- Overview
The 8A Series OPTA is the name of a completely new range of Industrial Smart Relays or Programmable Logic Relays (PLRs), perfect for easily creating intelligent logic in industrial, OEM or building automation projects.
Finder’s industrial know-how meets the open-source innovation of Arduino Pro, bringing you a product that is truly unique in the market. The products are innovative and connected with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® Low Energy technology and are programmable without licenses using Arduino IDE or IEC/EN 61131 programming languages such as LADDER, FBD, etc. They also have enhanced IoT security thanks to the secure element chip.
During the webinar, we will be exploring Finder’s 8A Series of PLRs and how it will revolutionize the industrial automation industry.
Key Takeaways:
- Discover why the Finder OPTA is a revolution in industrial automation industry.
- Understand the features and benefits of the Finder OPTA and how it can simplify complex industrial operations.
Learn how easily the Finder OPTA can be programmed using various industry standard programming languages.

I'm from Brazil and when I worked as a technician I asked my colleagues why plc manufacturers don't make a PLC that is as easy to program as the Arduino that uses C language? I know that for a long time ladder logic was considered the easiest language to learn, but nowadays you realize that ladder logic is limited in some points and that it is only superior when It's about drives. However, when you want to do more complex logic, for example a report, it is terrible. So why don't manufacturers combine the two languages in the same component? And that's exactly what you did! GREAT!

Great comment mate. Atleast now I know there are people who question the legacy. I am a SOftware engineer and when I started playing around with PLCs, I for the love of god could not figure out why PLCs were so outdated. I just could understand why a generic computer had not replaced the PLC as of yet. The Arduino was a good start and I knew it would be a PLC someday. This is the way forward.

I ordered one yesterday tbh it is a bit expensive and limited output features except flexible built-in connection options

Another point was that the people at Arduino have a platform like the Arduino IoT Cloud that makes monitoring an industrial plant much easier than many other software from PLC manufacturers.

i bought the arduino plc as soon as it came out and was disappointed to hear you cant use ladder, this presentation states you can, I may give it another look
