Dave I salute you sir for sitting up in that boiling hot loft to bring us another absolutely brilliant video,I'm sure the whole carp community will echo how grateful we all are for you keeping us all sain and entertained.Thank you.👍👍
Cheers, Dave. Those 32lb Avons were a bit tricky😃......... more lovely stories, that Lady was a magnificent fish. Didn’t know that Keith was such an animal..😳. Now wondering when we’ll get to Sonning. Definitely some fun to come from that period if we ever get there.....
Absolutely brilliant mate 👌🏻 this is what's been missing from angling video content for a while, great stories, old historical carp, grainy video footage and plenty of giggles! Superb! And that 'crack' at the end, I almost felt the rod ping back myself 🤣👌🏻
Brilliant a timeless piece of history , so important , as time and carp fishing as moved on so much, a time when you where making rigs , baits finding new waters etc so watchable
Loving this mate in the last year have moved to slovakia from st ives. So my fishing adventures have changed a little , i sorely miss my uk fishing , the laughs and story telling. And that Stewed the granny out of them cracked me up. Hope your all back to normal in the uk soon and are back on the bank. We have a closed season over here till the 1st of june anyways with only a few lake open.
Thanks for the stories from back in the day. I'm loving every minute as I'm sure everyone else is. Really looking forward to the Wraysbury days! Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Ha ha the old Avon Scales, a lake I used to fish no-one could ever beat the 29lb lake record because it was actually a 19lber and someone read the Avons wrong, 10lb per revolution of the dial but they'd read the wrong colour! Still got mine in the garage...
Another mesmerising hour Dave can't wait for the next one .Carp fever was my book of choice in the early 80s, now I'm searching for Flick of the Tail ,keep them coming fantastic 👌
I'm loving the this series of videos so much, can't wait for the next episode. One day I would love you to do something similar with your campaign to catch the Black Mirror. I must have read those stories at least a dozen time in A Flick of the Tail.
Maylin told me to have a go on dayticket , all them fish , and people did not pick up on it very quick , and I never picked up on it at all , what a nitwit
The irony that the sound on a mid 90's camcorder is better than the sound on the rest of the footage Its a real shame because i love these, i just struggle to hear them properly in the car
dave lane , hi great vid, if you notice on your films that buzzin noise, you only have to move a little and the buzzing noise stops, its not a mic problem maybe, it seems interference by your laptop or something effecting your mic, and as its so small- the amount you have to move and it stops completely, you could maybe make a small adjustment to your set up for perfect sound if you wanted, or not, cheers anyway
The laptop is not actually plugged in or turned on. It's driving me mad, I just had to scrap an entire hours filming because it got so bad. I am still waiting for a new mic but I think it is the lead.
@@davelane1996 watch the vid if you sit back a little it stops completely, then as soon as you sit up again its back, just a little more messing moving the camera etc, and it might be ok?, most phones nowadays are spot on for videos , always a good option, untill the mic comes, its a shame with the sound, bcos i think this is really good blog, and clear insight to your thinking at the time you was doing it, its so much more info, then you usually say on your blogs etc, maybe when you do your normal blogs again after coronavirus, maybe do more talking like this, about the lakes and rigs ,baiting etc, like your doing here, bcos, when you just start talking, its really intresting, and worth listening to, cheers
This is probably going to sound ridiculous but I quite like it. It makes it more real and genuine. Leave all the highly polished professional gear to the new age carp pretty boys.
Keith's Horton series in Carpworld was one of the first I read when I subscribed to it and one of my favourites. You could tell there was a good atmosphere on there. Later I fished K1 not long after the Simmos went in so I can relate to the plane noise on the vids! Had the K1 TP common at the time, good times!
Dave has kicked off something, 'cos Terry Hearn has a video coming out tomorrow and there are several other fishing videos being shown for free for the first time
Top draw Mr Lane, I used to fish Horton when it was a trout fishery, run by Ron Dane ,he had a pet kestrel and i think he lved in the lodge....boy did that fella stink
I went to Horton in the early 90's in a three quarter leg plaster cast on the back of a GSXR750 with a mad mate of mine from Kent. We walked around with Del looking at swims and he told us tales of huge fish in the gin-clear water and of a definite record Grass carp. Tbh we thought he was barking but in the ensuing months, Horton did the record Grassy, swapping record weights with a fishery in Kent. I also heard tales of enormous Horton Tench (Del said that i reckoned one day it would do a 20lb fish) that might now be corroborated by you or others that fished it then? Some of you may even remember the actual day we were there. We walked to one particular swim where a good few people were taking photos of a pair of 40's unusually caught by a husband and wife, iirc it may have been the record brace at that time? I think she held her fish sideways and he above but held the fish facing the camera. i know i never imagined this!!! I always wanted to get up there but a work accident prevented me from travelling very far at the time so i never got to fish the mighty Horton. Either RMC or LS, £5 for 24 hours must've been the best value fishing in the country! How you guys got used to the planes i'll never know. I fished a pit on J13 of the M25 and Concorde was loud from there, above your heads it must've been deafening. Someone tell me i wasn't imagining this brace of 40's.
Thanks again Laney..blindin' as per ! Proper mad ending with yer man Keith...absolute zero finesse and I don't think the nets man did him any favours...easy sometimes to get over excited in those situations ha ha...he'd have looked better playing it sat in a fkin fighting chair 😂
Upload part 8 for me Dave. Chomping at the bit! Il buy your books if you sign em, our lass can read me to sleep, dreaming of the rockey barge and Bryant’s point 😭😭🥰
