Pit four was a special lake then ,and when I fished it a decade later the fish in there surprised everyone ! Really enjoying these tales from a bygone era.
Absolutely loving listening to these story's dave, you tell them with such passion and enthusiasm.it's such a shame carp fishing has changed the way it has and that certain things are now frowned upon.
That’s funny you talking about the flood and the pit 4 fish going in the river , I spotted the carp in Staines behind a pub on a point of a small island had 6 out of the little river . Thanks for the videos Dave really enjoying them .
Another great story Dave .... had me on the edge of my seat ... john Teague haha I know john as I used to live in Horsham lovely bloke .... a colourful caricature. Keep up the good work Dave looking forward to the next 1 👍
Brilliant!!!. Thanks for this Dave... A great tonic to help with the boredom,,,. Agree with you on the clique lakes... sadly they are still alive and well in places.. Anyway cheers for now and stay safe everyone
Going crazy here not being able to fish. Dave this is helping me get through it. Always been a big fan of your down to earth style. Makes me think I could be a legend too lol. Listening to this makes decorating and DIY just a bit more bearable. Thanks mate. It's very appreciated.
This is a godsend Laney you’re giving me my carp fix and keeping us all sane in these weird times. I’ve read and thoroughly enjoyed all your books more than once but I have to say, your tales from the attic really bring them to life. Stay safe my friend and thank you
Loving these Dave, having fished pit 4 myself all be it a few years later. These tales remind me of the fantastic times ive also had , not only the fish but the friends and characters you meet and the nights where the fire burned and the beers flowed, Stay safe.

Thank you Dave for your story time, started finally reading your book also. Spent some time on pit 3 and then 4, fabulous memories and the lads and captures made it even better. Keep em coming fella.
Loving these Dave they are proper. Perfect for during this lockdown. I really cannot wait to bound down to the syndicate when we're allowed filled with confidence and inspiration from these stories 👍 oh and a beer of course 🍻
Dave such a lovely story, throughly enjoyed that can't wait for the next chapter. It's so great listening to your story during this awful period, it really has helped me just forget about all the awful news at present and it's getting my mind set ready for once we can get out fishing again and suffering from depression myself for many years due to things in life. It made me focus better on what I need to do. Cheers Dave ❤
Just purchased a flick of the tale, I watch loads of fishing content on RU-vid but up until your recent uploads I’ve never been interested in reading a book about carp and now for the life of me I can’t figure out why. Loving listening to your memories and can’t wait to read more, keep up the good work
That was so entertaning Dave, especially reminiscing about the 80s, sounds like a proper adventure. I was also working as a builder in London then and also applied for the business loan. I think my business plan was 4 lines on some scrap paper.
@@davelane1996 Looked alright to me, but I didn't see any fish. Can't wait to get back when the leaves are out. Would make a nice little 'after work' venue for me, as I'm only 5 minutes down the road. Hopefully see a few fish and have a little dabble. HS2 is cutting through a bit further up: Straight over pit 2 and nipping a bit of Savay. Big fish kill on 2 a few years ago blamed on it. Not sure if they stumped up for the restocking or not... They've been at it for a good few years now. Out of interest, did you ever catch any Tench in there?
You said dave lane, if you could go back in time It would be to the 80s. Would you use the same gear and bait, or would you take back modern tackle and bait.. cheers for the good vids by the way..
