No one is talking about how great their system is, like switching off days to make sure employees still get work, while also checking temp, wearing colored wrist bands. Its just all really effective, unlike his mask he is trying to wear
You'd like Pittsburgh zoo all the way to Easter they get to walk around outside with everyone. Sadly we had to miss is cause of the ccp virus but hopefully next year we will get to again.
@@evagerritsen1605 its not really torturing once the animals are old enough these aquariums will bring them to research labs or put them back into their natural habitat but i think there will at least a few adults left behind for mating
Halema Shah 2:30 he literally said the penguins are rescued. i know life in captivity isnt great but a lot of zoos/aquariums rescue animals that wouldnt have had a chance to survive on their own in the wild. as for the ones that dont do rescue, that's a different story and i would never wish to support that
@@haketyu7891 they are actually a non profit under the AZA they are more for rescuing animals and doing research than they are for exploitation. It’s like a sanctuary that also does wildlife management, funds other conservation efforts, rehabilitates animals, and allows the public to find it by getting to be a part to it
Just from someone in healthcare, when wearing a mask it is important to make sure it is sealed at the bridge of your nose. It just defeats the purpose if the nose isn’t covered for both protecting yourself and others.
I love that the song at the beginning is "Carnival of the Animals: VII. Aquarium". It's by the French Romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns if anyone else was curious!
I don't think he is afraid of being infected. He is more afraid of infecting others, being a silent carrier, the reason why he is covering his mouth not nose.
you realize wearing masks don't do much to protect you right? unless it's a gas mask. check out the cdc and who websites and other studies done on the effectiveness of masks
Wildlife should not be in captivity in the first place! I wish ppl would understand that and stop giving money to these places. U can't respect them just by loving them.
@@haketyu7891 most of these animals are rescued and have been deemed non releasable. Also this aquarium is a non profit that conducts its own research and conservation but also helps fund other global initiatives as well.
@@haketyu7891 Yeah stop giving money to these places so the animals can't eat, the employees who went through school and got these jobs and love their work to death don't get paid and eventually let go, and so funding for research and conservation can cease. Forget places like these have rescue animals and have saved and still are saving species from extinction. Did you actually think of the good, or did you let your feelings and projected emotions onto animals who are obviously behaving as they would in the wild get in the way of logic?
I went to this place a while back, and honestly, this video doesn't do it justice. If you ever get the opportunity to, I highly recommend going. It really is so fantastic there and it's an absolutely gargantuan place. Thank you to all the people that are working there even through this crisis for the sake of the animals and all the people whose lives have been touched by them.
born & raised in Atlanta, Georgia but I moved to Oregon about 5 or 6 years ago and I haven’t been over to the aquarium since. thanks for giving me a little bit of peaceful nostalgia at a time like this. such an enchanting place to visit, and I’m always happy to be reminded of the wonderful memories I have from all my time spent there. home’s where the heart is. 💞
This aquarium is so beautiful!! I’m from Atlanta Georgia and I go there a lot million of times and I love going there every single time!! ❤️ thank you buzzfeed for having a video from my hometown!!
Definitely must be calming and just at the same time being the only one there you look around and it's just kinda like wow you know it's amazing all the creatures everything but it would be nice for other people to see it hopefully soon but even being there alone it's quite , calming and just amazing.
I go there every year since I live really close and am bummed I haven’t yet been able to go this year. I can’t wait to go again soon!! If you ever get a chance, totally go!! It’s amazing!!
The Georgia Aquarium is so beautiful! My oldest daughter was supposed to have a field trip there this month, she was really bumbed about not being able to go.
This should be cute and calming but all I can do is have anxiety about how his mask isn’t being worn properly and towards the end he lowers his mask COMPLETELY 😱
Lovely video, thank you. As an animal enthusiast who loves learning more about socializing and interacting with wildlife for education, I'd love to see more videos on your sessions and relationships to the animals you help protect. I believe it also serves to show people that what you do is vital and that their contributions help the animals live enriching lives since they cannot live in the wild. ♡♡♡
Practical Experts I don’t recommend you judge people by their pfp that could be their farther or they just look older than they are. Just my two cents.
I can’t come up with a name yes, but the whole point is that it covers your nose and mouth. This kind of mask isn’t that effective as it is so it’s important to have one that fits properly if that’s what you’re using
I lived in Atlanta while they were still talking about this. Unfortunately I had to move before they finished. I miss living in the South before politics got so bad.
So bittersweet looking at this video, I came to this aquarium last year for my birthday. Some parts of the video I would get this flashback of what I was doing and what I saw there 🥺🥺❤️ looks even more peaceful with not many people there
I've been to that specific aquarium and i have to say its one of the best experiences I've had in my life the main ocean viewing room is absolutely epic ... one of the best aquariums in the whole world!
@@paigepeach9882 Still different, I was wrong however, it technically is airborne but not through air particles, through droplets like I stated before, same with TB. TB however builds fluid up while COVID inflames. So still quite different.
How absolutely adorable and how lucky for you to get to hold a baby (even though you did say “juvenile) penguin on your lap. I am sooooo envious. The noises and snuggling he/she made were just precious.
2:57 why does this make me want to cry of cuttness BCS since penguins are my fav animal and half of this vid is dedicated to them makes me so happy 🐦🐧🐦🐧🐦🐧🐦🐧
It's to prevent spitting, or passing Covid through liquids from the mouth, he's more concerned about spreading the disease by being a silent carrier, rather than being infected from breathing it in.
I work in a museum, and this is the best time to change our exhibits and update general exhibits! We’re moving all the objects now all the time, writing new texts and making interactive material. And I always visit our 7.000 year old skeletons to make sure that they aren’t lonely 😁
I love this place. Took my boyfriend last year and we sat in the display room for 20 minutes watching the marine life swim by. I miss this place and definitely will make another trip to Atlanta, GA again one day
I really appreciate his detailed explanation yet being able to take in the environment that he is in. Saying that he doesn't usually have to opportunity to even head to the gallerys due to him working behind the scenes must have really been a very busy schedule for him and so this was probably a small but treasured moment for him to experience the gallery by himself let alone without the crowds.
i work(ed) at an aquarium before the stay at home order and i miss the animals so much🥺 i was once at work during a power outage and it was so peaceful and i can only imagine that’s what it feels like rn
If you still wanna see the aquarium they have a youtube channel with daily livestreams of the exhibits and behind-the-scenes videos with some cute baby animals. It's super relaxing.
Since quarantine i had soo much time for my tanks, they look completely new. These people litterally living my dream. Would sell my soul to care for these tanks. Sadly, i don't have a soul.
Support your Local Hospitals so we can beat this Pandemic! Then we can go out to beautiful places like this again! A Win Win! 👍 (Oh also if you can support the World Wildlife Fund meanwhile so those animal cousins of ours get taken care of too! 👍 ❤)
