Script wise it's not the original show, but I sure do enjoy the entertainment aspect of it, funny as too much, Uncle Jesse jokes, Bo and Luke comedy, Jessica taking Daisy Duke to another level, love it.
Daisy was not a godless whore in the show... And Bo and Luke were actually not reckless as all get out... Plus the fact that Luke was actually the smart one between the two...
It's a good movie, it was nice to see the duke boys on screen again. Sure they may be a little different now, more reckless and Luke being smart but hell..its still good yknow?
I HAD THIS ON DVD AS A CHILD. i didn’t watch the full movie until like 2019 but OH MY GOD i watched this behind the scenes at least 100 times as a child
What I like about this movie is they took the original characters main character trait and cranked it to 10. All the people that complain that it’s no where near the show need to watch again. Jesse was ornery as shit at one time, bo and Luke were too, Enos and Rosco were idiots, boss Hogg was an asshole and everyone wanted to bone daisy. The only thing cooter knew was cars. Follows fairly similar just more straight to the point.
This movie tried its best not to use CGI throughout its whole film (unlike what you would see in most films nowadays; "Fast & Furious," "Speed Racer," starring Emile Hirsch and directed by the Wachoski brothers, etc.). I'll give this movie credit for that. They never used CGI in the TV series, so CGI probably would've ruined the Dukes even MORE than the film itself already did.
@@watchmangamer4380 What do you mean by CGI in the “Shoot the Moon” scene? All I know is that they used air-pressure-powered catapults for ALL the jumps.
@@rumarspencer7302 Junior Brown sang the "new" theme song for the movie..... Willie re-recorded Waylon's Good Ol Boys song which he did at the end of the movie and for the credit roll.
As a diehard fan and snob of the Dukes of Hazzard TV show, I thought The movie was funny and I thought they got the characters down to a point, but Burt as Boss Hogg was just wrong. He's too thin and too serious. Maybe they didn't have to find someone like Sorrell Booke to emulate him but you needed both Boss and Roscoe to be less serious and more bumbling. They weren't, and it kinda ruined it a little for me.
I love the dukes of hazzard so much i got an orange car but its a chevy sonic but once i payed it all off its goona have 01 on my driver and passenger doors lol
The dukes of Hazzard is my favorite movie of all timeI have the generally as my lockscreen I have the dukes of Hazzard as my wallpaper and the Dixie horn as my notification Bell
It was a brilliant movie and a fitting Tribute. I only wish some of the original cast members would have been asked to be in the film. Oh well, At least wonder woman was in it. P.s How many different ends was there?
Apparently There was a rumor that Tom Wopat, John Schneider, and Catherine Bach The original dukes we're offered cameos but said no cause after reading the script they hated it. (All rights to imdb)
I think this HAD all the ingredients to be a really good movie. Great actors but it’s nothing like the original dukes at all! Not the actors fault but think it was written and produced all wrong.
I agree with John Schneider's take on this movie. it is far from the wholesome entertaining IP it is based on. Bo and Luke were not the bumbling clowns these depictions of them are. Also, why not dress them appropriately in their iconic shirt colors? This movie is more of an SNL parody of the Dukes of Hazzard than it is fateful adaptation. John Schneider's Christmas Cars movie did a better job of capturing the spirit, heart and soul of the show. If you haven't seen Christmas Cars, I recommend you get yourself a copy. If the people that made this film had brought John on as a consultant this movie would have been 1000 times better. The vehicle stunts are the only thing it does well. The rest of it is nothing to write home about.
Have you watched the movie. If you have you've obviously forgotten all the abuse the boys copped when they drove into the city about the flag on the roof. FFS
My favorite show ever my family is and town is basically a Mississippi version of dukes of hazzard like I'm being fr im not even kidding like please believe me lol
There's one thing I noticed even when I watched the movie Don't take this personal the general Lee the outside of it looks the same but the inside material they f***** up I like the original interior they did in the show the outside is the same but the interior inside is not I mean I don't know the movie wasn't that great to me I mean yes Willie Nelson played a good uncle Jesse Johnny Knoxville played a good Luke Duke but Sean Williams Scott is Bo Duke using a helmet to fight with and wearing nothing but shoes instead of boots that's not the way John Schneider's character was they kind of made this a 21st century and you can't ruin the 20th century classic show like that I'm going to stick with the show I love the show
Watching the movie all I could think of was these are trailer park boys and good old country boys they certainly got rid of the charm. Just my opinion.
No, this movie was just crap lol... Hell, I could write something light years better than this and keep the behaviors of the original cast "mostly" intact... Not everything can translate well from TV to Movie but it can be done....
Turned the Duke boys into dumb witted idiots and the General Lee car racist in this movie. As John Schneider best said: "My gosh... it was terrible! It wasn't Dukes. It was true to whatever it was; I just don't know what that was!" John Schneider has said that when he arrived at the premiere, Johnny Knoxville came up to him and apologized for how bad the film was.
I like the movie but its nothing like the dukes of hazzard for one uncle Jesse stoped making moonshine in the show and the dukes never delivered it for 2 uncle Jesse never smoked in the show I have nothing against the actors of the main cast are great its just the movie
The movie on it's own is ok but it's not the dukes boss Hogg wasnt the meanest man in hazzard, uncle jessie wasn't a slacker, bo and luke and Daisy were not all ninphos,Roscoe wasnt a fat sum bitch , enos was close but the actor looked all wrong, cooter wasnt a creep hot on daisy, and for half the movie the general was a junker with 01 on the doors and probably a stolen engine by the way these guys operate and what was cheeve supposed to be seriously they could have just blown the safe with the arrows which they did anyway lol ,did the makers of this movie watch more then a promo for crying out loud idk
If I had the general lee what I wood do to it is remove the confederate flag off the roof and put a America flag on top and re name the car general grant
There Was Too Many Missing Elements Missing From This Movie That Was Left Out From The Tv Series The Comedy Between Boss Hogg And Roscoe. Willie Nelson Did Not Sing The Dukes of Hazzard Right It Was Almost As If There Was No Effort In Singing The Dukes of Hazzard Song At All. And The Movie Was Casted All Wrong With All The Wrong Actors.
Not a patch on the series. Sheriff roscoe wasn’t fit to kiss the boots of James best and didn’t even play roscoe like roscoe should have been. Jessica Simpson isn’t a patch on the original daisy duke and Johnny Knoxville ... well enough said. Hi points are Willie Nelson who is a legend and Burt Reynolds was pretty good as boss hog. Just my own opinion.
The director was much more interested in the nostalgia of getting Burt Reynolds in this move because he is the Bandit, than accurately re-creating the original character! Danny Divito or even John Goodman would have been more like the original Boss Hogg!
This movie was Horrible. Luke was a Sex addict, Bo had a automotive Fetish for The General Lee and they cast tall skinny Burt Reynolds in a part that was played by a short and chubby Sorrell Booke. About the only thing they got right was General Lee.
The 2005 Dukes of Hazzard was pretty funny. The only thing that sucked but Daisy Duke in the 2005 is she didn't show any butt cheeks. The original Daisy Duke did and it's freaking hot just saying. But the original Dukes of Hazzard cast you know John Schneider James best I think that's how you spell his last name but anyhow the original always will be the best and it was so awesome to see the General Lee I don't think any card for ever come close to that those are my comments you don't like it I really don't give a s***
I can't say that I liked the movie that much. The producers of the movie really messed it up. Adding rock music and the guy with the armadillo helmit, really? What were they thinking? No, I can't say I liked the movie.
I’m sorry this movie is an will always be a disgrace to the original cast an show! Nothing but drinking sex an smoking weed an that is not what the dukes are about! Should be ashamed of your selfs not a fan will never support this movie
