Well it’s certainly a lot easier to get into this kind of craft than conventional wood work as everything you need you can make. Glad you enjoyed it. cheers Ben

That is just fantastic in every of its facets. Nothing ugly our ancestors did in every bit of how they worked and what their work produced. Timeless, ultimate technique. Fantastic demonstration and explanation.

Truthfully, I will probably never do any woodworking, but I still find it interesting and satisfying to watch these videos.

Thanks so much for the tutorial on how to properly use a draw knife. I haven't been angling my draw knife but I will from now on. I will also emulate your "flat side" technique as well. Thanks so much for your time, expertise and sharing your experience in this excellent video!!! Also, I'm enamored with your shave horse......hopefully you will share the dimensions at some point in time. Many thanks again for this tremendous video!!!

Thank you so much for your very informative video. I will try the process for making a mallet since I am a new green woodworker at best. I think I like the shave horse design you use. Is it easy to carve spoons with it, too? Do you have any plans for building it? Or would you recommend any special literature or website to learn about its construction? Thank you.

Hi, Great videos, very informative. I'm a newby when it comes to shavehorses and green woodwork, and have a question. you said that your drawknife has a slight curve to it, to get flat cuts? How does that work as my first thought was it would put a slight curve?

Very interesting tutorials. I love to wacth them and to learn this hand job "old style". I love so mutch to carve wood and I want to learn this tecniques. I have a question: You say green wood, but I saw the wood chips and I think it is dry and not green wood. Can you give me some info about? Thanks in advance and many thanks for sharing your experience! Greetings from North West Italy. Dario

Great! What a great idea! Always out of the way no matter what youre doing, yet at your finger-tips in a moment. The only improvement I can think of is, a knife that opens with one hand, or, I suppose a sheath knife. Thank you for clear, detailed demos. Your accent does NOT take away from explanations, and I for one, can see/hear that the things you present are skills you have had for a long time; not just to teach on you tube, but before you tube came on the scene!

@BenOrford 6 лет назад
thanks thats great glad you enjoyed the video, as regard to the Nomad you can operate it one handed, thats what makes it such a great knife.
