I watch this sort of thing as a kind of "therapy" to recover from news and general public madness in the media. I find watching someone restore something hopeless to a state of beauty and utility soothing and inspiring. You are amazing.
HOPE... ALL THE PROOF ANYONE NEEDS I sought God and found evidence for the everthing I questioned in the Bible: giants. Noah's Ark, Sodom & Gommorah, etc. etc. There is evidence for the Bible and Jesus Christ, archeological, spiritual, and prophetic. Jesus Christ was who He said He was and did what He did to prove that fact. There are miracles in the name of Jesus Christ still happening today. Science proves the Bible and Jesus Christ. The Bible was taught in our public schools until 1963. It is by far the most published book in the world by the billions, no book even comes close. The Bible is prophetic and the things Jesus Christ said prior to His return are happening currently. Truth in itself is inherently exclusive. We have been lied to about many things. Religions, pastors, and churches most often deviate from the Truth. People suffer for lack of knowledge because they do not seek the Lord, they don't read their Bible, and they listen to some pastor, priest, rabbi, or authority figure without ever reading the Bible and seeking the Lord for discernment themselves. If they did, many would leave their church, synagogue, or mosque immediately. Not all religions are the same and the various sects of Christianity deviate from the truth. Not all religions proclaim Jesus Christ as the Son of God and God in the flesh: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The pope and the CAIR website say that we are all worshipping the same God. This is false and easily proven in the verses. The quran was written approximately 632 AD (Anno Domini: Year of the Lord), after the death of Christ. It states that allah has no son as also written at the al-aqsa mosque. In the hadith it states that the enemy of allah is the King of Kings (Jesus). Judaism does not believe that Jesus Christ is the messiah. Rabbis today have said that they have been meeting with the messiah. This is not how the Bible says the Lord will return. The morman temple has pentagrams all over it and the angel moroni's arm & trumpet fell off in a recent earthquake. The current happenings in the world are all prophetic. The thing about the Lord is that you don't need to try to sift through all of history and it's many lies. You just need to ask Him to make Himself known to you, He will. The Lord has been giving me dreams and visions and prophetic Words since 2015. I became completely disgusted with the system when acquiring a doctoral degree in educational leadership and began to study the Bible and other religions on my own, among other things... the Lord began to speak to me as I sought the Truth. This is prophetic and is happening all over the world. The Lord says that He will pour out His spirit upon all flesh prior to His return. Two ways to know the truth: research and look at the evidence: archeological, spiritual, and prophetic, or ask the Lord Jesus Christ to make Himself known to you...He will. Lots of evidence on my free RU-vid channel. ru-vid.com/show-UCKMdxnNh5HYKfaOl4PrRVqw Acts 2:17 King James Version (KJV) 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: John 14:6 King James Version (KJV) 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Galatians 1:8-9 King James Version (KJV) 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. @@warrenmccann9156 i thought of welding the outside but the parts to fix them to blew me away , all this was amazing determination , just like on car when people give up on one but you know any car can be fixed if you take the time to try this proves it , money is only thing that stops people
This has to be one of, if not THE most incredible restorations I've ever watched. Apart from the skill factor, the patience in doing all that grinding and sanding on metal are AMAZING.VERY well done!
way more patience than I have for sure... I guess the question is, does this help or hurt the value or was it just so far gone it didn't matter anyways. I'm willing to bet there's no numbers on it to prove its age which is unfortunate.
@@97JoMiller While the OP is quite skillful and resourceful, I think this is a "somewhat close rebuild", not a restoration by any interpretation of that word 😂😂
Awesome work. Really like that you tried to reuse as much of the original gun as possible instead of just building a replacement part. The fact that you did it without drill presses, milling machines, surface grinders, etc makes all that more awe inspiring.
It's great to see someone restore something that others would think impossible, and he did it with simple tools and great ability. No need for $50k to $100k worth of laser tables, computerized mills, etc, etc. Great Job!
You are quite skilled. I am a gunsmith and I’m impressed. As to what it was: This is going to sound a little strange but I believe it was a copy of a British Bulldog. I say that only because, from what remained, it has all the features of a Bulldog pocket .32 with the exception of those centrally located flutes on the cylinder. Someone did make a copy with no identifying stamping or roll marks but it did have those oddly shaped flutes on the cylinder. Interesting stuff. I never expected to see one of those resurrected in this way.
An incredible combination of great tools, human patience, skill, knowledge and a passion for perfection. I'm glad there are people in the world possessing all of those traits. This might sound a bit maudlin but it gives me faith in humanity. Thanks!
Is it a true restoration. No. Will it ever shoot again. No Is it true craftsmanship. For sure Will it make a beautifull mantle piece. One of a kind. For sure. Well done my friend. Bringing back a lost piece of history. 💪💪💪
I was going to ask, if he even dared to try to shoot it, after salvaging it. Even with the extra metal tacked back on to fill in the rusted away places, i think it would be rather too weak to take a gunpowder explosion in there.
@@dustysmoke4996when he dry fired it at the end the cylinder didn't move, so I doubt it would ever work after the way it was. Outside of that id be too scared it'd back fire if I tried to shoot it.
It is incredibly unsafe to fire. Who knows if there's a tiny spec of rust inside the barrell, or the cylinder isn't perfectly aligned ?? It may blow up. Not to mention the metal is probably too weak after all those years and, even if it was restored to a tee, it may end up blowing up or being severely deformed after a couple shots.
Too many variables. Look at Antiques Roadshow. They are all experts in their own field, but they do hang out together and know a little about each other's expertise. You have to specialize any more.
Appears to be a Hopkins & Allen arms company modle "XL" double action. I base this off of the octaginal barrel, loading gate, cylinder retaining pin, and Obtuse shape of the trigger guard. It is possible that it could be a Forehand & Wadsworth bulldog model but either way it was manufactured by Hopkins & Allen
You're not a restorationist, you're a damn artist. You may be a savant when it comes to restorations. I've watched so many of your videos and you go beyond restoring. It's a gift dude!
This is a bulldog replica from soviet union era. It was made in a garage in the exact wat you did. A skilled person who enjoyed life and the beauty of the metal craftsmanship. Thank you for bringing back some good old story about some good old spirit.
Amazing work, simply amazing. You're going to make that person who wielded that pistol 140 years ago in 1884 really proud the way you brought it back to life 💯💪🏿
What an interesting time we live in. Before RU-vid and the rise of these types of video there was not likely ever a situation in which someone would invest this much time and effort into such a project no matter the skill level. It just wouldn’t have been worth it. Now people have the opportunity to make money exercising their skill set and many thousands of people get to marvel at the process. Awesome job, man.
My great grandpa restored ALL kinds of stuff.sold maybe 5% of it when Grandma would yell enough.he said he did it because it made him happy and kept his mind and hands busy. When he passed the amount of stuff had to go thru was INSANE what was even crazier was the value of some of the items😮 we didn't sell them tho.took almost 5yrs to find the right museums or collectors. Dad said it wouldn't been an insult to his memory if we sold them because he said so many times it wasn't about the money
This wasn't a "restoration", it was a "Resurrection of the Dead" !!! Great job, from a fellow antique furniture restoration craftsman. I know that's not quite the same thing as what you are doing, but the skill, patience and ingenuity was not lost on me, again "Great Job"!
Great restoration! Congratulations, it looks great. You have a lot of patience and skill to take that piece of history from where it was to what it is today. Excellent job!
Wow! Incredible restoration of this gun. You did a fantastic job. True Craftsman 😊 I really enjoyed watching you turn a hunk on rust into a very beautiful gun. Thanks for sharing your video with us. Looking forward to seeing your next one. 😊 Take care and stay warm Greetings from Fairfield California USA
This is the first restoration of yours I have watched. Of all the restoration masters I subscribe to, this one is by far the best. Excellent craftsmanship!
Well done!!!! I was so sceptical a first. There are so many fakes out there that use spray on rust and this finishedproduct turns out better than new. I love how you did not bring this back to brand new. I am sure you could have. Looking at the finished product; one can tell that this revolver has a story to tell. Once again; a fantastic authentic job.
Never too late. My mother is the same age as you. She's constantly learning new things and has become pretty good with tools, business, computers. It keeps her young.
I never thought I would be able to see this level of skills in my lifetime. You are at the level of ancient Egyptians and civilizations ability to create lifetime wonders. God bless you man. You are a very blessed gifted gunsmith. 🙏👍
This is actually legit! Unlike those channels that show a practically new item, coated in manufactured red rust, and basically spit shined new. This was awesome!
Wow, that thing looked gone. You brought it back to life. We are capable of such wonderful achievements . Truly astonishing to watch you rebuild that , great job🙏
This is amazing, I’ll be honest I had initially thought it was going to be one of the numerous fake restorations on RU-vid, but no this is a real one! You took something which looked beyond repair and completed a through restoration! Well done!!
I have watched other restoration on RU-vid but none to this extent, it looked hopeless I figured this would be a clean and protect from further corrosion. Excellent Workmanship!
Personally, i love the amount of defects left on the piece. You haven't tried to make it perfect. You left it with it's story intact. It would look even better once the grip has started to wear a little too. Great job!
I'm blown away and then some. Doesn't matter what I am or any of the other commentary. That's amazing! An excellent parallel Frankenstien story. The best I've EVER SEEN!
You are a master craftsman. You are second to none. Your tedious work had man watching with anticipation. The whole time I'm thinking to myself about how soon I would have given up trying to restore the ancient pistol. I'm glad you are persistent. It's obvious to see that you have deep knowledge of how pistols are assembled. Does it fire? I think it's worth $100k. Your simply amazing!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The dedication to see it through and the faith in ones own talents is admirable in this day and age with people lacking the attention and patience most wanting instant reward for very little effort your skill level is a prime example that anything is achievable by bringing this piece literally back from an almost certain grave! Excellent work! job well done is an understatement I just hope this encourages more people to learn.
@@Fapsahoyx I didn't say bones, I said dinosaur, like the whole animal. Its not like they send dug up fossils to a glue factory to be melted down into oil.
You can really see the love and dedication he has for what he’s restoring. He’s not hurrying to get content out, he’s just making something beautiful again and recording the process
The model is the British Bulldog. I have two of them. One made in Belgium and the other made in the USA. Both say British Bulldog on them.@@Freeman-Dl70
@@ravoniesravenshir3926I think you missed the point. This is what real craftsman do with "common" tools and ingenuity, no 3D printer or CNC machine. 💪🧑🔧
@@ravoniesravenshir3926 Let me guess right.,..So the guy with a GayAmie avatar ,who has never owned or used a 3-D printer, or CAD software, or 3-D modeling software, or any understanding in material sciences, actually said out loud, that "3D printing required no skill" . LMFAO . My bet is , it would take you 3 days to draw a circle in either "Fusion 360" or "Solid Works". And you stand a better chance at being President than understanding "Blender" .
I wouldn’t be dissing 3D printing. That is a dark art too. It was a compliment to suggest this bird poo welding was anything like 3D printing. The guy could have made his restoration a lot easier if he learnt to tig weld.
Hopkins and Allen has a loading cut out, this one has a loading gate. The cylinder flutes go to the end of the cylinder on H&A this one looks more like the belgian revolvers or the webley
This is a labor of Love, I wished everyone would find a hobbie of something like this whether it's carpentry, metal work, gardening or what ever. You would see less crime and more productive people. Most everyone has something they can do if they try.
Could definitely be wrong but it looks like a colt model 1877 double action either a lightning (.38 cal) or the thunder (.41 cal) they have a unique handle mount.
