This is unlike any stand-up routine I've ever seen. Everything about it feels unscripted, totally organic, nothing but in-the-moment observation. And he never misses a beat. Such a unique talent.
it WAS unscripted. He was the only comedian I've ever seen who could get up and jokes for 90 minutes about anything that came into his head and they were all funny! I've seen this show many times and I still laughed like a loon tonight.
Ever heard the saying, "Not everything is a joke."? Robin Williams was the living opposition of such a saying. This man was and forever will be the Freestyling Comedian of all time.
He had tonnes of "ad-lib" material because he stole material from other comedians. David Brenner threatened him about it and comedians used to get a special light at the Improv to let them know Robin had come in so they would stop performing. He even admitted to doing it on Marc Maron's Podcast.
Someone once said he was a national treasure. I believe it he was one in a million and is truly missed all over the world, i really hope where ever he is hes making the people around him laugh and all his troubles are gone. Love you Robin.
this guy was really one of a kind and uniqe in his own , true charisma ,pressence , he knew how to controll an entire stage while he performed , he is truly missed , the world of entertainment really lost something huge when he past , he could do something of value with everything , he could make others happy with his performance while he was unhappy within but did not show it in public , damn , may he rest in peace the poor soul , he truly deserv it .
This was recommended to me by an Uber driver in SF on my way to a date. The date didn't go very well but I got to watch this after and it was a good night 😀
Princess Diana is alive! Yes, and it’s time the world begins to awaken to this Truth and so much more. Not only is our beloved Princess still with us, but so is John F. Kennedy, Jr., Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and Lauren Bessette. There’s also a long list of celebrities and entrepreneurs including David Bowie, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Robin Williams, Steve Jobs, and Whitney Houston. So, how does one account for something as unbelievable as this? Well, each person named above, and those whose names haven’t been revealed yet, have their own story, and soon you’ll be learning about it. However, in the meantime, here’s the short version. Each one of these people, at one point, entered into a worldwide witness protection program. Wondering what these individuals needed protection from? It’s something the likes of which the average man or woman has never been confronted with. Although it may sound funny, each one of us will eventually have a role in the “Big Picture,” too. What is it? We need to respectfully listen to their stories and begin to understand the “as yet, unrecognized threat” that humanity has been living amongst. Bottom line is that we must give these brave people an opportunity to tell their stories and face head-on the Truths that we’ll be given in order to protect our families and ourselves now and forever more. Best way for us to complete our responsibility is to have unwavering faith in our Creator, God Eternal.
Thank you for the Man of 100 Faces and 1.000 Voices. Thank you for all you`ve done. Robin made my Childhood much, much better. And i think i speek for All of us when i say- We need more Man like him, even today ...NO...specialy today

I was at atiny improv theater off Melrose summer 1983ish. Robin Williams was in front of me watching whoever was up there and at some point he jumped up there and started being Robin Williams. It was one of my best memories.
That ending got me, especially when he said “you’re gonna be keeper of the flame” and “you keep it for a while, then give it to your little one”, it felt so prophetic, cause he did carry the flame for many of us, love you Robin xx
Don't ever forget the Original...Jonathan Winters, who befriended Robin about this time.I could be mistaken but I think this special originally aired on Cinemax...that is where I first saw it... originally...
@@brandon10301991 I'm checking right here and it looks like we have your reservation for a spot in hell right next to Edison, would you like to verify now or a week before?
My hero.. childhood idol... The day I learned that you took your life before I took mine I vowed to follow in your footsteps and be a great comedian/actor/voice impersonator. Robin, Im reaching the end of my rope. I'm breaking, I can't keep putting a smile on my face when there's so much pain weighing me down. I can't handle it, but I don't want to bring pain to anyone. I love making people laugh, but I don't know how to get out of Arkansas and make it big. I need help........ I miss you
Imagine His take on "The Pandemic"...I can almost hear him going off in left-field!! And can you imagine ALL of the jokes that he would've come up with (daily) after Trump's collosic fails on those afternoon addresses "to the people"...LOL, sometimes it was all that I could do to keep from peeing my pants at Trump's rediculas statements...Robin was probably saying who the f!@*> is this POS...Dan Quayle got off easy!!!
The last monologue was nearly prophetic as to the reasons for his own end. The world lost a much needed spark of wonderfully whimsical madness and laughter when he took his final bow. Now we still have madness, but a grim sort with nobody is there to help us laugh through it. Rest Easy Robin, You deserve it ❤️
Just finished watching this routine tonight. I am not ashamed to say that I shed a more than a few tears and self reflection on how someone who brought so much joy to people has left me with something to rethink about life...

This was the first Robin Williams stand up I ever saw, watching it again not only makes me happy but a little sad knowing that he's gone and I'll never have the chance to meet him. I hope his legacy lives on forever. I miss that man.
We will never get over you'r passing, dearest Robin. You are forever missed and loved by all of us. Thank you for brighten up the world and for making it such a better place.. We will always love and miss you. ❤
Yes, I was thinking the same. It's strange to me because i learned early in life to deal and accept the "returning to home" for various family members died at a early age due to heart attacks. My grandma taught me. But Robin's passing was hard to accept for most people. His home and making people laugh and having a good time. 😔😁😁 Love you Robin! ❤️
This is going to sound weird, but this special just helped me get through a pretty intense dental appointment today (thanks anxiety 😂). The dentist let me listen to this with headphones while I was in the chair. What a testament to who Robin was in life though: to connect with people going through a rough time and make them laugh. I bet Heaven's a lot better with you up there Robin. Us mere mortals still love ya bunches from here!
Me! It's hard to believe he died so tragically! I wish he had sought out some professional help so he would not be so depressed He has a national treasure!
Robin Williams is one of a kind. He alone made this World a much better place for everyone. Sadly missed but never forgotten. May He rest in peace and May God bless his family.
Suicides automatically go to hell. Sorry to burst your Robin Williams worship bubble. Men never make the world a better place unless they spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. And they only do that by the Grace afforded to all by our God the Creator !!! Amen and Hallelujah !!!
@@mwmann Salvation is of grace, not works. There is only one unforgivable sin, and it's not suicide. (This is even assuming Williams committed suicide, of which there have been differing views.)
@@mwmannAbsolutely incorrect, if thou shall not kill ( including yourself) was the way its worded than you can't worship the military or " law enforcement " . Look up the word " hypocrisy "
I fucking miss this man. Now in these times more than ever. You brought joy to children, adults, and everyone between, Mr. Williams... I'm so glad that even though I'm so sad he's gone, he's material was so good and funny I can still watch it all and laugh. Fucking LEGEND.
I'm watching in September 2020 and Robin is still a sigh of relief. We loved him and will continue into the future. He was truly entertaining! Rest peacefully knowing anyone with half a brain misses you. You were a treasure! I understand. Xoxox...

I have a playlist with all the live shows and comedy albums of his that I could find. Been my go-to for background noise for the past few months. Even though I'm focusing on my redstone builds, his wit cuts through my focus and I can't help but smile. He was such a huge part of my childhood. Truly a force for good, and he will continue to be even after his passing. We love you, Robin.
The intro bit where he sneaks in is played so beautifully and nails the image of a man that can try and play as a flat accentless "hey". It's so...pure.
First time I saw Robin was Mork and Mindy, in the early 70's , What an amazing guy.. How sad that he didn't want to live anymore. The world needs more like him.
I had the privilege to watch this with some good friends on HBO in 1983. We were absolutely blown away. This is the funniest, most spontaneous in the moment comedian any of us had ever seen before or since. It was epic. We laughed or asses off! Rest in peace Robin. You brought laughter to millions.
tkslan00 Well then....that completely changes everything doesn’t it? What should we do? Start broadcasting his mistakes after his death. Take away all his fame, money, awards, achievements and memories? I am so glad I don’t have someone like you in my life so that after working my ass off and feeling happy with myself, I don’t have someone whispering in my ear about my inability to be flawless. Fuck Robin for not fulfilling all your expectations. Guess he got what was coming to him right? He should’ve asked for your forgiveness, but you were too busy whispering in his fucking ear to listen anyway.
We never know, what is in a person's heart or brain. Here he is a genious comedian who spent his life making us laugh but inside could not be happy himself. How many like him are amongst us? Be careful what you say to others, what you do to others, it can effect them forever in ways we may never realize.
It’s mid 2019, and I’m still sad about this. This was a man who lived his life making people laugh. He put everything he had into it. He had so much energy and a beautiful spirit. I didn’t know he was suffering. My best friend took his own life in 2015. You just never know what people are going through. Peace and love to everyone from Houston, TX. 🙏🏼
I seriously doubt even his family knew what he was going through. That is the thing about depression, you carry that inside and try your damnedest to not let ANYONE know because you don't want them to suffer as you are. It happens a lot with comedians too, sadly.
I wish you all new the facts his wife said he had Lbd Parkinson's and depression was a symptom. He knew he was losing his mind and couldn't remember anything. That would depress any of us.
I was just thinking the same. I know I dearly miss him, and many more from comedy stand up and movies. I just really hope we don't hear the same of Jim Carrey. Hoping that man comes back better than ever. I think with fame comes disappointment just like in grade school when you crave attention that your not getting from home, you become the class clown. You want everyone to like you but not everybody does. That harsh reality of you can't please them all and being able to Define what and who matters and what or who doesn't.
Someone the people that makes us laugh the most is hiding a lot of pain inside that no one can reach. No just celebrities, but people we know and love. You can be in room full of people, making them laugh hysterically, and be the loneliest person in the who room. That's depression in a nutshell.
diffuse Lewy body dementia for him was beyond hell. To know he was going to slowly lose his mind was too much and I don't think he wanted his family to have to see it either. I'm with you all. I wish there was a cure.
@@sarakelly3214 lewy body dementia is invidious and relatively slow. At the end the person can't remember how to eat and swallow and they either choke or are on feeding tubes. Not a pleasant way to die. My dad died that way.
I recently re-watched the Tonight show with Johnny Carson & Williams and Winters...I was turned on to Winters by my Grandparents in the 60's and then more w/Robin on Mork and Mindy...just sent videos to my 36yr old Son...keeping the chain going!! Those two could play Mental ping-pong faster and better than ALL
In honor of my only brother who took his life same as brother robin may they forever be next to God in heaven cause the only thing this earth gave them was torture

Truly one of a kind, brilliant, witty, supremely gifted with the ability 😀 to make people laugh ! So sad that while he was making us laugh 😃 ; he himself was battling inner demons 😈 that we couldn't see or understand ! Sadder still he lost that struggle. He did leave us a rich legacy of laughter 😃, his movies, his work with the USO visiting our Troops overseas to boost morale, his comedy albums or cassettes, and his TV and appearances on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show ! Thanks Robin and thanks RU-vid for posting this.
@@rnhealer6044 Well he was always one to make a joke about the worst of things, but it was his idea that if you can't laugh at even the worst times in life then it's a hard life to live. Laughter is the best medicine
@@billfahs5225 Bill, right after his coronary, George Carlin did an HBO special where many of his jokes had an angry, offensive edge to them. My husband and I didn't want to watch, because they weren't funny. I understood he why was angry, but it was hard to watch.

I highly respect Robin's talent and memory. I loved his wit and quickness. The tragedy of how he left us still effects me; I have Major Depressive Disorder. I have said this many times "he could make millions laugh, but couldn't make himself laugh". What I say is not to disrespect Robin, but rather to make people fully aware of how deadly and silent a killer depression is. Rip In Peace You will not be forgotten...
“Phenomenal Cosmic Powers! Itty Bitty Living Space!”, Robin Williams was and always will be the greatest, most brilliant and most of all loved Comedian forever and all time. We'll never forget you Robin, vaya con Dios friend.
I've never been a huge fan of his comedy, to scattered and physical, however, I think he was a brilliant dramatic actor, movies like Good Will Hunting, he was absolutely world class.
@@zoron8952 As someone with Bipolar I can say you are wrong. 1 in 100 of us has an amazing talent. But even the vast majority of that 1 in 100 never make in their chosen creative field. For most of us Bipolar is a fucking curse, as it was for Robin most of his life.
@Terry Blanton Read the many replies from broken hearts who truly miss him, then look within. You must have a great deal of pain in your life to make you lash out like that.
This is the epitome of watching genius in action! The man is just riffing, working the room and displaying razor sharp wit! His timing and delivery are spot on. We truly lost a comedic master and gifted actor that will never be duplicated! RIP Robin
Huge fan of Mr. Williams. His death was a tragic loss for his family and millions of fans. I saw this video in 1983 and it was a hoot . . .Then. The best part is his into as a newsboy, but the rest has not aged well. I guess tastes change.
My favorite Robin Williams moments were watching him on Carson. He would have Johnny laughing so hard, tears would be streaming from his eyes. The world will never be the same after his passing.
watch the episode of Johnny Carson with Robin Williams and Billy Crystal on it, because they were playing off of each other and Johnny was just dying of laughter
He'd b happy 2 know he's making us laff thru Covid/2020...."I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it's like to feel absolutely worthless n they don't want anyone else to feel like that." ..Bless Ur soul, Robin.
He should have been called comedian of the century. No one has ever matched his talent, energy and ability to make everyone laugh, non-stop. May he RIP!
