Instagram- AdamTheWooATW First off I’ll bitch about whatever I want . My channel , my thoughts. Secondly , the point I’m making here is how dumb it is when I can’t bring in a small point and shoot camera that’s smaller than my cell phone which also films video . If “camera equipment” is an issue why are phones allowed . Everyone’s entitled to their opinions on my thoughts , just like I’m allowed to state them
I hear ya Adam. I am in your camp on this. You spent good money and wouldnt cause any harm by just filming. A ton of people will be using their IPhones anyways. There will be plenty of more punk rock flea markets. We appreciate you creating and crusading for us fans. 90 bucks is crazy, maybe for a weekend long or even two days. Not even gonna complain more about merch and drinks
I understand completely what you're saying!! Lord knows the amount of drugs, underage drinking, weapons being brought in ..but a little gimbal?? *Camera stabilizer* ..as a RU-vidr myself, I can see how annoying it is 😡😡
As a musician myself for like 50+ years, here’s a good example of how music has become a BUSINESS. No more trading tapes, no more DIY, it’s all about profit and it SUCKS. Totally agree with everything you’ve said here Adam👍
old people spend whatever it takes to relive their youth. Nosebleed Rolling Stones seats at a football stadium are like $300 bucks. People interested in ST or Rancid or Dropkick etc are all 40, 50, 60 years old and can afford it. I saw a lot of those bands 20-25 years ago and they were ok. I think the best part about punk shows back then were the openers.
@@whatoris9934 Except to Adam's point in this very video - he doesn't take freebies for good comments. He buys tickets when he could probably work free tix in to most every place he goes into.
@@VanInhalin I use to see the dropkicks in the late 90’s when they were just a 4 piece. Rick, Ken, Matt and Mike. Those were the days you could see them in church halls and boys and girls clubs for 5 bucks!
I know these guys are going to make a living but I'd rather remember my punk rock experience and fenders Ballroom in Long Beach or where I only paid $6 to get in even the bands used to be fine with with that punk rock was real
I've never heard you upset in your videos. It's almost refreshing to see you're just human like the rest of us. Keep doing your different videos, just love it.
@@whatoris9934 no. If you actually watch his channel, he never even films actual performances, songs, athletic games, etc. filming a crowd or 3 seconds of any kind of event has always been fair use. He’s well within his right to do that just as the media does it all the time.
@@whatoris9934 This is such a weak take. Adam did away with merch and doesn't take freebies. He could make WAY more $ in so many ways with this kind of following and chooses not to. If anything he'd just be giving the event AND the bands totally free press.
Preach Brother!!! I am a concert photographer and I'll never understand when I have to go put my equipment back in the car, meanwhile everyone in the crowd is taking crappy photos and videos for social media!!
Festivals in general feel like a corporate cash grab. Make you feel like prisoners who are only there to spend money and stand in a crowd "disguised as fun"
Following the channel for years, so glad you're in Vegas, yet sorry that happened! I hope the trip gets better, always routing for you in your travels!!
Dang unreal I remember in the early 00s even, when my band played shows we were GRATEFUL to anyone there with a camera to document it! Footage and good live photos was hard to come by in the punk scene. The times they are a changin. Make sure to treat yourself in Vegas the rest of your trip, the national atomic testing museum is AWESOME! Take it easy bro and safe travels 🤘🏼
Thank you for this. This is one of my fave vlogs you’ve done. All common sense has gone out the window and I appreciate you calling it out as it is and not bending to the ridiculousness.
I smell what you’re stepping in. Your channel has exposed me to all sorts of things I otherwise wouldn’t know of, they did pass on an opportunity to showcase the festival.keep up the great work!
Adam, so sorry for this bad experience in Vegas. And, as a Denverite, really sorry for your Coors Field experience too. The "rules" for average people like us defy logic. Having one of those "bad" days myself and having to justify being "in the right" is EXHAUSTING. ALWAYS behind you, showing support! 👏👊🙋🏼♀️💙
Thumbs down on this vid because “whining” is such a waste. Count your blessings that you were even able to go to the event to begin with. If you read the disclaimer on the website when ordering tickets. You’d probably caught the note about “no dslr cameras” and saved yourself the effort of even going in the first place. The most disappointing part of all this. With your RU-vid platform. You could’ve done more to make things right? Go into the venue with just your cellphone. Talk to others who had the same trouble with the cameras. Get others reaction to the situation on video to share to the world. I attended a show at house of blues years ago when it was still downtown Disney. I think it was Social D? Waited in line for an hour. Only to be told I could not enter with my chain wallet. Because it was a safety issue. So I took my chain off, and walked it back to my car. Others in line saw what happened. And began stuffing their chains and studs in their shoes, pants and whatever. Finally got into the show, and I became a narc. Everyone I saw that got past security when what I couldn’t, I called them out to make things fair for those who actually followed the protocol such as myself. Times changed, and people stopped wearing studs and what not because they could be used as a weapon, and weren’t allowed at a lot of venues in the Orlando area. Now and days. It’s all about money. Only the venue staff and other commercial grade videographers can film high quality vids for profit. Not you with your little RU-vid channel. America has gone to the dogs. Hence why I moved from there over 10 years ago now and never looked back. Watch your channel and others like it just to see what us all going on these days in my old home town. And sadly it ain’t getting better no matter what I watch.😂
Adam : "Once I get something in my mind, I am over it, so I am just going to enjoy rest of the day." Procedes to rant about it for the rest of the video. LOL Adam, you are the best!! And yes, the camera handle got ya. I used to work medical response at a concert venue, and the one thing they they told their staff to look for is anything with a tripod and a removable lens.
I get that he wanted to make a video, but also why couldn't he just put the camera away and enjoy it like apparently everyone else there could and like he said he did the night before?
@@mushieslushie Yeah, that was a little too obsessive for Adam to let it bother him that much. But that's part of Adam's character I guess. I just call him Rainman. lol
@@Cutelatinguy2 Im glad that I'm not in a position that I only do things for the sake of making a video. I have even seen it from carpetbagger before where if they don't let him take his camera he doesn't do it. I get that part of it is your job and if you need to make a video that day then you need to find something else but in the case of like not riding a ride because you can't take your camera etc. Everyone else there is there to enjoy their day and not film every second of it so just go on the ride any enjoy it for yourself. And in this case Adam isnt even trying to film something else, just complaining as if the venue cares that he can't take in his selfie stick.
You vlog practically everyday and are barely ever visibly upset on camera. I don’t understand anyone being put off by it. Honestly, you could be 10000% in the wrong in a given situation and you still have the right to vlog that human experience because your channel I feel is about that. Tomorrow’s a new day!
Can I just say this was one of the most entertaining videos you've recorded. 👍 And yes, you absolutely can voice your thoughts and opinions on your channel. Sorry it went the way it did. But keep on chugging along, giving us great videos. On to the next adventure Adam!!!
I'd love to see the Philly Captain watching this video. He'd totally crack up when you offered understanding to the event organizers for their need to pay a large hired staff to tell you to put your camera away! 😂😂😅 I thought you were going to offer conciliation about understanding the 90 dollar fee, but it was the best dig of them all! Go Adam!!
That was my first show back after Covid, the tour opener in Minnesota. No vaccination requirement because it was outdoors, but I certainly wouldn't have attended if they were requiring it.
We've watched you over the years more than any "real press media" TV and online combined....one of the most down to earth people out there and stay true to who you are! Their loss!
Part of the reason merch is so expensive is because a lot of venues are charging the bands a % on each merch item sold now. Bands are getting screwed by venues/ticket vendors just as much as fans.
Hi Adam 👋☺️ glade to see you in the video in Vegas and getting the chance to see the Punk Rock museum 🤘i first saw it on Daze with Jordan the Lion. He was there they had a guy doing the tour around, he would be the best cause he knows his stuff
manfrotto is so rebellious, manfrotto is punk rock. It's funny that they don't allow small cameras in, when most platforms, especially youtube, have copyright strikes and any monetization would be blocked thereof. It's ridiculous how much seeing live music costs so much these days also. Thanks for showing us around vegas. Looking forward to where you will take us while you're out in that area.
it's not ridiculous, broadway plays on and off broadway are a fortune b/c of the people involved. It's an entire production with dozens if not hundreds of crew workers. IT costs a lot of money from the permits to pull on a show, to transportation (look up rental costs of vehicles for tour) and so much more. Often times even at $40 a ticket smaller bands ARE LOSING MONEY going out on tour. YES it does suck EVERYTHING is more expensive in 2023 however would you work for free?
Amen Adam I’m considering you yelp for that event and was planning on going next year and you changed my mind, you brought up excellent points and I couldn’t agree with you more. Keep up the great work you are freaking amazing. Rock on and stay safe.
Adam I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been turned away from places because of my DSLR I can’t imagine the frustration with having the G7x and not being able film bc of stupid rules. These kind of rules do leave a bad taste in your mouth . Keep up the good stuff man love the honesty
i can understand your frustrations , you traveled and spent money . plus looking forward to seeing some bands i remember having some of these issues once when i went to a concert . hopefully you can reset your day an be able to still have fun an enjoy while your in Las vagas
Thanks for the rant! It's totally a case of skewed priorities . I'm a photographer and had media badge to cover a rodeo star',s last ride at NFR. The casino management forbid me to shoot anywhere on the property except some lame balcony area. They sent a security guard to watch me and disrupt our shoot like every five minutes. He also forbade me to even point my camera at the lobby area of the stadium. Meanwhile some rodeo fans came by and they were able to shoot anywhere they wanted with their phones, and they even took selfies with the rodeo star, and honestly probably got better footage than me. It was one of the worst shoots in my career. Contrast that to when I shot a rodeo at MSG in New York, where they gave me full access to the stadium, even the locker rooms, and even the bull pen. They even let influencers in to sensitive areas with their manfrottos... no problems... I guess it's a vegas thing... maybe has to do with the casino security... IDK. But your rant is totally justified!
Adam, don't be so butt hurt just adapt Put your camera back in the car And use your phone it's no big deal You may have got some great footage while you're in there Now we will never know.
Very cool that you were in guttermouth, I listened to them when I was growing up, and also started watching this channel before the daily woo even started. Very interesting how these two things in my life have have somehow connected. Also, the only concert big" concert I've ever been to where the T-Shirt was less than $30 was Weird Al last year in Vegas.
Totally agree with you Adam, it's so ridiculous to say no camera equipment and then allow phones in, so many smart phones have professional quality cameras now, they are better quality than a lot of actual point and shoot cameras. They were definitely not giving off a punk rock vibe. I hate when something like this ruins your whole experience. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. Love your videos.
If smartphones are so good then he should just bring in his smartphone. He can afford the best one anyway. Security in these events isn't getting trained on what camera to draw the line at. They are just assuming that any dedicated handheld camera these days is a more serious camera. No one really uses any dedicated camera anymore that aren't at least prosumer level quality because cell phones are so good so it isn't really an unreasonable assumption. The real problem is they should have been consistent with the rules in the first place.
I feel your pain, Adam. I've been attending concerts since 1970. I wish that I could pinpoint the time when certain concertgoers f'ed it up for the rest of us. Stones at Altamont in 1969? We may not have the same musical tastes, yet I think we share the love for music.
Love this Adam! 😊 You are 100% correct! Went to a concert about a month ago in an Auditorium, and they told us, no video. Concert starts, everyone starts video recording, and it was obvious! Sometimes you gotta let off some steam, and you will probably get more views on this, than you expected! You don’t want my opinion on Vegas! It will reveal itself! Last place on my bucket list, and then I would rather be home! 😉 Your still at the top of my RU-vidrs! Always have been! This Vlog definitely is awesome! 😊 Keep being Adam! 👍🏻
I was there all three nights and overall, it was a good experience. I did NOT wait for the barrier to get fixed, glad to hear that it took so long for them to comeback on cuz I did not want to waste my time. Also, on the final night I lost my car keys inside the venue and When I tried to go back in to look for them, the security gave me such a difficult time. I was with my girlfriend and my 6-month old daughter and the security there gave two F's about us being stranded out there late at night in downtown Vegas.
Used to live in Henderson Nevada back in the day. It was cool being a kid and living that close to Vegas. Got to see so many cool things, i remember going to The Excalibur and getting my picture taken with a screen used Michael Keaton Batmobile. Or standing outside the mirage and watching The Volcano, definitely have some great memories of Vegas!
That is a ridiculous rule and I understand your frustration especially when you pay good money sucks that happened Adam keep doing what you do and posting what you enjoy. Head out to Cali and go meet up with Scott and make some fantastic videos together. I remember the ball game it was during the Stanley cup playoffs last year
Lots of good bands. Sloppy Seconds are funny, I seen Suicidal Tendencies and Madball a few years ago at house of blues and Suicidal had Dave Lombardo from Slayer on drums. And I seen the Damned during their 40 year anniversary tour, awesome show.
Absolutely spot on there Adam. One of your best videos for full on reaction to something so dumb and pointless, which seems to be the norm nowadays sadly. In the UK we call these people "jobsworth". They cant see past a list and use their brains to break free. Keep doing what you do Adam as the world needs your reality.
Some of these rules at venues and festivals are just crazy. I won't be going to State Farm Stadium in Phx anymore, if i can help it, because of their insane rules. You're lucky if you can walk in with the clothes you're wearing. A concert there would have to be a once in a lifetime, must-see for me to go back there. I totally sympathize with you. It's gotten so out of control. The way I handled my last experience there, I complied and went in, concert was ok, and just vowed to never go back. It definitely wasn't worth $400+ to not go in for me. It's like they say "Come pay a bunch of money to see these awesome bands, but having any kind of fun is prohibited." 😂 There's so many cooks in the kitchen when it comes to these shows that it has just become unbearable for anyone trying to attend. I don't know what we do to get these corporations in check, but what they're doing isn't working.
Rules are rule whether you agree or not. You are there by choice. I could understand the frustration if this was government law. If you want in there are rules you have to follow.😊
YOU tell them Adam!! I total understand. I felt that way with Disney World in April. I felt like security was giving me the third degree every time I brought my gimbal stabilizer for my cell phone. One security guy even ask if the bottom was pepper spray. 😮 I am sure they see lots of vloggers go into Disney and they are going to bother me. I just got aggravated after this happening to me twice I just stopped taking it into the parks.
Blame streaming on why stuff so expensive. The only way they can make money is selling merch. (A lot of times the venues even take a cut of their merch sales)
I remember the Denver incident very well. You’d never been to Coors Field and paid to see a game, and they told you, you could have your camera. Yet EVERYONE has a cell phone 🤔 I’ll never understand that !
I agree with you Adam..... just like at work or anywhere for that matter. it's frustrating when 'rules' don't make sense. it's natural to question things that don't make sense. good video... I support you and if I was in your shoes, I would have been frustrated as well.
Love your videos man but you come off like a huge toddler in this, were you not aware of the various security reasons vegas is so tight? Did you forget what happened or do you think the world revolved around you?
Lol! I’m sorry you were snubbed and wasted $90. But I appreciate very much your stance. Past camera fiascos and all that, there’s an air of idiotic red tape surrounding so many issues that just don’t make any damn common sense. I often throw my fist in the air in frustration about things. Just make it make sense. G’day Adam. Hope it gets better! ☀️
