In his prime, the funniest man on the planet...... what's unusual about this show is that he wasn't allowed to swear (primetime TV) and he was still funny. And I loved him swearing - it was such an intrinsic part of who he was. Rest easy, Sir Billy, you were a Godsend and I hope you're aware of how much you're loved.
CMW14 Games Read the last sentence..... I think most people would deduce from that that I realise he’s not dead (i.e. “how much you’re loved”.... present tense). My father had Parkinson’s, and it can be extremely stressful for the sufferer, inducing high anxiety, hence “rest easy” (i.e. ‘relax, take it easy.....’). Do you know what’s wrong with a lot of people who comment on RU-vid? They’re fucking argumentative morons like you.
This has got to be an edited version ... there's a good 20 minutes missing at the end where he answers audience questions. It fits in right before (in part 5 of this) he says "I'm gonna leave you with a complaint ..."
Yes, it is the edited version, used to have unedited on dvd, or could have been the video. (Ye' that long). Might get the dvd again, no way will unedited version be on here. Major segment near the end like you say where he answers questions.
Totally - I had the full version on VHS, but loads missing on DVD and online - tried for years to find, but no luck - I especially love the story about tearing down the tenements with all the moving of the doors :)
Kevin Bridges who? no, I love Kevin, but in terms of stand up comedy Billy was the ORIGINAL. You can see where Kevin gets his influence. This is my all time fave stand up show. Still fall about laughing now
God I want to enjoy this but the edits are awful. You may have not noticed it but now you will joke - audience shot - joke audience shot sprinkled with too much canned laughter
I've worked in TV. EVERYTHING is scheduled. An applause sign. Where people sit. Who's can be in the audience. Even laughers are brought in. So, even though Billy is great, the audience is a pain in the ass. Notice how they keep trying to find famous people in the front audience to focus the camera on? That's TV. For ALL PROGRAMS. Not just this one. Billy is GREAT though. Would sure like to see the blocked parts.
as Billy is now suffering from Parkinsons disease its safe to say he wont be surfing youtube to see if Anne Macleod liked a video from 30 years ago he didnt even upload to here.
