A strange, intermittent issue with my Ampex TBC-80, which is the time base corrector originally sold with the Ampex VPR-80 1" type C videotape recorder.
The problem is present in both EE mode and playback. Pressing the bypass button on the TBC does not solve the problem, so my guess is that the issue is with the Video Input board, but I could very well be wrong.
It shows up on the waveform monitor with normal levels, but the vectorscope image shows intermittent 180 degree phase shifts, which are visible on the video monitor in the video.
The source signals are from a known perfect Videotek VSG-201 color sync generator.
Any ideas?
