Programming the Arduino OPTA PLC using Ethernet Port

The Arduino Opta IoT PLC offers a hassle-free programming experience through its integrated Ethernet feature and efficient Arduino PLC IDE software.
First, we'll connect the Ethernet cable to the OPTA IoT PLC and find its IP and MAC address. After that, we'll configure the default programming port to Modbus TCP (Ethernet) via the Arduino PLC IDE. Finally, we'll compile and transfer our PLC code to the OPTA. Let's begin.

In my plc ide, in Online -> Setup communication, I have only "default" Modbus proposed, not ModbusTCP nor GDB. Do you have any idea about it ? By the way, great videos, thank you !

The opta doesn't pop up in the router device list, I've tried to restart from scratch 100 times, but doesn't show up, any suggestion? I have a fritzbox 7530 ax as modem/router

Using the Command Prompt and typing "arp -a" will list all connected devices. Plug and unplug your ethernet cable to see if the device is seen. I hope this helps you out. Regards, Garry

Hey I made exact procedure, but when I'm downloading sketch to OPTA i get this error: com port must be used! Can you please help me?

It sounds like your OPTA wants to communicate on something other than the Ethernet port. Main menu | On-Line | Set up Communication... Under the "OPTA Configuration, ensure that this is set for Modbus TCP. I hope this helps you out. Regards, Garry

Hy! Thanks for this video. Now I have a problem, I cant switch back to the USB port... Do you have any advice?

I had the same problem at first. However, when you start a new project, the connection will default to the USB port again. Select the connection icon. If you look at the connection parameters, it will show you the settings. You can then return to your other program and put these settings in. I hope this helps you out. Regards, Garry
