An Introduction to Kabuki Makeup・Part 1: The Basics 

When I was a child, I would see paintings of Kabuki actors and think "They can't be making such wild expressions in real life!", Until later on I saw a video of Kabuki, and they mix artful makeup with complete and masterful control of their faces. Its amazing! I hope to see it in person someday. ❤

What beautiful singing voices and good musicians too

WOW! After time well spent on my part (in endless fascination) watching videos of Kabuki actors applying their makeup, you have come up with a two-part video about it. After learning about how white lead was used in early Kabuki makeup, it is little wonder that some of the actors who used it died young. White lead was used as makeup by royalty and other titled or well-heeled ladies in Europe - the Tudor Queen Elizabeth I caked it on to cover smallpox scars! Not so long ago, I bought sets of Kabuki-themed stickers online from Japan and one of them featured Kumadori - it is fun and educative to learn more about them and be able to identify each role where they are featured. You keep spoiling us, KiD, and thank you for your dedication, attention to detail (which I love) and hard work putting everything together.
