I watched the whole battle 360 series about enterprise on RU-vid it was my favorite behind dogfights. I wish they re didnthose old shows with new graphics
So stoked for getting the Enterprise. Not a bad game. I think the CVs are in a much better spot now-coming as a CV enjoyer. I would like some alpha back for the decreased restoration time, not a lot. If there is one thing that this and last update has done, has forced a lot more formations to sail together. I think this is a good thing, for sure. CVs counter cross fires, torps, etc. Which I always thought was one of their main purposes. They do that job better now
"An American Lexington-class carrier..." aaaaah, my ears are bleeding! USS Enterprise was the second of three Yorktown-class carriers built between 1937-1941. (Unlike the Lexingtons, which started their lives as a battlecruiser design -- see USS Constellation in-game -- the Yorktowns were a dedicated class of large carriers from the keel-up.)
Especially now with fuel consumption and carriers being encouraged to be closer, therefore more likely to take status effects. 12 extra seconds of immunity can be nice
Yorktown class middle child uss Enterprise. She was the first purpose built carrier unlike Saratoga and Lexington which were battlecruisers converted to aircraft carriers due to the Washington naval treaty restrictions on battleships.
“^this guy’s probably right. They paid to have CVs implemented into the game. I wouldn’t be surprised for the July update if we get Enterprise. Buffing CVs to asinine levels then offering the Big E for 17500 sounds like Wargaming” Gave us Parseval with worse AP bombs and slower torps…? Oh but their slower planes have higher HP! …. Cool?😂 Ggs too got to test Columbo against u in Louisiana against ya last night. Wish it was more of a fair fight and your team didn’t throw so I could’ve gotten a chance to see Louisiana in a brawl, but alas, twas update day.
@@DerkaGames I feel like its armor scheme reminds me of Duncan, not the squishiness, but more so when people didn’t know where to aim to overmatch. I was having some insane Duncan games early on, once folks realize there’s this weird 25 mm section u can overmatch, but rarely overpen it’ll start getting chunked more underneath the flight deck
@@romallama44 Enterprise's torpedo bombers barely have more health then Shoukaku's dive bombers even when neither are in upgraded so their slow speed hurts even more.
Tbh, idk if enterprise will become a premium ship in the shop or not after the campaign, if it doesn’t then that’s honestly gonna be sad, I would love a chance to get enterprise, I do hope they either make it available in the shop for others to get like they did with Graf zeppelin, or bring it back every July in the shop to celebrate 4th of July
One thing I don't understand about CV is: why pilots are blind? DD or Minos AA open fire with their DUAL PURPOSE MAIN GUNS but they can't see where the ship is... And even in the smoke, why AA is not clearly seen where it come from like when they shot with main gun (dual purpose by the way...)? You don't want to get spotted? Switch OFF AA, very simple.
How to play CV’s for dummies. 1. Aircraft survivability is paramount!!! Except for something like Kaga with a plane printer on board. Stay away from ships that are clustered together. As well as making sure to use your evasive maneuvers when you do drop on a ship with good AA. Keep them alive! 2. Always maintain situational awareness. Stay close to the battle to maximize strikes but far enough away to not put yourself in danger. 3. Pattern recognition. When it comes to killing dd’s it’s hard. Though most people will always repeat the same maneuver to dodge your torpedoes. Exploit that. 4. Makes use of your patrol fighters! Use them to protect your team from enemy planes. They always shoot down almost the entire squadron which is devastating. If the enemy cv doesn’t fall for it. It’s still a deterrent to keep them away from your team. 5. Farm damage as much as possible. Go after the heavy hitters if you can. And exploit damage con cooldown as much as possible. The weaker the enemy is, the easier it is for your team to kill them and win the game!
I took the plunge, bought one big crate for 750 dubs, and to my surprise I got the Connecticut. Played a couple games in AI and wasn’t sure, then played a couple of games in Standard and now I’m sure. It’s a pice of crap. I’m going back to my normal ships.
In the end after all this CV buff, nerf, nerf, the result is that everyone is unhappy. Good CV players are not happy because now you cannot spot DD so basically you cannot control the game nor do anymore absurd dmg. BB main players complain because... if you are a BB main you probably are not the sharpest pencil in the box!
Spotting DD's is a waste of time for CV players since WG changed the CV mechanics. Plus there are a very few CV's that can do serious damage to DD's but even then it's not worth wasting the time and fuel hunting them.
The way they have done carriers with “fuel” for the planes has ruined them. I have actually left the game on console and won’t be back unless they take that back out of the game as it should be.
The Yorktown-class aircraft carrier, USS Enterprise (CV-6) was commissioned at Newport News, Virginia, on May 12, 1938. Relocating to the Pacific, she was at sea during the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Three days after, she became the first U.S. Navy warship to sink a Japanese warship, submarine I-70, and later that month participated in the Wake Island expedition. In April, Enterprise covered the Dootlittle Raid on Japan and participated in the Battle of Midway that June, where her planes helped sink three Japanese aircraft carriers and a cruiser. During the Guadalcanal Campaign, she covered the landings and participated in the battles of Eastern Solomons and Santa Cruz Islands. Despite being damaged in both battles, she launched aircraft to assist the ships involved in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. In late 1943 and early 1944, Enterprise took part in the Gilberts and Marshall invasions and air attacks on the Japanese in the Central and Southern Pacific. In the summer of 1944, she participated in the Marianas operation and the Battle of the Philippine Sea, followed with the largest naval battle in history, the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October. In February 1945, Enterprise took part in the Iwo Jima invasion, then raids on the Japanese home islands and the Okinawa campaign in April. Due to damage received by two kamikaze attacks in April and May, she returned to the United States with the distinction of being the most decorated U.S. Navy warship during the war. Following Japan's surrender, she helped transport U.S. servicemen back to the United States. Decommissioned in February 1947, Enterprise was redesignated (CVA-6) in October 1952 and then to (CVS-6) in August 1953. Despite efforts to turn her into a museum ship, she was sold for scrapping in July 1958.
To be honest, I'll probably be a bad American and skip Enterprise. I'm going to be off the game for most of July (honeymoon), so I'd have to buy the campaign out in the next day or so, and since I don't play any of the carriers I have now, there's probably no point in adding another one just because it's the Enterprise. I also did not get the Haida, since it did not come with butter tarts or a free container of Chalet Sauce. And yes, I remember Battle 360. I liked that as well as "Dogfights".
Derka im not entirely sure there is a cc cv main😂. Agreed though, enterprise doesnt have to be the best in game only be big e😊. The carriers should be able to spot for the team its dumb a cv can have a dd lit and still dont get the triple conceal dd doofus main will be right beside and i dont have the shot...its really dumb and since cvs have gas limits(no loiter) i think team cv spotting should come back😢
Even though Big E is strong against the deck of cruisers, many cruisers come with awesome AA. High risk high reward is what comes to mind. I’ll be taking out Rochester AA spec’d more this update lol.
Even as a cv player she is kinda meh, like her bombs are inaccurate even when lined up perfectly. Her planes are also very squishy for us planes. I would say most cv's need an alpha increase especially since they all lost restoration time to where pre dropping is now almost mandatory once again.
Day37 (Insert: corporate needs you to find the difference between this picture (Lexi review) and this picture (Big E review), Derka: they are the same picture.)
Cool video, i'm happy to see the Enterprise on the game ! I hope to get it but i don't think i will 😭 but i got the new hybrid battleship "Conneticuss i think" and yeah they are kinda fun but i hope they will be not to boring to face against ! Take care of yourself !
being rather excited for this cv i was pretty massively disappointed in enterprise. torps are the slowest in the game without much dmg to them and ap bomb are a joke, sure they can citadel but maximum damage per bomb isn't even 3k. if i want to go for ap bombs i'd rather pick graf zeppelin or percival.
Could use a buff without a doubt, but that’s the best way to implement a CV during this CV rework business… mid but buffable rather than OP and in need of nerf
WoW:Legends teams are so unbalanced, your team either wins big,or gets rekt big,and most of my teams are full of brainless muppets,so much fun...i guess its a WG thing
Just wanted to point out that enterprise is not a “Lexington class” carrier but rather she’s the second member of the Yorktown class carriers that came after the lexingtons
I wish that they would have adjusted Ernest King's HE bomb traits so that they affected either HE or AP bombs. For example, they could have combined Geisler's and King's level 4 bomb trait into 1 so that it would buff the bombs whether they were HE or AP. As it is right now, King doesn't seem like a very exciting commander for Enterprise but there isn't a better alternative.
I’m a newer player that finally caved as I enjoy WWII naval ships and battles. Imagine my surprise when the Enterprise is hauled out to get some cash infusion. Of course we want the Enterprise (or a Northampton class cruiser). But wow, if the grind doesn’t seem daunting to someone that recently unlocked the Langley and New York. It might be too much at this point.
@@gabetinsley4540 if you’re that new, it can seem daunting. Maybe don’t go for this campaign. Get some higher tier ships, and work on another cool campaign down the road. I played FTP for 6 months or more before I ever paid 2500 doubloons for admiralty backing in campaigns.
@@DerkaGamesThanks for the reply! I’m assuming the admiralty backing is a campaign boost. Or does that just unlock the ship? The feasibility of finishing this campaign at my level does seem to diminish the more I look into things. I’ve been doing really good with the Langley and vastly improved with the New York so XP gain is looking much better and the game is getting more enjoyable. But the grind is real now. The Iowa is a distant goal.
@@gabetinsley4540 admiralty backing is a way to buy the campaign, yes for 2500 doubloons (or 10 bucks I think). You get the ship and all the goodies as you complete the weekly missions. The ship would be unlocked and in your port when you hit the last milestone. It’s the best deal in the game aside from some Christmas deals and Black Friday deals.
I think that with fuel now, that should be a balancing factor, like let's use enterprise as an example, are the AP bombs too good? Instead of nerfing things into the ground, just hit the fuel instead, like take 5km fuel away, or something like that
Something I have seen lately. Do you feel that the French alt cruiser line (the CB line) needs a buff? I now Brest got one but the other two might need some. They just feel extremely weird as ships. They get penned at odd angles and sometimes I pen them at angles that make zero sense. I also barely if at all see them in any game. Maybe going full glass cannon and buffing the reload speed even further would help?
0:22 I’m not even an American. But that’s not a Lexington aircraft carrier class. It’s a Yorktown aircraft carrier class. The difference between Lexington and Yorktown are as follows. Lexington hull design was meant for battlecruiser. Yorktown hull classes were fully designed to be aircraft carriers.
Enterprise in itself is average at best without rockets, assuming there not adding them to the game later on or not at all. It feels like the bomb pen was reduced from pc however. Either enterprise needs a buff to her bombs or more ships just flat out need to be citidelable
I'll go ahead and say it big E is a cruiser hunter with the AP bombs otherwise German bbs and brit battle cruisers are the only bbs it can reliably cit
Hey derka, I don't know if you remember but I was that uss kidd that kept dodging your torps on Greece yesterday. I didn't even realize it was you until I died lmao. Was hoping that was the footage you used but its understandable cuz it wasn't a that good of a game, anyways GG
Didn't share that but that was part of my garnered experience in saying the Enterprise is garbage against DDs lol. 40 knot torps and crap AP bpms that OP for 290 damage. GGs
My grandfather who was in the navy visited the Missouri, and we watched battle 360 together. Of all the ships I ever wanted to sail in game, I’ll now finally hv both 🙏🏼
@@hiddenelement696 playing Enterprise, the ijn cv's and the UK cv's you definitely need to pre-drop a lot as they simply either don't have the HP to warrant not pre-droping or in the case of the UK the restoration time is so big if you don't pre-drop you won't have any planes for quite some time.
