"Why do people care about speed?" an important adage is, when people buy cars they often buy with their heart. A car can be ever so economical and safe and stuff, but if they're not "feeling" it, they won't buy it. The acceleration is definitely an aspect that makes it fun to drive and thus appealing to a large audience.

The speed thing is something I find myself so torn on. I ride a GSXR street bike and obviously has A LOT of speed. It is really fun to randomly decide to blow past everyone on the freeway. Yes, there are speed laws and most of the time I follow them. BUT…..It’s really fun knowing you can punch the throttle and really move.

Hey guys, looks like you may have not realized yet: when you close the center console fully, the slot under the wireless charger has a block on it where cards, etc won’t disappear. This happened to me with my building access card. Spent 10 mins trying to fish it out and even detached the wireless charger which didn’t help. Suddenly, I accidentally closed the center console cover fully and when it closed, my access card was revealed. 😳😅

The butterfly wheel is the main reason I wanna upgrade. It looks absolutely sick. And most of those that have it for a couple weeks, realize they don't want to go back to an ol' round wheel.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if there are third party solutions that add a top arc to the yoke. The shape and size may be awkward, but maybe that would alleviate the discomfort that some people have. That said, I'm looking forward to getting my LR and experiencing the yoke for myself.

As a brotha(black man in MN but born in Kenya) , who has a similar background to you in the sense of growing up in a very white dominated industry and world, I gotta say it did disappoint me to see the lack of diversity on your team. Like I started of my comment, I have been inspired by you and even made life decisions from you being a role model of mine, so I spent the entire video trying to come up with justifications and ultimately I decided that leaving a comment on it might be enough. I still support you in whatever way I can but thought maybe you'd see the perspective I'd have for you. They should have a bumb up in the back of center console in order to raise the screen for the backseat, and then if they remove the large bezel currently present, it would likely be great. Or have 2 screens on the back of each seat, which lets get real, would be the best solution, especially with Tesla's dedication to cabin entertainment.

How loud is the seat ventilator System? In park and while driving?

I had to quickly fast forward to see if they shot in the car for a full hour. 5 minutes in and I had sympathy pains for them holding the mics and trying to produce from the back seat. Definitely an ambitious start to the video. I liked it. Cheers!

Model S 2017 - same center console issue. There is a gap, which now has 2 my Chargepoint cards. But because the surface in old cars is not that smooth, they are stuck there and no acceleration can get them out.

Im sure there will be third party kits for the yoke in the future, either physically adding a wheel, or a straight conversion to a classic wheel and classic controls. Its could also be that EU regulations force Tesla to use classic elements, especially for the blinker (wich looks terrible on the Plaid)

Reducing the power to half won’t do much for range. That’s a pretty ICE way of thinking.

I have to make a slight correction to something Marques said at 55:20. The previous Tesla Model S steering wheel controls actually had one scroll wheel (the right one, which he said was fan speed) that was configurable. There were 5 or 6 different functions it could control. In addition, pressing in on the right scroll wheel allowed the user to select from one of 5 different displays for the right-hand panel of the instrument cluster. So it is not quite true that the controls were "always" for the same function. personally, i liked the configurability. I used the right scroll wheel for sunroof operation in good weather, but would switch to something else in winter to avoid inadvertently opening the sunroof in cold or snow. But i agree that the controls were not as configurable as they are in models 3 and Y, which to me make for too many steps for performing some tasks, such as adjustments to the seats.

One thing to think about with the Yoke is that its safer. Your less likely to bust your teeth out with it. I personally like resting my had at the top of a steering wheel when i drive but i do think the Yoke adds some saftey for your face in a front collision if the air bag fails to deploy. And Fire your editor for Putting BMW pictures up when you address Audi.
