An auction scammer looks to rip someone off for over $100,000 with this doctored up Lamborghini Urus

I learned my lesson with the "Mistake" so hopefully I can keep someone else from making a mistake that might not turn out as well as mine. This 2021 Lamborghini Urus was first at an auction in Houston, TX. It was purchased by a dealer in Miami, FL and underwent a little sprucing up. Did they fix the important parts? No, but they did make it look a little better, just don't look too closely. They must have been sponsored by Duck tape and zip ties. Let's take a look at it and see what was done.

Hi Scott. SalvageRebuilds had an experience with a Lamborghini here in the UK. I think from memory it had been written off twice in the states & had been bodged before appearing on a Copart sale here with no apparent damage. I think it appeared as HPi clear ( like your clear title) Got to be so damn careful. Too many unscrupulous people about. Glad you're one of the good guys, thats how i found you, repairing that god awful customers blue Chevrolet that had a bodged OS repair! 😳

I really liked the video as it was a change up from what you typically do and it gives most of us who don’t know how these auctions work some insight into how they work. I’m no where near your skill level but I have some auto repair skill and a nice shop to work out of. I’ve often wondered how to go about buying a car or pickup from an auction to rebuild… without getting burned. Traveling to an auction site with a trailer isn’t a problem for me. I used to watch other RU-vid rebuilder channels that had a focus on trucks and cars most of us can afford to buy. Once they started rebuilding the over the top expensive cars I quit watching. Anyway I’m looking forward to the next rebuild but it would be nice to see these educational videos once in a while too from someone who knows what he is talking about.

Scott, I am very happy you did this video. I bought a 2020 GMC Denali with the Duramax diesel 4X4 from copart. It was a nightmare. it not only was doctored up. It didn't even have the correct frame, engine, transmission, transfer case and so on. The list goes on and on. I would love to send you some pictures of this truck. I have been in the body shop trade for over 35 years. I had to fight with Copart. They claim they didn't know this truck was doctored up this bad. There position was "as is". However, I also work with law enforcement so I was able to prove that they could not legally sell this truck because the frame alone had the wrong vin number. Not to mention it was a short bed frame on a long bed truck. Needless to say everything was welded, drilled etc. To make it look good for the pictures. Did I also mention they also took ALL the electrical out of the truck including under the dash and door panels? Again, I would love to share this story to you personally to help people out there to beware. One more thing, remember I said they wouldn't have sold that truck if they knew about all the problems ? Well, 8 months later I found the same truck try and go through again at the same Copart. Lesson learn is you can't trust even the auction. Do your research !!! I hope to hear from you, Ron

Awesome video. It has been a number of years since I was buying at Copart or IAA, but the same old tricks are evidently still going. I used to buy just Hondas and Acuras, mainly performance versions to part out, and expanded to include Subarus for a bit, and basically "for sale by private seller" was a do not bid unless it was basically scrap price. the number of cars with engines that had been swapped either for a base model, or had a blown engine (or flood car engine) swapped in was staggering 10 years ago. Keep these vids up sir! Also FREE MR SPOTTY
