I love this premise, especially with the fridge brilliant (tv tropes) moments that appear to have been thought out, that are consistent with the established PR universe: 1) The Command Centre has advanced, quasi-magical teleportation technology that can send rangers across the galaxy and dimensions; so of course it doesn't matter what the rangers are doing or what country they are in, they can instantly be at the Command Centre when needed (or even just to see their friends). 2) Zedd has a win condition with fully charged Serpentera, so why wouldn't he just use it to strike their home base? Here, he does 3) Why as the rangers aged, did they not encounter other villains (like the Machine Empire)? The answer might also be the fully charged Serpentera Zedd still has. In the show, Zedd used it to blow up the Deserted Planet. Having Death Star level-power in this universe appears game breaking. What if, in the canon show, Serpentera never actually recovered from the energy output needed to blow up that planet. Like going from a full charge, to a near empty one that can now only give a few minutes of use at a time? So while in the show, the Machine Empire and even Dark Spectre (who has been show to be able to be destroyed by a planet buster missile) could have steered clear of Zedd and his zone (including Earth) because they did not want to be the ones one-shotted. Only when they got word that Zedd lost his Ace did the Machines invade. But here, in this scenario, the rangers never needed to go to the Deserted Planet for the energy transfer. Serpentera never blew it up, so is still fully charged and thus it's threat keeps the other, future season villains away. 4) A love potioned Zedd right at the start might mean he was too distracted to bother with the initial attack in "The Mutiny" which led to the thunder zords. All of this would lead to the final fight on the moon between the original Mighty Morphin team and zords and Rita, Zedd and Serpentera; which apparently damaged the moon in the aftermath.
