Micro and units supporting each other is extremely important. I managed to take out an IS-2 with a Puma cause the Soviet was occupied with fighting infantry and scared of Panzerfausts.

That's why they called mobile defense. I personally loved it. And more effective in Victory point mode. The point is not actually defending in usual sense. but gathers the commander units, Puma, ost, cmnd tank etc. Move those as a group for attack enemy offensive crippled them for a while and hold out for a while when your teammates brought or repair armor or even reheal infantry. I personally use the combos of Command tank, 4 osttruppen, either 4 puma or 3 panzer IVs. It work wonder on victory point mode. especially when the enemy are surprised because they're too focused on defending VP and get flanked.

Absolute best content creators for CoH 2 of all time, been with the series for over a decade and ultra-appreciate the TASKBAR DELETE at times during replays, saving burn-in on my OLED/4K content is great too!

There using this doctrine allows you to get puma, allowing you to have mobile at weapon without building your base, which allows them to focus on field. Pumas are enough good vs medium tank, which are usual in 1v1s

The Mobile Defense looks sucks because it was nerfed heavily on the Puma. It was an extremely powerful 1v1 doctrine, because you didn't need to tech up and build T3 (which takes A LOT of fuel and "time") to get Puma, and with the fuel saved, you can get mutiple Pumas! God it was so satisfying to devastate ANY armor you see, flanking all the teamweapons, and combine with aggressive territory capturing with osttruppens (that's why the got Counterattack Tactics), the enemy will STARVED to death and never get T4. All this need to be executed with perfect time and resource control, but extremely hard to counter if you didn't predict that (USA&UK need enough ammunition to got AT weapon, USSR need PTRS squads). But now Mobile Defense is dead. Puma needs T3 and building, which turns it into a outdated burden to your fuel, and every tactics can't be played without Puma. So yeah, that's the history.

They nerfed tf out of the elite Troops doctrine

Greyshot is lying he always go B4 when playing Soviet lol. You lose faith with the B4 and you will never hit again! Just watch the part about mobile defense. My personal experience with that doctrine is it is a pretty good doctrine in 3v3,4v4 when you are in the middle of the team. Where you act as a reserve force to that can quickly mobilize to area that need you. With puma being a really good mobile AT sniper and osttruppen being cheaper to maintain against grenadier. The problem is your team would have a harder time defending at the start of a battle and is pretty unnecessary in 1v1,2v2 while you can just be at the frontline at the start.
