What is your favorite way to trim off the shims?

Razor knife where they are thin enough, and an oscillator tool(multi tool..) if they are thick. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope this was helpful.

When joining the faces. Do you pre-drill the whole length of the screw? Getting those screws set is my biggest issue.

Just about the whole length. I'll set the bit pretty shallow in my drill, leaving more length then usual. Often enough even when setting more expensive kitchens, I'll find myself going 1 screw at a time. Expensive wood is warped to. Ask any question, anytime....
