Longtime listener to D&R, and this book answered questions I never knew I had about Theria! Gorgeous and in depth! D&R has a program right now called Playing in Theria, where they help put groups together to do exactly that! I'm DMing for one of those groups and it's fantastic!
I saw that on the website. What a brilliant way to get people into the world. This book has some great depth and detail but is also one that you can pick things up quick.
@@gameon_ct I don't know if I would call it "easy" lol. I'm sure that things have gotten more accessible in the last few years though. I'm really glad that you enjoyed the book. :)
I really like how stoked you are about this book. I use diseases in my campaign settings and all the negative side effects, from real word examples. One of my favorites is, " When my players go into a swampy biome there are mosquitoes. In some of the areas where there is rotting or decomp of a monster, they will carry a plague of really bad disease (15% of the time, increased by 10% for every 5 rounds they stay in this area). Leading them to search the only person known to have access to or the knowledge of how to create a cure." My players like this mechanic and it gives them a since of urgency to find the necessary items to help a very ill companion.
Might also set up a nice time element for them if they know they need to get in and out of an area quickly to avoid catching it themselves if they knew of the possibility of getting this disease before heading in
Another absolutely fascinating, and inspiring, video... as someone else said your passion and enthusiasm shines through and I find it infectious :) This looks like a great book and anything that can make this awesome hobby more accessible and variable is a good thing in my eyes :) thanks man
