavy and hard to get in and out of the house. But other than that it’s an amazing amp and I’m really happy with it!
looking for something like this i play a lot of gigs as a guitar player and after years of playing bought a bass and have really enjoyed it i think the 40watt one is for me thanks for helping me decide
Hi Dino. Just to clarify something, will the BA-210 keep up with a hard rock band without an extension speaker at rehearsal? The Ampeg website states that it is 283W@ 8 ohms, and with an extension speaker 450W@4ohms. So will 283W be enough power? As I would prefer not to have to take an extension speaker to rehearsal. The guitar player has an 80W Marshall power amp; he doesn't necessarily use it at full volume, but enough to keep up with the drummer? Thanks
Hard to say really. It really all depends on what volume you guys rehearse at. Remember, it IS a combo amp. If you guys aren't hitting really hard, it should be fine. But if you're planning on rehearsing a performance level volumes, you're probably going to have a hard time. Remember this, it's not always about the power. For bass, you have to move air! To move air, you've got to have either speaker surface, or a cabinet that can move a lot of air. The more speaker surface or cabinet you've got, that's where the "more power" comes in.
I recently ordered a used ba110 ampeg amp and the speaker makes a buzzing sound . I hit up guitar center and was explaining what was going on and the lady hung up on me . so I went througn pay pal because I want a refund on that amp . I did order the ampeg analog bass preamp pedal and I love that pedal and it will be the main piece in my arsenal . but if I can get my refund on the amp then im going with the ba 115 . im also a fan of hartke so im sure the ampeg bass preamp pedal will do just fine on a hartke amp. I do love the solid low end tone that you can get from the ampeg ba models . If I cant find the right priced ba 115 then I'll go with the hartke 15 amd use my ampeg analog bass preamp pedal with that . they both sound great on my Jackson JS3Q bass . im just getting tired of guitar centers bullshit and I may switch and go with sweetwater or reverb . Im sure they cant be any worse than guitar center
@@colusa193 yeah they're not bad little amps . I ordered my ampeg analog preamp with it and its got a great tone . almost sounds like im playing through a 15 inch speaker
