The way that damage reveals the enemies/your “true form”, is really unique. When the character runs, you can see the legs hair and body. The black “demon” that sends you to god is a great example of this. It’s easy to see it when it makes an uppercut. Or the white enemy with the 6 arms.

Further tip for the "enemies keep dying" problem (maybe a very mild spoiler?): Certain enemies, usually elemental ones, will absorb specific types of damage and replenish some of their health. For example, if Phoenix is about to die on you, hit 'im with some fire, and you're back in business

Hey the last time my progress was blocked by a moth I was impaled and burned to death by a sun god so forgive my PTSD.

This looks a lot like Hollow Knight. Beautiful worlds, a suspiciously similar looking weapon, breaking every bone in my body without warning, its perfect.
