Haha that Caller was almost right on the money. They made the overlapping generation back in 2014. Cause just like he said by 2021 the 1914 was practically gone.
I was born while WW2 was still going on. I grew up in small Southern U.S. town. Church on every corner... My parents were believers but not churchgoers. I was not indoctrinatated, but it was expected that I catch Christianity like got measle, chicken pox and all the rest. But i decided I think about it and it was okay for me to doubt. I think I was about 12, when I made that decision, I ever remember thinking that I might change my mind as got older and learned more. Well I nearly 80 and I've been an atheist for nearly 70 years. Christianity isn't special, it can't survive skepticism. It's can't overcome the Freedom to Doubt. JWs are nuttier than most but all religions are the same. Otherwise competent people believe ever one of them. It's such a waste. Living things die, they don't come back, they don't live forever. That's the way the World works. I've been married to the same woman for nearly 60 years. I have had a couple of parking tickets.

I left in 1979. I still believed in this nonsense until 1981. Then I had a meeting with the elders, and their behavior I could see couldn't be motivated by "love."

Watching stuff like these just helps me to see that this organization has been wrong since the beginning and kudos to these men who did not have access to what we have today to be able to see the truth. These men paved the road for us today and we gotta keep it going. 💯
It was only after my wake up that I started to notice critical thinking people were warning about cults! I thank all these true infos, but it’s sad that even though people have been warning, cults do continue and still exists, the sad and disappointing fact of life!
Great Interview at the time I was surrounded by the JW. Luckly as I studied the Bible scholarly, in University. I realized how stupid their interpretation so unscholarly, this guys are the true example of people being true to the Word of God and themselves.

Wow what a find. Two highly respected men. Great admirer of Peter Gregerson. The way that he knew Wt teachings were wrong and quietly dissociated himself, meaning (at the time) other JWs can still talk to them and went about his life, didn’t hurt others. Then Wt realised that any who leave are a potential threat if they do any research, so changed dissociating is the same as disfellowshipping, cutting them off. Truly awful way to treat people. Great interviews!

Kristy Ann, first of all, so much grateful for all of your efforts to increase a quality of this video. And what is most embracing IMO, this particular interview was recording in early 80's., and I was born in 1983, therefore (a tiny spoiler alert) almost a vast majority of my life had to be devoted to an organisation leading by Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Now so on, with hindsight I can not tell that I completely voluntarily walked into it. And It really hurts, because If I had then the same opportunity and knowledge towards a certain issues regarding a JW dogma, as I have these days, probably I could maintain any kind of relations with my parents (which are still Jehovah's Witnesses). Unfortunately, under coercion, I agreed to be a baptised, and due to that, I'am shunned by my family now days, regardless of any circumstances. Even if I feel guilty to a certain things that had took place, I'm unable to share my thoughts with them and get to the conclusion and peace with each other. That is so painful.

Wow...no wonder the org didn't/doesn't want any of it's members to talk to people who've left! These guys are 'on point'! My parents were ramrodded into baptism in 1974 with fear tactics over 1975 being the end. I can remember being told to tell my little friend [I was 10 yrs. old] that she was going to be destroyed while the elder who studied with my dad stood their and nodded his approval. My little friend ran home crying and told her parents [who would chat with a different elder when he came to their door], and they gave the next JW who came to the door the short end of the turkey. Rather than just these points being the 'standard' disagreements, the liturgy of offenses just keeps growing and growing.
Wow, this was interesting. Thank you for all the work you did to upload this from a 1980s show. I bet these two chaps were so happy to have put this crazy religion behind them. Because of their indoctrination, both still believed in God. I wonder if they ever grew out of that idea as well ?

They teach a false doctrine, but, I had to read the whole Bible plus repeat. A. few times to get the whole picture, their God of watchtower is a mean God, mine from the bible is love and truth not the God of confusion
Raymond Franz wrote several excellent books about the society. He is was also a member of the GB for nine years. This was not mentioned. In Crisis of Conscience he describes his relationship with Mr Gregerson and when he was disfellowshipped after they shared a meal. It's a must read for anyone interested in insights about the organization. The caller that accused these men of judging has no clue as to what this discussion is about. It is not that simple at all.

I knew some of you had to have seen it because it was on Television back in the day and these two Men are extremely well known amongst Ex JW Apostates. Outstanding interview! Mr Jack Webster was a long-respected broadcaster in Vancouver, BC. Just imagine the pain and suffering this Cult has imposed and continues to this day.
It’s not going to be much fun for the 144,001st JW standing in the queue, then, is it? I mean, if you don’t personally think you have much chance of getting into the group known as the 144,000 , then why bother with the religion at all? You might as well give up on the whole idea and enjoy yourself being wicked.
Don't you know about their claim that the majority are given an earthly hope? Many of these don't even WANT to go to heaven where they would be spirit creatures. After everyone else is killed in Armagedden they will fill the earth with their new perfect human bodies. They convert bible teachings into their own ideas. That's the problem.
Everyone else allegedly goes to paradise (which is a whole other nonsense idea). When I was in I wanted paradise or nothing. Heaven seemed like a boring proposition. Now they teach that paradise will be more hard work (and misery). There really is no point. I was perfectly content with neither. And as that is the actual reality, I still am.
Thank you for sharing this interview! I had never seen this one. Everything both of these two men told is the truth. The guy interviewing them was a little rough on callers though. Especially when he cut one off by just saying, " OK BYE." Click. Even though it was harsh, I found it made me laugh. Go figure!
