There is so much more that can be discussed in this scenario, but I will comment on a few things. One is to focus on gaining stability, strength, and prosthetic limb tolerance to the amputated side as much as possible. Often times patient with difficulties in both limbs can actually have their prosthetic limb be the "good" side. If the limb can take weight and can develop balance, it can be better than the non-amputated side which may have joint issues, neuropathy, skin issues, etc. In the early stages after amputation, you need to ensure that the intact limb is still addressed with pain relieving strategies, stretching, and strengthening. During this time it will receive more stress, but with training more weight can be shifted to the prosthetic side. Hope this helps!

Hi congrats for your project! I'am physiotherapst in rehabilitation center in Brazil and work with amputee and prescription and gait training in prtostetics pacients. I rehab center we use the same protocol for reahabilitation. We would like contact with your center for exchange experiences in rehab ! We are a center of research in nerological rehabilitaiton and prostetic ans orthosis. Congrats agindo for your work.
