Forgot to mention damage types. “Enhanced” versions of abilities are magic damage while normal are physical. oGCD’s, Flechte and Contre Six, are physical. Non-enhanced and the oGCDs do not gain the buff from Embolden. I didn’t know that for far too long.
Ok tyvm for this info i was wondering why would be worth it to use manafication+embolment if im gonna lose like 6-7 secs of that magic dmg buff by doing meelee attacks
Well, you should never use non-enchanted (and not enhanced) versions of your sword attacks anyway, so that's a big moot point. But yes, anyone who can read a log will quickly notice that Flèche, Sixte, CàC and Disp/Eng are physical abilities because their name is orange. Or if you've ever thrown Flèche + Sixte at Leviathan's face and died from reflected damage xD
Even though I consider myself extremely well VERsed in RDM I always enjoy listening to others make guides on them. Edit: Redoublement is not pronounced Re-double-ment. It is pronounce Re-dew-bleh-mon make it sound stereotypically French and you got it.
You missed out "Reprise" being pronounced "ree-prize" in the video instead of the correct "ruh-preez". But hey unlike most people Megastar actually called it "Flèche" and not "flayshay" like some clowns out there who can't even do basic research.
Not bad! While I can't get Red Mage myself (trial account and all), this was very informative, and I may refer to this if/when I actually CAN get the class! UPDATE: So, now that Stormblood is available for Free Trial, I can safely say that this is an amazing class! Something I enjoy doing is, in order to keep distance during my magic combo, is when I have the ability to use my melee, I use Corps-A-Corps, into the combo, then into Displacement to return to my usual magical mischief.
my adhd is 200% not allowing me to learn RDM. it's so goddamn confusing for some reason. there's so much going on i need an actual idiots guide or something.
So, as a lv 53 or so Red Mage, I weave Engagement into my melee combo, and you forgot to mention Fleche and I assume its ape version are instant, off global, casts.
I really liked the black mage video you did and wanted to see this one but honestly you were going so fast compared to the black mage video that I simply can't follow. It might have been nice to take a breather like you did with black mage and sum up a part instead of powering through each ability.
This was fantastic. I have a lvl 90 RDM from doing PVP and I like summoner but I want fast and busy. I used to main black mage but at this stage it feels clunky to me. I wanna love RDM and this may have helped!
I just wanted to say this video is awesome, some of the stuff in it I had already figured out, but there was allot of it I hadn't thought about, granted I just became a RDM last night, but still you've saved me allot of trouble
I think these accelerated start guides seem to have a problem with the point of a guide. While I am sure it's good to give an idea of what the class is like at max level with all its bells and whistles, you're going to leave the new player out. What kind of help do you give to the person who just hit level 50 and sees a hotbar full of abilities they don't understand? You assume they have knowledge that a new player wouldn't have. There are lots of these kind of videos but very few of any that I think actually qualify as a guide.
Literally everything in this guide applies to lower tier play. There are just less mechanics. Use your jolt then use an elemental in single target, use verspell the use shatter in multi. Done.
Sure than kicked in 50/50 at around lvl 80 tho I'm not sure as been awhile since I started using Rdm as mine is lvl 90 now. Still a fun class to play as
I'm a healer main and in harder/new content, I've had my ass saved by RDMs several times. I've been wanting to branch out my gameplay more with DPS and tanks, and RDM is a high interest on my list. Thanks for the guide!
Very simple and to the point. Got lucky in finding out as a new player that you apparently can start using SAM/RDM rather early on (unlocked them right as I was starting Heavensward) and while I figured out Samurai well enough, Red Mage was still complicated to figure out. At least here, it makes more sense how the loop works and how to get the most out of them. Thank you kindly.
Pretty sure scatter gets upgraded to Impact eventually, this dealing more damage than veraero and verthunder. So at max lvl red mage you have to aoe veraero/thunder first and then impact.
Before the potency buffs from the trait at 84, Veraero 2 and Verthunder 2 are actually only 100p which makes them weaker than scatter's 120p. You get Impact first, then the other two get buffed, so dualcasting Scatter/Impact always makes sense over Verthunder 2 or Veraero 2 ^^
this didn't actually say anything about the actual rotation of a red mage, so not a good video in that regard. it does explain the abilities, but not what i was searching for and is in the end important to red mage players.
It's a basic guide for beginners who don't actually understand the kit and how it works together. Reading tooltips can be overwhelming for a lot of new players. If you wanted the rotation, you could've googled "Red Mage rotation" in the time it took for you to write this redundant comment. And, quite frankly, Red Mage's rotation is stupidly simple, you should be able to use your brain to work it out after having watched this video. If you can't, then you're beyond help.
@@liyifenn Red Mage is not even that overwhelming when reading its tool tip,try that with Ninja or Samurai, then see how fun it is xD (even tho samurai in a way,its much simpler,at least to me than RDM)
hey you wanna play a spellsword that can also heal and res people and looks stylish af? "sure" here have 10 billion abilities, now deal with them, oh but don't let that mana get out of balance tho "the what?.. the how?.. wtf!?" yeah.. still a bit overwhelmed but this at least makes it a bit clearer how you're supposed to use all the things
Does red mage in FF 14 have any unique spells I played RM back in FF 11 but it wasn't viable as a main because it was lacking in so many areas since it's stuck to basic spells and none of them are unique to the class even though I liked the play style
new player here and the clip with titan and displacement took me out bc i literally did that today 😭 now that ive mostly got the hang of it i cant wait to get further and use all the abilities that come after 50
Your videos are so good ! it can't get any clearer then this. Thank you for this great content ! Please consider making some opener and rotation series for every job !
Found this gem on an Exponential Entropy lyric video. I hereby declare this the Crimson Dualist National Anthem. “Verflare or Verholy”: A Red Mage parody of Exponential Entropy “White and then Black and then White and then Black and then go White and then Black, and you Corps-a-Corps forward” x4 "Now backflip there” “Red…Un…Leash” "Then you Verflare” "Or…Ho…lyyyyyyy-“ "White and then Black and then White and then Black and then go White and then Black, and you Corps-a-Corps forward” x8 “Dualcasting time (It’s time to Raise them)” “Dualcasting time (It’s time to Raise them)” “Dualcasting time (Some Cures to sate them)” “Dualcasting time (Bosses you hate them)” x2 “Casting Black right into the crowds” “Now some White to thin the herd down” “Forget Impact and the party will say” “’No commends are coming your way’” “Yes, casting Black right into the crowds” “Now Corps-a-Corps to thin the herd down” “Backflip out and Verholy, my friend” “Cause now it’s time to do it all again”
