I have a BF6030 and love it. Super functional and tough. These are real safes, not cheap storage lockers. Would love to have a BF2, but maybe in the future. Buy once, cry once!

Safes/good RSC, are the ultimate buy once cry once purchase, and the last place you want to cheap out. The BFII series not expensive at all compared to others, but will keep all but determined pros with tools and time out.

Aaron, yes I think the AMSEC safe is a pretty good safe. And I like the idea of their dry lite insulation as far as making for a tough safe. However, and I considered an AMSEC safe before I made up my mind to purchase a Fort Knox safe, the dry lite insulation does give off moisture in a fire situation as does type x sheetrock. By the time you are able to get to your guns you are going to have rust { depending on how hot and long the safe was in a fire } where Fort Knox uses precise cut c type sheetrock which does not give off moisture as it heats. Also, I have several issues with the door design of the AMSEC safe. I do like how much tighter their doors are fitted to the body as compared with my Fort Knox safe. So what I did to my safe is on the opposite side from the hinges I installed an inch and a half X 1/8 piece of steel on the door frame using 11 #10 X 1/2 inch 10/32 stainless steel screws in order to close the gap where a duffus thief is going to attempt to pry the door open. I did not put any of the steel on top of the door frame nor the bottom as they are simply too difficult to pry at those points. But two things leap out at me regarding the door. One, AMSEC should refrain from using those plastic grommets around the locking bolts !!! Two, I think that the place they put the insulation should be as thick as the walls of the safe and they should look to the design of the Fort Knox safe, where Fort Knox has all of their fire insulation towards the outside of the door, only incased at that point by 10 ga. steel, which is " where " you want the insulation. And one thing I really like about Fort Knox is what is inside their doors. Their doors are HEAVY DUTY MAMMY JAMMERS. The guts of the Fort Knox door is truly impressive. Yeah, there is some room for improvement with the lower end models. But for my money their fire rating is something you can believe in. And unlike Hollon safes I was able to get a pretty colorful and attractive safe with FN. As you can with AMSEC as well. Anyway, that's my two cents worth. Signed, Doug.

Fort Knox makes a nice safe. I’ve always liked them. My personal stuff is in an Amsec. I like those too.

I've not heard of DryLight causing a lot of moisture damage. There are safes using DryLight that have attained the 1 hour 1700F as well as the 2 hour 1850F UL 350 rating, which is centered on paper documents protection and involves an inspection for evidence of moisture damage. There are some other AmSec safes that use fire board, where moisture damage would be expected, but I would not expect it on a safe using a DryLight fill. DryLight doesn't do a tremendous amount for security, however, as it's a relatively lower density composite material compared to say the stuff that is used on the AMVAULT or in a Graffunder, which is crazy dense.
@parkerssafes
@parkerssafes Год назад
@@RDROff Great comment. The concrete in an American Security RF or AMVAULT is actual 12,000 psi concrete. The stuff in a Graffunder is more like the DryLite that Amsec uses.

Nice video. Yeah most safes don't even meet TL15 real security standards. Even Liberty has changed their marketing for the second time post covid. Not sure why. Thank you for giving us real safes. Do you have a website so I can investigate further? Only very very few meet UL Listed TL15 or higher ratings.

It is quite clear the BFII will offer you more protection then the original BF series. One thing I can not understand is why the thicker steel is on the inside ? Wouldnt it make more sense to have it on the outside to stop attackers dead in their tracks instead of them possibly getthing through the thinner outside layer only to be stopped with the thicker inside layer ? With that thinner layer of steel outside you will have way more damage to your safe from pick axes and penetrating tools that you would never have if the thick steel was on the outside. Just a thought. I guess I question everything.
@parkerssafes
@parkerssafes 3 года назад
I see your point but I like that thicker steel on the inside because working on the the thicker steel from inside the opening they'd have to make in the concrete would seem to be much more difficult than if it was the first layer.

Hi Aaron, how do you compare these to the Champion/Superior on the high end models? Quality and price? Or what safe is better than all three for the money? Which one would you get?
@parkerssafes
@parkerssafes 3 года назад
I’d buy an American Security safe before I’d even consider a Champion or Superior. In my opinion, Champion and Superior have dropped off the charts as it relates to quality and workmanship. My personal stuff is in an American Security if that helps. I’m not a dealer for Fort Knox but I do like their products as well. If your budget is not limited, Graffunder comes to mind.

3 questions for you Mr. Parker. 1. How much does that model cost? 2. How deep is it externally? And 3. Does the top and bottom have the same cross section of steel and concrete?
@parkerssafes
@parkerssafes 3 года назад
Greetings, The BFII would be around 4900. It's 26 inches deep. To the best of my knowledge, the top and bottom are the same as the walls. I can check the bottom the next time that we unbolt one from the pallet but the literature leads me to believe that it is the same as the top and sides. Good question. Thanks.

@@MercierPRM They have an updated BFX available which I purchased six months ago has some very nice upgrade features. With the sale, tax, delivery and install mine was around $7K. I got the last one at my local safe dealer. They can't keep them in stock and they are currently waitlisted. The BFX is very impressive and I haven't had any issues. I will add that depending on where you live, you're going to need a couple of EvaDry's to help absorb humidity. The seal of the door is solid and it will trap humidity.

Hi Aaron, great videos! Im in the market and im curious that If you had to rate an Amsec BF 6030, and the Fort knox Executive 6030. which would you say is a better value and safer safe. Using comparable. Specs. Thanks in advance and much appreciated.

@parkerssafes 3 года назад
Well, I'm a little biased as I'm not a Fort Knox dealer. They make a great safe but I really like the concrete type lining in an AMSEC as compared to the drywall in the Fort Knox. They are both great safes and have outstanding reputations.

The "concrete" in this case is basically worthless as far as burglary resistance you can easily break it apart with just a screwdriver. It's excellent for fire protection though. Thankfully the two layers of steel, with the substantial steel being the liner, gives pretty decent resistance. The BF2 is almost certainly the best bang for the buck out there.
@parkerssafes
@parkerssafes 2 года назад
That may be true but it would still have to be chipped out and removed before the inner liner could be cut away. It's still much better than drywall as it relates to security.

Where can I finance one?
@asuarezjd
@asuarezjd Год назад
Hey! I had Affirm finance some diamonds and before that an Air Conditioner and Furnace. It used to be that that merchant had to have the option of selling to you after getting AFFIRM's approval and then Affirm would pay them. Hence, you were limited to the merchants who accepted it. Now, Affirm (and perhaps others) can indirectly finance it. They included an option of whatever money they say you qualify to shop, to get it in a virtual VISA. So, say for example you want to buy a $7,500 safe, they approve you and you have a virtual VISA number and code that you use to pay in this case Parker Safes. It is seamless for the store since they just got a customer that paid with a VISA and they get their money. You obviously let Affirm know what and where you will use it. So, like buying with a credit card.
