A great dance roll from the 1930's played by The Sherry Brothers, aka Frank Milne, played from an original Ampico roll.
If you had a lot of money in the 1920-1930's, you could afford a grand piano with an Ampico or Duo-Art player in it like this one. As it was, only the very rich could afford an instrument such as this. In those days, a 7ft grand piano like this with a player system would cost somewhere in the $7,000+ range.
With the New Ari Isaac "Cadenza S" hammers. www.isaacpiano.com

Only a superior M & H could put a sound as grand and glorious as this piano has right at this moment!! Absolutely marvelous in every way !

Thanks for your kind comments. This 1925 M&H RBB is a wonderful sounding piano, and is a great example of the quality M&H was able tp produce during that time period. Yes, the Ampico system is in very good shape after it's complete rebuild.

I m a retired piano tuner. You really take good care of this piano. It plays and sounds wonderful. This is a nice version of a great tune, by the master composer.

This player system and the piano are the best sounding I have found on youtube. It sounds wonderful. The player system must be fine tuned to perfection, and the piano has a beautiful balanced sound.

Amazingly, I have the original bill of sale for my Mason & Hamlin 1926 RBB and it was $26,500. I not sure that's what the original owner paid but it sounds about right since, the M&H was the world's most expensive piano. Anyway, it plays like this what you are hearing.

This is just one example of the proof (not that it is needed) that Irving Berlin was the greatest songwriter of all time.

You, along with most of the public, have been deceived to believe that all of the music published by Irving Berlin's company, were actually composed by him. The truth is, (and I have this personally from an old colleague who worked with me in a music firm back in the 1960s,) he BOUGHT songs composed by others (who were down on their luck) for his company. This actually happened to my friend, long dead, as with many of his fellow composers of the time. Nonetheless, this is a wonderful song and this particular arrangement is my favorite, lingering long after the hearing.

@@quickfoxxes I have much sheet music from Irving Berlin's publishing company in my sheet music collection ("Irving Berlin, Inc.", as well as his earlier house "Waterson, Berlin & Snyder", which continued without him after about 1915 when he left to form the aforementioned company). I will hasten to write that all these sheets are credited to various composers BESIDES Mr. Berlin (although of course he had a great number of his own compositions published). So, I wouldn't be too quick to accuse him of stealing other people's tunes without checking copyright records and the published sheet music first. He also did/does certainly have a recognizeable composing style, despite having many "musical secretaries" over the years (including Cliff Hess, Ted Eastwood, Arthur Johnston and many others) who faithfully took down the melodies he picked out by ear on the piano, and also fed him many different possible chords for each note or passage, with Berlin himself picking out the ones that 'sounded best' to him, to be put in the final piece.

These hammers are much better than Renner's .
@j.davidtaylor2565
@j.davidtaylor2565 9 месяцев назад
There is a dealer in Arizona that does lots of M&H rebuilds and because they are next door to Renner they always put the Renner blue points in those pianos and they sound yucky. The Ari Isaac Cadenza hammers in this piano are perfect

You cant beat a well regulated ampico B and you cant beat a good Mason & Hamlin in top condition!!
