All things DIY. Carpenter/remodeler by trade. Artist, forager of wild edibles, and weekend wood worker. Much of my inspiration comes from prehistory and what people needed to accomplish before the days of hardware, grocery, and department stores in order to survive. If I can make it rather than buy it.... I'd rather simply make it. I'm American, and some of the original DIYers of this land were the Clovis people. Hence, the channel name. Interesting discussion on bags. I have an Oxydental Leather set up and looking for a lighter option. I like the open bottom on the badger tool bag and the lips are more open for easier access.
This was the beginning of me pulling the trigger. Didn't even have a sewing machine yet. Definitely willing to talk if you have Instagram @clovisproject I've messed around with the idea from time to time over the years. One of those things that have been on my mind for a long time.
Thanks man. That was wearable pouch number 1 right there. Material- 1000d cordura. It's a heavy duty nylon. No rivets in corners. I run up and down the outside 3 times..
My mother fucking boy. I love the fact that you're cutting webbing in your off-grid facility.... that's what makes you as humble as you are. And all them mother fuckers that think about laughing it up..... are about to realize, soon enough, that you're shit is top notch and theirs is just mainstream mediocre crap.i sold my badgers to my coworker and haven't put my diamondbacks on since receiving your quality set up.
@clovisprojectdiy yeah, we did a little something today. We built this guys house and he wanted an out building. I kinda like small projects like this. They are great in between projects.
Got my carpenter set Badger toolbelt about a year ago because at 32 years old I already couldn't deal with suspenders anymore after only 2 years being a carpenter (finished every shift with red, sore and itchy shoulders) and not a work day goes by where I regret it.
Yes brother been running the dominant side hip tape position for a few years now and think it to be the second best position depending on what work your doing. The only position that takes its place I think is the front bag when framing. My current dilemma is looking for new dominant side bag that has hip tape clip position
I'll be building out a set for myself again soon. Tape will be up front where knife/pencil is usually seen. Being lefty for a pencil, but strong side is still right, my right side gets very crowded at times "needing" to house square and tape... Message me on Instagram and I can make you whatever you're looking for... @clovisproject Things gave evolved considerably since this video(very first wearable pouch)
@@clovisprojectdiy legend will do. Yes that’s a great position, obvious tool co. Over here in Australia are doing some good things and using that position 👌 will do legend 🫡
Yo yo yo.... I just got back from two days of camping and extreme fishing and watched this little nugget of a video. I really dig the curved drywall section of them stairs. It added a lot of character. Them posts look tits. I can't wait to see them stained.
I wish there was more time that I could have had simply to setup the camera with this place. Been digging deep into the old bag of tricks here. Thanks Garrett
Thank you. Been playing around lately with 1.5" aka 35 mil webbing and buckle. Might be switching to the slimmer size as a standard for my 4 inch belt, and keep the 2 inch for the "framer"...
They're great. I use the blower specifically all the time. Blast off the saws before they go back in the truck. I have ridgid to makita, and ridgid to milwaukee as well now... worth the money, I'd say for sure on all 3, but the ryobi ones see more miles.
@@clovisprojectdiy Awesome, thanks man. I've been thinking about getting a cordless narrow crown stapler for a job this week, but I already have a pneumatic one and only use it like once a year lol. So the ridgid one for $249 doesn't really make sense for me right now, but this adapter and a $90 factory blemished ryobi from direct tools... That's tempting
I just got my badger suspenders today and like your son I'm not the bulkiest up top and I find they rub the shit out of the sides of my neck...does he experience the same? Kind of disappointed.
He's wearing ones I made now. Check out the channel... making custom toolbelts now. They have a return policy, but not sure of the exacts. Sorry you are disappointed. He liked them, but at the time the chest strap wasn't adjustable up and down. That was his only gripe. I spend more time posting to Instagram right now if interested...
I keep looking at this one line in here that captures the whole job. Figuring at the end of the day today I'll post some pics on Instagram. I'll make sure it's the 1st pic... insane dip in the floor over here. They already had somebody come in and put a beam in the basement so there left with what they got. It's absolutely crazy upstairs.
Thanks Ray. Was that you that started following on Instagram? I'll send you a message over there this morning. Maybe we can start that conversation about that belt if you're still interested
@rayortiz3105 typed in exactly what you commented. Couldn't find that account. If you can, please send me a message. clovisproject All 1 word all lowercase. Even if you comment on a post just letting me know it's you and I'll send 1
Ray, you gotta hit me up on Instagram. @clovisproject We can "speak in private" over there. Not going to be a website for a little while. Selling directly from Instagram right now.. if you don't have an account, either set one up for a short time. Or hit me up through a family members account. Already made sales that way... Appreciated by the way for real. Working on a framer earlier today, much like this one...
Just barely watched this. Love the sound effects at the end. Once it's all costed and painted, it's going to look like a crazy architect designed it!!!
Could have been a good build along, but there was too much going on. Maybe next time. All in all it looks "right" now. + the 3rd floor stairs can be actually used again...
Using a durable womens purse is much easier. Only thing I would suggest is spray painting the whole thing, and could put your name on it if your worried about tools coming up missing from it
People don’t ever understand what the meaning of demonstration means 😂. Pat, keep at it buddy. Keep at it brother. The stuff is looking fuckin amazing bro. I’m not just boosting your confidence brother you have a gift my friend. 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks dude. Every quick one I do, showing what's going on with a design a few people assume I'm installing a kitchen with 2 big bars and a pair of benders on me. If one was to ask for a smaller bag like the ones I wear, they would most likely ask for a bit index "over here", and add a trade specific pocket....
You got it. I'm on Instagram @clovisproject. If you direct message me there,we can pick color and I can send you PayPal info. Please direct message me on Instagram. Thank you for the interest. That toolside is 8 wide. I can get 6 inch duck bills in pinch side down in a 10 wide bag. Typical "framer" width..
Check out the channel bud. This rig is headed to Montana for a guy who specializes in metal roofing and siding. I packed the interior to demonstrate capabilities. He'll have 3 pairs of snips, chalk box, razor knife and pencils interior. The benders and large sheers will have a well organized area when needed. Thanks for the comment and your expert opinion bud
It looks good but I feel tool bags are entering the Mary poppins purse era again. Either we need a design that redistributes the load or we need to carry less. Put fasteners in those bags and that load out is like 20lbs
Just demonstrating capacity. The guy who is recieving this wants a large side by side, and a teched out toolside. He specializes in metal roofing and siding... certainly not going to be framing with benders, but there is a spot for them when he switches gears and starts wrapping with metal. Thanks for the comment.
Just showing capabilities on the toolside. The customer wants to prioritize benders for metal work. He does barn style framing and handles all the metal roofing and siding. This is a "frame to finish" type of thing for him. When he's done with metal work, the front slot can close flat again... thanks for the comment
@@clovisprojectdiy I meant no disrespect. Just making a little humor. When I was in the trades I would have taken that off and hung it on the ladder as soon as I got up top, but it is nice to be able to carry everything you need in one trip!
Zero issues here man. I just try to respond to everyone. I put some of my electrical hand tools in it simply because they are bulky and would show that I can still accommodate... comment away my friend.
Just trying to demonstrate capacity, and show how I'm able to accommodate a few tools that are very awkward to carry in an effective way. Thanks for the comment
