The world will be a much darker place when this fantastic man leaves us. Thank god he has left us such a rich seam of comedy and seriously good film and tv work to enjoy.
I watched this whole show with my mother, many years ago, we both fell to the floor laughing so much. Mum has been dead for quite a while now, but when I watch this she’s right there exclaiming in her lady like fashion, Oh, he is rather naughty, isn’t he. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Its been an absolute pleasure listening to the Big Yin through out the years. Never will there be another guy like him, a true legend in his own right. If you are ever having a day your feeling a bit down or nothing is going your way... Watch a few clips of this genius at work, it will make you forget all about it. Billy should be sainted for the common person that can just laugh at something they see in everyday life.... An eye for the peculiar and the funny is such a rare thing because we are taught to take life to seriously
He is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest comedian EVER. Man I can remember watching this in my teens when it came out in the 80's, hilarious then, and probably even more so now. I've seen this loads of times over the years and never get tired of it. All these poncy new comedians couldn't lick Billy's banana boots. Michael McIntyre! Michael Fxxxxxx MacIntyre! I'll give you Michael MacIntyre, and all the rest of them. Keep going Billy...
I heard solo concert when I was 15 in the seventies, it was so good even Jesus found it funny, then I nearly burst my sides watching Billy Connolly bites yer bum, is the funniest thing I ever saw, I lived in White street opposite Billy and his family, they were all nice people I went to the same schools as him, and heard the same singers at parties, that's what makes it so funny, I live in Los Angeles now and have met people who knew Billy here, when I came he moved back to the UK. Sad to hear he has Parkinson's, thank you Big Man you are the king of comedy.
Remember seeing this when it first came out. I thought, at the time, that it was the funniest stand-up I had ever seen and all these years later, despite seeing some great performances from other comedians, I stand by my opinion. Pure comic genius!
This a big SAY. but IMO billy connolly is the greatest standup to walk on stage. I know folks have there favourite stand up comic. But for me the big yin billy connolly is the greatest.
@Yo Yo He's not top for me, but it's so close I could never argue with anyone who says he is. Here in the states we talk about the "Mount Rushmore" of things. 4 best presidents, athletes, singers, etc. My Mount Rushmore of comedy is George Carlin, Billy Connoly, Robin Williams, and Richard Pryor.

Yeah the fact he can get up with no actual routine prepared and just freestyle some of the funniest shit is pretty amazing. Just a naturally funny guy I guess
There must be at least 8 members of the audience who left us way before they should have including Rick Parfitt, Roy Kinnear and Paula Yates. It's poignant to see a master comedian entertaining the late Ludovic Kennedy and Bob Hoskins. Billy kept them rocking in the aisles. A classic performance.
OOR Billie we will never see the likes of the Big yin ever again,so sit back and njoi the that today has gone and more PCorrectness dry humour a lot of Scots humour is like billies stories the hardships and suffering I had this done to me by lets just say people,they only way to deal with it is to do it thru funny things or tragedies because when you look back you can either laugh or cry ,you never forget and it can consume you or make you hateful and bialy is a master at these things that happened to him and maybe bears his soul for all to see ,and making someone laugh is a great tonic and gift that few possess.
