DuoStuff i was playing it on my wii u, and i straight used restore points, after the computer pulled their fish, and EVERY SINGLE ONE i pulled ended up making me lose. I restored 20 times
The hardest difficulty ai in this game is unrealistically hard is all I remember like I had to make up a new method of button pressing to compete with how fast they are
Achievements I've done over the 11 years of owning Mario Party DS - hitting 0.0 on Study Fall - getting all of the Goombas in Call of the Goomba - winning by drawing Loss in Double Vision - catching all of the stars in Star Catcher - speedrunning Cucumber Jacks - BEATING PIRHANNA PLANT
@@DuoStuff you cover a lot of interesting things and honestly your content is a breath of fresh air. I have been binging you and pad chennington for the past hour
Dude I am still playing this game with my brothers. My brother is a beast at solo fast food frenzy, it's impossible to escape. Mario Party DS, 8 and 9 will be the best forever
I actually ruined my ds's screen by using a wire to play cherry go round. Like really no one covers these really fun and cool mini games and this is the only channel to talk about it. Favorites: Goomba wrangler Short fuse Chips and dips aka rng hell Cyber scampers Trace cadets I really love this game and it's the one I grew up with. I'm honestly just surprised no one has really talked much about this game. Used to play it with my brothers all the time. Good times.
First: WHY DID YOU USE A WIRE TO PLAY?!? XD Second: I honestly think Mario Party DS is just underrated. Like no one really talks about it anymore. Third: Funny that most of your favorites are my least favorites. XD
My favourite game of All time, sadly my R4 card disappeard, and when i Found it, it didnt work anymore :( but i had Lots of fun with the game and made wonderfull memorys
I'm honestly kinda shocked that several people have recognized the music. I just didn't think many people who'd watch a video like this would be Danganronpa fans. XD
I think if I had to list my five favorites... 5. Soap Surfers 4. Globe Gunners 3. Cube Crushers 2. Camera Shy 1. Fast Food Frenzy Though, I can also list my five _least_ favorites. 5. Pedal Pushers 4. Chips and Dips 3. Twist and Route 2. Crazy Crosshairs 1. Soil Toil
I'm just gonna be that guy: Shorty scores is not Soccer, but Handball. I'm not sure how well-known Handball is around the globe, but it's pretty popular over here in Germany.
When I used to play this with friends and relatives we knew the characters were handling the ball and bouncing it but still called it "the soccer one" 😂😂 (or "the football one" since I'm Irish) P.S. I used to play Handball in primary school all the time during PE it was great, the only sport I could win back then 😂
I remember my DS’s top screen literally broke, it was pure black, and I was playing the soil racing game and made a new record. I’m still proud of it to this day
Anybody here remember Triangle Twisters and those minigames that were brought back from older titles? I spent so much time on this, that I got over 50,000 Mario Party Points, thus unlocking all the statues and stamps and stuff. Personal favourite minigame? Raft Riot. I was just so damn good at it. And I'm gonna say it: This is the best of the handheld Mario Partys by far.
I loved to play this game😍 And now that I notice, the characters in almost all minigames are sized down just like in the main mode. Really cool detail that they managed to create new minigames based around that😋
Yeah I always appreciated the fact that the mini theme translated to a lot of the game, not just the story mode. Like the majority of the minigames are crafted in some kind of area that makes you feel small, like having soap surfers be in a sink, or hanger management having you hang from a literal hanger. It's a cool detail.
This is the most underrated Mario party game; it doesn’t have those stupid cars and it feels like Mario party unlike most of the other mobile Mario party games
Mario Party DS is really nostalgic to me and the minigames are solid, but nobody talks about this game. When I was young my favorite games were Flash and Dash, Crazy Crosshairs, Boogie Beam, Hedge Honcho, Shorty Scorers, Raft Riot, Hanger Management, Globe Gunners, Soap Surfers, Track Star, Cucumberjacks and my favorite Dust Buddies. (As you can tell I'm biased to this game) Everyone should at least experience this game as it's really fun and the most played game on my DS, I just got 50000 MP recently so I have played a lot of it. I'm glad you are talking about this as people should know about this game more.
Years ago me and my cousins would always mario party DS. Good times😢 My older cousins are either in uni or at work, everytime I look at them now they still seem so much more mature than me. I'm in college and I still play games. Heck, I even play MPDS with my younger sisters, but it doesn't feel the same, as I used to be the worst now at it compared to my cousins but now I'm the best compared to my sisters. And it don't feel right
Hey dude, there's nothing wrong with still enjoying games when you're older. It's a normal pass time for people of our generation, and anyone telling you you're less mature for enjoying it needs to get a little more mature themselves. Just enjoy what you enjoy. The world can be a rough place, but it'll get even rougher if you let it suck away the things that keep you going.
We used to have to play it on the bus because if we got caught playing with our DS at school, they would take it (even at lunch or recess), and that was risky. The teachers weren't known for being gentle with electronic devices they took, with one particularly notable example being a substitute who took an ipod from someone and slam it in a drawer so hard that the ipod legit stopped working.
double vision and cube crushers are the best minigames in this game periodt! double vision would always make my sister and i laugh just bc of how funny the drawings would look
Glad to see some appreciation for marioparty ds. This video doesn't cover games that use the microphone, so i wanna give a shoutout to short fuse. It's one of the most chaotic and fun minigames with friends
No clue why but I just somehow like about every minigame in Mario Party DS. Thing was that, except for the boss mode, I *only* played with friends and family, resulting in (just like you said) a lot of screaming, a lot of laughing and a lot of broken relationships. But other than that, I just freaking loved this game so much and the minigames are perfect...Okay I gotta admit that Nostalgia takes the better of me here but idk.
dude, Mario Party DS' minigames were so good! I genuinely enjoyed all of them, some more than others, but there were literally not one I did not like at all, which is very rare
This has to be the best variety of mini games in my opinion. This game makes use of all the different features the DS has to offer, and they all vary from each other too, so there is a great selection. Some of my faves would be: Shorty scorers Cucumber jacks Trace cadets Twist and route Domino effect Short fuse Dust buddies
DuoStuff it was, not many people have covered this game really and I couldn’t find much on it at the time besides “it’s mini games!” So passed on it at the time. So finally cool to see a legit video on it.
Grammar Police Reject really?? I played this game a ton as a kid and I love it & remember it very well. Although I had... an embarrassing number of hours in that game so that might explain it 😅😆
Here we go, my opinion. Goomba Wrangler- It's alright, a little underwhelming though and really easy, if only there were a few extra added bits, like maybe Monty Moles pop in and out the ground and they are worth more points? Rail Riders- It's okay, I don't like using styluses on minigames so maybe I'm a bit biased? Dress For Success- I like it, just wish it was harder Camera Shy- I played hours of this as a kid, definitely one of, if not the best minigames in this game. Hedge Maze- Ehhhhh, it's okay I'll finish later
my sister used to bully me so much playing Camera Shy. I swear it's the only game she ever wanted to play. Great vid! Nice to see more love for the (in my opinion) best mario party!
Man you just gave me an idea for my obscure game podcast to shed light on my favorite mario party ds minigames and cucumberjacks was always my favorite I was too good at it.
@@DuoStuff woah did the goat duo respond back to me regardless I loved your mario party ds video essays and your overall videos you put a lot of care into them and I hope to reach your standard of quality too.
I had two favorite mini games. The first one is camera shy, and the second is star catcher (I liked Star Catcher because it was one of the only games I could beat my brother in )
Looking back I’m surprised some of the ds mini games weren’t in super stars, such as dust buddy’s, camera shy, globe runners, co-op freezer minigame, regular soccer, call of the goombas/ the music box minigame using slow movements with the analog stick and more.
It's interesting just how many people mention that this video is nostalgic. I straight up didn't even know if people would be into this idea. XD I'm glad you enjoyed the video though. =D
Eh, it's not the biggest deal if we don't agree on a minigame. There are a ton of them, so it'd be almost impossible for us to share the exact same opinion on every single one.
11:41 This minigame was the best at identifying how good of an aftermarket stylus you had. The cheap ones would be shredded to a nub after a single round.
Believe it or not I used to be scared of hedge maze. I was terrified of bees even though I've never been stung, and the first time I played it the bee came at me I threw my ds in fright. The ds was fine btw lol
Fun fact: I have this game on Wii U as well, and on that you can create restore points that bring you back to the same point. So, as a test, I played Cheep Cheep Chance. And legit every single rope made me lose. I would pick one, lose, use a restore point, then move to the next, so on, until I used every rope. All of them were wrong. Essentially, there is no strategy. If the game assigns you with a loss, then you lose.
Mario Party DS was such a treat! Me and my friends played this game together during quarantine! (Don’t worry we were allowed to meet up with each other at the time) :)
DuoStuff It really was! I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t played with friends in a while. I’m sure you’ll get a chance to do so one day, and trust me when I say this, it’ll be worth the wait :)
Funny story with Cheep Chump, If you are in the top left, then in order to win you literally just need to face the corner and mash the button, for some reason they have more space than everyone else and the cheep cheeps can’t reach you there
My first and only Mario Party game I've ever owned and it still holds up to this day! I don't know how many hours I put into this to be honest😅 Also how do you suck at the cucumber game its the easiest one
It makes me really happy to see video content on these underrated DS gems from my childhood. I have so many fond memories of Marioparty DS. I loved playing it with my siblings and friends. I also got a ton of mileage out of playing it solo, and spent many hours unlocking everything I could for my gallery. I haven't gotten to play this game with anybody since like 2012 though, so I really miss it. I'm gonna try and get my coworker pals to play this game with me in a few days from now on Monday, when we all hang out. It's been too long, and they all have a Ds, and have played marioparty before. Really hoping to relive the multiplayer glory of this game, once more. Please do a video on the multiplayer of Metroid Prime Hunters (ignore the singleplayer, that was never the point of that game to begin with). That was such an underrated DS game, and it had such an amazing multiplayer experience for its time. Its the only nintendo game of its kind, and really should have become their multiplayer FPS game. I'm still mad that they made federation force over Hunters 2. So underrated, with so much potential! There's another multiplayer gem I really miss playing with friends. Metroid Prime Hunters, Marioparty Ds, and Mariokart were the holy trinity of DS multiplayer experiences.
First: Dude I hope that Mario Party DS meetup happens. That honestly sounds like a blast. Second: Well I plan to go back to the Metroid series *eventually* to cover all the 3D titles, Hunters included. Though I won't just talk about the multmultiplayer. Gotta talk about the singleplayer as well.
