Amid the growing polarization, covered-up abuses, schisms, and scandals roiling evangelicalism, studies show that many American Christians - and even many pastors - are increasingly disillusioned with and exhausted by what they experience at church. Wisdom is required to confront the challenge: how can we refocus on the Good News and its transforming power, and together be amazed by grace once again?
Trinity Forum Senior Fellow Russell Moore, current Christianity Today Editor in Chief, former President of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) of the Southern Baptist Convention, and author of the new book, Losing Our Religion, joined us on Friday, July 21 to discuss the possibilities for repentance and renewal in the American church. In this Trinity Forum Online Conversation, convened in partnership with The After Party, he helped us think through addressing the challenges to the church without cynicism or complicity, and reviving the hope of new life.

Thank you! P.S. Got the book today. I am not disappointed. It's clear and easy enough for even me to understand! I started with the conclusion and now reading from the beginning. I should say that I identify as a Christian-Buddhist and a lesbian who has been rejected by my only daughter who has taken flight into stuff that I don't buy or know as healthy. This book is refreshing and hopeful. I follow Jesus the badass master teacher of love not hatred and oppression.

It is not understood why the trinity doctrine must be insisted upon since it is immediately EVIDENT to any unbiased reader of the gospels that it's a bogus theory, fully invented. That CONVENTIONAL doctrine was created with arrogance because directly contrary to Jesus' words. You just need to read the gospels TO LEARN from Jesus' own words that 1. He is NOT almighty 2. He is with the FATHER ONLY. If Jesus were PART OF A TRIUNE GOD - as claimed by the doctrine - this would surely be CONFIRMED by Him! He would accordingly state to be both with 1. FATHER and 2. HOLY SPIRIT. But Jesus tells a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY. He has NO IDEA what a "triune God" is supposed to be and crystal clear reiterates in 4 gospels to be ONLY WITH THE FATHER! Jesus further states that He is the ONLY KING of heaven, i.e. contrary to the doctrine there are NOT THREE KINGS (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) in heaven. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are thus NOT CO-EQUAL. The trinity inventors were not able to figure out that the "Spirit of God" (Holy Spirit) simply IS THE SAME AS "God is a spirit" (Jn. 4:24). According to the doctrine they are TWO distinct spirits instead (allegebly they form a triune God with Jesus!). The truth is that the "Spirit of God" - who comes from God - is the SAME GOD, but in the form of a Spirit "God is a spirit". Thus, no third person exists.
