Switzerland knocked out the reigning champions easily. The Dutch drew with France. Slovenia drew 0-0 with Portugal. You don't just turn up and smash teams. Doesn't happen. It is not a game of Fifa. @bye-72 cos it's tournament football. You don't need to play well every game. You have to manage it. And it's not that easy. Every team is well coached and well organised. Nobody is going to open up against us and when the Dutch did in the first half look what started to happen. France have the best squad and scored 1 goal from open play in 6 games. It's not how you start the tournament it's how you finish it

The most important thing is getting to the final and winning it.

Robson had to rely heavily on his two world class players in Italia 90 (Waddle & Gazza)...He didn't have too much on the bench and then had to get past a great German team.....
