Larry Hawley has more on the catcher and outfielder, who are likely to be traded before the August 2nd deadline, on what could be their final games as Cubs in a 4-2 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
Never though I’d be so angry with the cubs the 16 team was a scary good lineup should’ve been a dynasty sad to see the last of the boys that brought that championship back to chicago dismantled
Idk about a dynasty... that never got in my head like it did most people. But 100% they should've been a more serious contender for a longer period of time. Them and the Astros were both awful in the early 2010s and got good and made the playoffs at the same time in 2015. 7 years later and the Astros are still as strong as ever. The Cubs tho...
Before you go blaming the Cubs tell me who you would want? Rizzo currently as a .221 BA. He has 71 hits in 321 at bats. They offered him 70M and he thinks he is worth more. Jake Arietta was toast when the cut him lose. Chapman has been very average. Bryant finally hit a homer after being hurt most of the year. He has a total of 5. Kyle Scwarbs is leading the league in homers, he also has 71 hits, almost half 30 are homers and he is hitting 202. Which brings me to Baez and his .218 batting average to go along with 9 taters.for his 150m he gives you a .9 war. The team was assembled for 2017-2021 and the forgot how to hit and still can’t. Exactly who are you pining for the to have signed?
@@michaelgerhardt7130 but together they were magical. You can never take that away. Apart they are men without a country. Together they changed history
@@naswiipp I loved each and every player, the fact that we recycled Arretta, the fact we traded the future for Chapman, - Baez was special in EVERYTING that he does, Bryzzo were special players. But that was 2016. They also had 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 to try and win again, and Failed miserably. While I was sad to see them go, being saddled with a substantial debt and just average to just above stats to show for it, is not a great way to run a baseball team. Who knows what the future brings but it is near impossible to win without some contribution from cheap labor - young ball player hungry for a title.
