The role of the police is to enforce the law. It would set a dangerous precedent if the police were able to change the law to suit themselves. Anti austerity, stand up to racism, save the NHS,CND in my youth, protest against the Israeli apartheid regime and the cruelty going on. But, with permanent chronic back pain and sciatica plus a heart condition, notwithstanding being a full time Carer for my Wife, believe me it is getting far more difficult for me. Plus, marches and protests are not enough. We need mass non compliance by billions across the whole world but sadly the vast majority are either exhausted, malnourished or otherwise compromised and at the moment there doesn't seem to be enough of an appetite for the gigantic levels of civil disobedience necessary. And nobody needs to be hurt either. Overwhelming the miniscule percentage of psychopaths by sheer weight of numbers should do the trick.
