Nicole is so measured and eloquent. Amy is so lively and energetic. Both are such incredible actors, two of the best in the game, yet both are so humble and kind. Absolute class.
Still remember, during late 2000s, 'Nicole' was labeled as box-office poison and they said her career was over; Amy was mentioned as one-hit wonder for her OSCAR nomination for Junebug and they even commented that she can only play wide-eyed bubbly characters even though Enchanted was a big hit. To all the haters of the past, present, and future, 'Amy' and 'Nicole' are the most versatile, intelligent, incredibly talented, genuinely humble (even though they have massive star powers!), constantly hardworking actresses of their generation. It's such an inspiration to witness these ladies proving the haters' comments are all wrong not with words but via their bold choices and their impeccable performances throughout the years. You haters need to suck these facts up for the rest of your negativity-filled lives. Our Queens ('Nic' and 'Amy') still keep on shining and brighter than ever! We love you, Queens!
God, please, PLEASE let these women act alongside one another. I don’t care if they play sisters, best friends, or even better I would love to see them play lovers, but just somebody cast them together.

We only get these tidbits because they are comfortable talking about it with a friend and colleague, not a reporter or talk show host where you are only there to promote the most recent movie you are in and nothing else.
I could listen to them speak to each other all day. They are so uplifting and supportive of each other. I do hope they have a chance to work together soon. I imagine the outcome would be amazing!

isn't it just the absolute best to watch two women talk to each other calmly, listening to each other, supporting each other, complimenting each other??? like 12/10 this interview could be 500 hours and I'd gladly watch it all. both women are fascinating and gorgeous all around

wow, both these women seem very honest. It's very cool to see Nicole Kidman talk about how she knows she's an "obedient girl" or someone who is a people pleaser. It's so refreshing to see someone as influential and idolized as Nicole talk about herself this way, really humanizes her and shows how celebrities are just people after all
I feel like they'll not campaign TWITW for Oscars knowing that it'll be showing in May. More likely, Netflix will push Hillbilly Elegy for Oscars in 2020 with her and Glenn Close.

I don’t know if this is just me, but I think Amy Adams is in her early 30’s. For some reasons, she just looks so young to be 45. Nicole, is of course, as equally gorgeous with Amy Adams. 2 beautiful human beings we’re watching. Isnt it.
Two women of strength, grace, courage, creativity and authenticity which I have looked up to my whole life. Thank you. Thank you for bringing these pure and powerful women together so beautifully. What a gift.
My ranking is: the others (probably her best movie too, timeless) dead calm (another good movie but so "80's thriller", breakout acting) to die for (great indie, remarkable acting) moulin rouge (I don't care even with faults is an iconic movie and performance, put musicals again on maps) rabbit hole (deeply sad but a true gem, top tier acting) birth (difficult but if you love her you will be mesmerized for her performance, the Opera scene..) and stoker (she needs to work with Park Chan Wook again, her "mother/daughter" monologue is A R T) not a movie but Celeste in the big little lies series is a top performance in "television" *She is in between my all time favorites* Guilty pleasure, far and away, days of thunder, practical magic even the pacemaker (doubtful Blockbusters) the paperboy (I can't decide if it was bad or good but I love her Pamela haha) OH! And eyes wide shut and the hours's acting are something special. You don't know if she is lead or supporting but whatever is she eats those roles and become a big part of these movies.
@@belenheredia2024 Yeah loved her in Moulin Rouge. I've seen all the movies you mentioned and then some, like Far and Away, which she was good in but Tom Cruise so was not. I'm a big ASkarsgard fan too, so Big Little Lies was a no brainer with two of my faves in it.

As a female director, I love love LOVE the conversation at 20:00 about the difficulty of being a female director and the current sexism in the industry against female directors. We need strong women like this to fight for female storytelling. Film is such a powerful medium that influences culture and perception, and when you only have men behind the camera, people (including women) start believing that the story of women are less important and less interesting.
bullshit, "female director" that's why people get piss off, you could have said "as a director" but no you had to state that you are female!, the only sexism that exists is the one woman create, you will never see a men say: male director, male actor, male doctor, etc.. woman are the ones that need to put gender first like it's more important or important at all, men have never gave a shit about gender they only care if you are good that's all.

It actually doesn't make sense to me that there aren't more women directors since a director has to be able to multitask and women are better at that, by far, than men.

2 of my favorite actresses speaking to each other about their craft. I stumbled upon this today on RU-vid and I'm very thankful. Amy and Nicole you are exceptional and I love all of your films. Filmmakers and/or directors please give these 2 women roles in the same film.
She did work with him twice and received Oscar nominations both times so I don't think she hates working with him. I think he was probably nice to her.
I gather she had a good experience on The Fighter, but then his behavior was "horrendous" to her on American Hustle (source: 2016 GQ interview). She cried almost every day. She said no matter how successful the film was, or how well her performance was received, the verbal abuse was not something she was okay with. "It really taught me how to separate work and home. Because I was like, I cannot bring this experience home with me to my daughter." Lily Tomlin has worked with Russell more than once too, and of course there was the famous leaked video of him screaming at her, calling her the C-word. At least publicly, she made nice; she said she still adores him and would work with him again. So it's an individual thing. But Russell's reputation, both as a good director and as a brutal screamer on set, is well earned.
2:21 Aww, Amy, you're adorable. And yes--SOMEBODY cast them together, ideally in a MUSICAL!!! Like Nicole notes at 16:00, Amy's voice is SO so beautiful.
You can tell how they're just both naturally outstanding actors, with Amy trying to grapple with going too deep into a performance yet being unable to stop it anyhow, and Nicole diving into exactly that.. it's almost like Amy can't help her art and Nicole has a hunger for it. Or Adams trying to run from pain but being unable to hide it in her work, which is so alluring, and Kidman embracing it, but in kind of a self destructive way. Both these actresses have given performances that shook me to my core, especially the gritty stuff. Completely different personalities and coping mechanisms yet so brilliant in their own right... the interview was so captivating to watch. I felt like the most interesting part started when it ended :D I'd kill to see them work on a darker toned project together, their approaches colliding and pulling each other deeper. Preferably a mini series, not just a movie.

Two of the most gifted actresses working today-and so refreshing to see how down to earth and charming they are. (I’ve also noticed that Nicole has, thankfully, stopped messing with her face, and looks better than ever. Amy hasn’t gone down that road & hopefully never will.)
Somebody put them together in a movie already! My goodness..two phenomenal actresses repeatedly saying how much they want to work together.. a director and writers need to get on this!
I love the relaxed manner they discussed very stressful mental issues that I have imagined in terror that actors must deal with. Within this discussion these classy ladies give a method on how they cope, the whole interview was soothing, they are A list all the way.
I don't know what it is but there is something so enjoyable about watching people compliment and love each other (almost competitively) for a half hour. It makes me feel good even though it has absolutely no bearing on my life
I *love* both these actresses. Amy is so likeable, and Nicole (who has been around for longer) has been in some classics. They're also both incredibly beautiful, I just wish Nicole would take it easy with the Botox, she doesn't need it. And Amy? Somebody give her an Oscar already! I look forward to their intense collaboration movie.

I have always admired these two actors, and now I love them even MORE! Two brilliant, wonderful women supporting each other. What an example they are for other female artists, and for all of us!

Kudos to whomever at Variety comes up with the pairings for this series!! 👑 I've yet to see one that didn't work, and in some instances (like this one and the Matthew McConaughey/Jeff Bridges episode) it feels like the participants are true soulmates (despite sometimes never having even met before). It's remarkable how well the format works, too. From a logistics standpoint you know there must be multiple cameras, a crew etc present out of shot, but the actors are generally so comfortable with each other, their discourse still ends up feeling really genuine? The absence of an intrusive Hollywood host/interviewer is especially appreciated, just lets the participants take their time & follow the random interesting things that spring to mind...
