Skidonti Nice that's a good deal. It's hard to find them since a lot of people don't properly post what model they are listing. The AGS-101 usually sell for at least $50-60 USD ($40 if you're lucky) I just grabbed one for $35 without a charger but I have quite a few of them already, and I'm looking forward to swapping the pearl blue case out with a white one.

Pmike404 I always look for unlisted 101s. Even if you can't see the number you can tell by the colors of the body, buttons, and screen. I think people have been getting more savvy to that, though, and even unlisted ones get bidding wars. $35 is a good price as well. Recently I was glancing around a bit for a really crappy 101 to do an original GBA backlight mod, didn't find anything real cheap.

When I sell things and people ask me to end early, it annoys me sometimes. So I can see what others rarely do. Still, worth a shot I guess, even if it does annoy the seller.

It kinda depends on preferences. If you were modding a GB or some other handheld with a front light kit, the diffuser will cover the screen and it does add some darkness to the overall colors. Unfortunately I have only seen back light kits for the original GBA.

They're hard to find here too. I ended up buying a US one and refurbishing it (replaced the casing etc). RetroGameTech is just a lucky git.

SmoothEmJay Even finding one in the US is hard, many people selling them just don't know what they have, either the label on the back has worn off or they lost the charger. I think part of the reason they are so rare is because they launched shortly after the Gameboy Micro and a year the Nintendo DS. I think many people just ended up buying the DS since it had a GBA cartridge slot on the bottom or maybe the Micro because it was something weird. That being said I love the GB Micro because of it's small size and backlit screen, and 3.5mm audio jack.

Ahh I always figured they were much more common in the US but you could well be right there. I also have a micro, the Japanese Mario anniversary edition that looks like a famicom controller. Awesome little piece of kit. Very small with a great screen as you say.

SmoothEmJay Yes the Japanese Famicom version is the one I have as well. The American equivalent doesn't have "Happy Mario 20th" logo on the back or the cool box.

Pretty sure I have one. looks exactly like the one in the Ebay auction shown in the video. Got it a year or two ago because I wanted to have more ways to play GBA games and this was the one I liked. I have the old lightless model of the GBA and the lack of a light makes the system less... of a pleasure to use now.

It could also be the dust things that got into the screen while manufacturing, if you're careful you can get it out.

Gillanator Sadly, it isn't. It's been fine for years and now it's gone funny. It's not dust though.

Backlit screen on the 101 is far better quality, look at the link in the description.

***** That is not uncommon. If the woman was that concerned about the price she should have researched. It's not hard. I've heard of people picking up six figure paintings for like 20 bucks at garage sales before.
