RU-vid guidelines must say that I absolutely love that Blake guy!!! A lady who loved smokes beer & puff with some occasional X T C, then on the first hit he gives her crack & smack what a lovely lovely guy that he is, no wonder she looked so so happy in that photo from the AMY doco Wish that Blake guy all the best in life & eternal whatever... msacras msacras msacras
it’s sad and unbelievable at the same time, sad to watch her struggling with addiction and being drunk, performing in this state but unbelievable is that she still managed to sing like this… such a voice… she’s deeply missed
It's because she should still be here, imagine all the songs that would have come if she lived through her addiction and came out the other end. Very sad.
No, it's pretty obvious she was on heroin at the time of the performance. She has all the effects of using it: .twitching .slurring the words .every now and then her eyes would roll back
I was lured by the title "BEST LIVE". Why does it feel like we're not supposed to see this? My heart gets tight seeing her in such pain (and clearly not sober). So many people in front of her, and so much pain on her. Rest in peace.
Couldnt have said it better Missy. I was enjoying her amazing voice, even though she was obviously messed up. Not too many musicians can sound this good when they are drunk or high--I'll sure give her that. I totally LOVE her backup men,the way they dance and do backup vocals. They rock! Kinda makes me wonder if those dudes and her band ever got embarrassed by her vocals when she was drunk...they seem to work a little harder backing her up. Just a thought...dont mean to be rude. The lady is an amazing singer. I wished she wouldnt have passed away.
Elz J I think it was pretty obvious. It is interesting, but sad, that some of the best artists had serious problems, Amy, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, etc. RIP to them all.....
Yeah I guess the press would be having a field day. What I meant was would the papers after this performance write about her like drugs and that or her actual singing. Iguess it's pretty obvious
Nobody saw she was dying inside, nobody understood she was feeling so bad, in pain and terribly alone in front of a crowd watching the big "show". Rest in peace Amy, you will always be a Queen🌹
I think they all knew she was dying inside. Her unique and beautiful voice still drew the audience back. Addicts are always alone on their journey of self destruction, but people have hope..sometimes to the very end.
@@moosehead1183 Her voice was so full of sorrow and despair I could not enjoy this kind of singing. But I guess you are right, the show was going on....
How you know that sie was "suffering" because she was using substances?? I mean she was an Artist...right?? So..without These substances she maybe did not became that great musician Singer...with this fantastic voice!!!
@@BrigitteLuiseDornseifer-fd4cc drug addiction and an eating disorder isnt healthy or fun its full of pain and suffering but the most profound art can come from that place of suffering. but its just ignorant to say that drugs were a positive in her life

A huge song! Never mind all the sad background. She was talented and wonderful. I had the chance to see her live. Her voice was a gift and astonishing! The voice of an ANGEL.

Wow cool thank you so so much I was wondering where to get the lyrics. . So I gave it a try not sure if I'll find it and see taaraa I found you ! Thanks God may the universe blass you 😙
+Jonathan K. Shes one of a million singers that come along every decade or two. A real talented singer with raw emotions performing with her soul and giving a piece of her universe every time she sings to tell her mini stories.Basicly shared her entire life with the public and gave eveything she had at her own expense. She didnt give a shit about money. No fancy house,car,jewelery,clothes...None of that.Making a million per show, she was quite able to afford it.Singing was her medication and release.Otherwise she was haunted by many demons. She loved to sing and loved to perform on stage. But not for fame. She loved the energy she got from being loved. She longed for love.So much that she would invite anyone into her bed at the end of the day.She was quite lonely and scumbag Blake used her poisoned her married her for drug money and supported his family with amys money WITH the long term plan being to get a nice payoff from the divorce. When he said "I dont know what I was doing with her,Im a good lookin guy I got nice clothes,i dunno what I was thinking.... I felt like punching his frog mouth right thru the screen !!
+Danny Dell Very well observed. That's exactly what she wanted, just the love her father denied her by walking out the door when she was so very young and adored him so much. What's that going to do to anyone? May she rest in peace. Brilliant musician and poet.
Amy is not "tweaking out", or "drunk" at all in this video. This is her natural movements and her emotional reactions, to the music. I saw her live about 50 times, in America and England and all over Europe. And she went on stage nearly always sober. She was utterly amazing live. I am only commenting, because it gets tiring seeing people so focused on finding fault in her. Rather than simply being enthralled by her amazing voice and presence.
Simon Williams She was clean when she died..... she died due to alcohol.... which she had stopped drinking for awhile, but yeaahhhh it pretty much shocked her system.......
Simon Williams it was someone that drove her to drink and do drugs did u just listien to the song she just sang u need to listien it again obviously she just showed how much she was hurt Blake did that to her if u have ever been in love you would know how it feels and the love that she had for him that he didn't want drove her to this she drank away the pain and whatever else she did if u watched all the videos about her u would know her drinking and drugs took a horrific turn for the worse when he left her and then there's an interview u can quote me on this she said " I wrote these songs when I was in a bad place ( she was talking about back to black and all the other ones) and having to sing them every night brings back those same mind sets and I relive those times" imagine all those emotions coming back to you every time u sing those songs and you have to sing them over and over and over every night and day of your life and I have been in love with someone who went back to the person she was dating I know frist hand how it feels and every time I see her I relive those emotions of her leaving and I drink and when your drunk the pain is gone and people always say "when your sober the problems comes right back " they do that's very true but that time that it wasn't eating away at you and killing u slowly was like heaven and u would never understand unless u know that pain it wasn't her addiction that killed her Blake killed her I know people say it's nobody's fault but your own but when your trying to escape the feelings that someone else is making u feel u and if your really emotional like I am and she was obviously. anything to take the pain away u want weather it's drugs and alcohol or whatever u use to make yourself happy u will do it to try to make the pain go away and u can talk about it was an addiction and it was nobody's fault but hers or whatever you are going to say buy at the end of the day she died trying to take away the pain Blake inflicted on her and I know how that feels cuz I have got alcohol poisoning alot of nights from trying to get away from the pain she caused but it's looked at by other people as I use a traumatic event to be drunk all the time but u wouldn't know how it feels and u wouldn't understand unless something has happened to you left you so hurt u will do ANYTHING for the pain to go away so stop saying it was her addiction or whatever she couldn't help it just how I can't because the pain hurts so bad all u can think about is it and that's like being imprisoned in your own mind but it's an "addiction" most every person with addiction something happened to them that drove them to that so you can shut up with all that addiction shit !!!!!!!
Simon Williams and you were addicted to drugs u know how it feels and for your information he introduced her too drugs so of corse she would be at the highest point of her addiction when she was with the person who introduced her to drugs dumbass and he said himself she got worse when he left her so stfu and I know those songs her hurt because if u just watch that video u could see it all in her face what singing that song was doing to her and her manager said she would drinking heavily when it was time for her to go on tour and perform so obviously they hurt her to sing them so instead of trying to prove your point about your drugs and addiction you should know your facts about her and her music because I have watched some much stuff on her I could write a book and if u watch that video u would see when she said " your smile was so inviting and he kissed my check with his finger tips " the look on her face showed how much pain she was in so stop trying to make everything about you and see that this women's problem was him so before u go off and try to make something about yourself you should see another person's cry for help which she just showed for u in that video
Simon Williams well u should have said that frist and u don't have to feel bad for me I know what my problem is and a drunk man tells no lies have u ever heard that it quite true so how I feel right now and what I'm saying is exactly how I would feel and respond if I was sober but I'm done arguing with you because what caused her addiction was him he started her too it so he was her down fall it wasn't what she did to herself it was what he did too her literally because I called my closet fried and he said the same thing I'm saying and other people are saying it read the comments own down on this video your the only one and the other assholes saying it was all her fault but whatever I'm "drunk" or whatever but I know I'm right and your not so I'm done
Dear Amy! You and your "weird dance" and endless creativity and talent.. . I knew you will end up "dead" but you are never dead for us! You will always live and outlive many many of "them" You are one shinning star and I love you!
What a strange equation: her suffering equal and opposite the sheer joy in her audience. This performance simply lives, the ultimate gift she could have left us. RIP dear soul.
This performance is superb, not only for the amazing vocals but for the way she reflects so much pain and dispair. It is hauntingly beautiful. She was one of the greatest and she will live forever through her music
Ok yeah this is extremely hard to watch because you can tell she isn't really there, but this performance is really captivating. I don't know why, but the way she sang in this performance seemed so mesmerizing.

you can see how the drugs had worn her down, made her mannerisms more jolted, her voice less symphonic, and overall she was malnourished (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.). RIP amy, much love.
completely torn apart. if only she'd have stayed at the frank era with that writing back to black destroyed her everytime she performed those songs a piece of her was lost untill there was nomore. may she have found peace and the love she craved were she is now there'll never be another R.I.P Princess
Another expert pfff go fuck your self we don’t need your “what she should sound like” analogies. This is raw, emotional and most artists who are this deep down could never pull off this type of performance.
If she was completely anti drugs in 2004 then dead less than a decade later, that ain't enough time to destroy yourself with drugs in a gradual decline sense. Alcohol or some prescription drugs maybe, but not drugs. I hear pain and soul.
I can't help crying. She looks so helpless, desperate. It makes me wanna hug her, tell her it's all right, the pain will fade, Amy. Let time heal your heart, dear.
I love Amy's soul and her expressive interpretations. I pray that this talented soul is with God and is beyond all the hideous paths she had to traverse in this world. Amen.
Despite being on drugs here, this was one seriously powerful performance. She sung with such intensity, unique genius style playing with her songs even when high as a kite. Amazing
Remember walking in the sand. The night, night is so exciting. And your smile, your smile is so inviting. He kissed my cheek with his fingertips. Softly, we meet our lips...... I, i go back to....LOVE

I feel so bad and sad watching the performances from when she was sick. She had such confused look in her eyes, and totally looking like she was asking for help. And you can hear the pain in her voice, and even shes tired, she sounds so briliant. Amazing pure talent, and sadly taken away too soon 😞 Its deeply sad that such beautiful and talented soul had gone through all of that dark stuff, completly alone.
1st time listening to this live performance. Oh god! So powerful, so intense, so sad at the same time. Thanks for the gift to this world, Amy. Yet, I wish someone was there for you.. You were like a little girl lost and abused, and people let you drfit away.
It’s like she’s a revived corpse that’s simultaneously regenerating back into human form while also decaying towards death yet again. Back to black. She’s dead and alive, tragically stuck between two states of existence, unsure which one she prefers more. Hauntingly beautiful.
@@AhhChama I’m not romanticizing her suffering. I’m acknowledging that she was both a brilliant artist and deeply troubled, as many great artists are. Her art evoked pain and heartbreak, and her performances visually reflected those emotions.
nope, idk why no one can't see it but she was high as f++ at this performance and this is the sad thing about it. her manager /family / band shouldn't let her perform like this but money is always more important...
This was v2008 and I was in the crowd. I felt her pain and she was mourning very publicly at Blake being emprisoned at the weeks leading up to this performance. I’d seen her at the Isle of Wight festival the year before so it was a shock to see her obvious health decline at this show. She was grieving and some of the crowd were being mean to her. I will never forget this moment and the overwhelming urge to go and hug her ❤️🌹 Still love and miss her to this day. What a unique and rare gem she was 🦋
Just touching comment! Thank You for the empathy and such high level of sensitivity, touching. That proves that She has brought more light to this world with her talent.
Weather she was high or in withdrawal here is irrelevant. Infact, if she was(she most likely is), then it is a even bigger testament the passion and soul she put in her music. Even here in obvious withdrawal she sounds amazing.. that voice my god. I don't think i will ever get over her death.. so young ..such passion.. so unique.. such an angel. The only thing about her music that is even more important then her voice, is the soul she put into it. All the devils she had to fight with all her life. I really hope you are at peace now Amy. But those of us left behind will mourn for years to come, if not our entire lives. As im writing this my eyes are getting watery again..
I highly doubt she was in withdrawal here, she seems definitely loaded. With alcohol and opiate addiction withdrawals, the sufferer in the deep throes would be uncontrollably sweating bullets, extreme vomiting and diarrhea (you're welcome) ;). And with the amount of alcohol her family said she consumed, she would almost definitely have seizures and confusion while withdrawing, which wouldn't have allowed her to play more than likely, she probably couldn't even remember her lyrics in that state. Anyway, she was amazing and I feel like the world lost an absolute legend. Every time I listen to her songs, I feel so sad thinking about what amazing songs she could have written in the future. Songs we could be listening to right now. This is heartbreaking to watch though. I hope her soul is at peace and she feels no more pain.
2:36 that's the most emotional, artistic and finest adlibs I have ever heard. This is why I love Amy sm, she offers sm, performance of her is not the same. Amy's talent is one in a million.
Remember walking in the sand The night, night was so exciting And your smile, your smile was so inviting Then, then he kissed my tears with his fingertips And softly, we meet with our lips I, I go back to... RIP Amy Winehouse
Remember, walking in the sand, yeah, the night, the night was so exciting. And your smile, your smile was so inviting. Then, then he kissed my check, with his fingertips. Softly, we meet our lips. And I go back to. I go back to black
I love that she incorporated Lyrics from Shangri-Las Song "Remember (Walking in the Sand)" She actually drew inspiration from that song when creating this masterpiece. Back to Black is an incredible work of art.
Zoe Gatlin it’s not like the people could just jump on the stage, i m sure they wanted to help. She obviously desperately needed it but i don t think there was anything anyone could ve done by that point
@@lolpespol581It really is. I can't figure out how this young lady dying in front of us is being called "beautiful" by so many. She should've been taken to a hospital not shoved out on stage. This was very, very hard to watch. Poor girl. 💔
It seems as though this song was incredibly hard for Amy to perform in nearly every live performance I have seen. Damn love can really F you up. Miss her

True manifestation of human greediness and self interest. Not lifting a finger to help this unusual gem but feed their evil needs, dancing on stage and in the crowd with someone who really needs love, care and compassion but is watched to self destruct. We are a disgrace to this planet!
poor amy... nobody could help her, her demons devoured her, she is the clear example of what should not be done in life- no to drugs, no to alcohol, no, no and a thousand times no.
