Great job, Mel. I bought this two weeks ago to use with my i5-12600K and it keeps temps very well in hand (72c in Cinebench 23). And it did come with the LGA1700 backplate. The dome is a bit too 'milky' for my tastes but still looks good in the case.

Thank you Tradcat for your support! 72 seems ok for a 12600k, I will get to actually testing that again soon! How's the mounting for the LGA1700? hahaha milky! I would like if i could rotate the orientation of the dome though :)

@@RealMelTan The mounting is good, firm and effective on my Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro DDR4. If the mounting isn't ideal, there's nothing on an i5 12600K to indicate it. I'm thinking about exchanging my i5 12600K for an i9 12900K, and that will be a stouter test for the Illusion. I absolutely agree with you about rotating the dome, as I prefer to mount the coldplate with tubes at 6 o'clock so that they don't obscure my lovely ARGB-encrusted RAM modules. Coolermaster does good reliable work, I hope they can integrate a rotatable dome/cap into future AIO's.

@@tradcatpat2385 Wow damn the 12900k will really push this AIO. I would be glad to know if this illusion can do 70 plus too for the i9. I do like that the back plate for the motherboard is not as flimsy as the MSI S360, especially for lga 1700. On an another note, I am gonna review another cooler master AIO soon, so let's see if we can rotate his dome :)

@@RealMelTan I ended up getting the i7 12700K, as it was really the P cores I was after and my usage scenario doesn't justify the extra cost of the i9 12900K. I can share that with Multi-core Enhancement Enabled and running Prime95 Small FFTs, it reached 100C. So, there does seem to be a limit to its cooling capacity and I think it wouldn't be able to tame an i9 12900K without throttling. The same i7 12700K with MCE Disabled reached a more prosaic 80C in Prime 95 Small FFT's. I am planning to swap out the Halo fans for a trio of EK Vardar fans. I'm really interested to see how much of a difference that makes, as the Halo fans have about half the max CFM + H2O the Vardar's do.

Just bought mine this week and when I installed it.. It's also misaligned the logo is quite off center, I saw you installed yours offcenter too, are you able to fix the misalignment?

I have this and rgb logo is rotated a little and manufacturer said I can turn a cover but I cant it’s too tight

Hmm It cools the 12600k pretty well! (But 12th gen is pretty cool anyway) One gripe I may have is that the CPU fan wire is kinda short. I wish it can be longer, because some boards, like ASUS, have the AIO pump header next to the socket. Makes it kinda ugly for wire mgmt, I can't route it to the other side.

This looks like it will tame even the 12900K with little issue with the 1700 brackets. Or wait until the 1700 brackets come pre-packaged.

@@RealMelTan nope..just wanted a1 controller only... because that controller is argb gen 2, can REAL daisy chain with 3pin argb.

@@hanmaruf2919 If the ARGB is daisy-chained (like seen in this video) and connected to just 1 port of the A1 controller, are we able to individually control the LEDs on the fans? Eg, have 1 fan to be blue and another to be red?

@@imraneo yes..because argb new product cooler master is argb gen 2 .. mostly argb right now is gen 1...
