I thought when I filmed it was two years, but actually it’s THREE years! Oops

I don't always relate well with English people, but our common quest to speak a foreign language and mutual dislike for dumb, long conjugation rules has brought us closer. I hope you continue making more videos and carry on practicing French. If you love listening to French music, watch French movies or TV shows or reading French vlogs, and being able to express your ideas using an alternate path of your brain, then it's enough reason to continue. Do it for the love and not the fear. Salut!

I remember watching your channel 2 years ago while I was still in school and it was a big help to me learning French! Now I'm doing a year abroad in France and making some real progress with the language :))

Aurella, When I listened to you on this video..These are the things that came to mind if you were my daughter..This is what I would say to you : Stop beating yourself up....Love who you are.. You are a risk taker.. Your way of learning French is perfect for you.. Who cares about mistakes..We learn from the and grow.. You are inspiring to me , trying something new.. I wish you and your partner the Best in Paris.. Please make more videos on learning French ,they are very helpful to me on my language journey.. You videos are Real... Be an "Emily in Paris" and make your Mark on the World.. You are a smart , beautiful woman.. You explain things so well.. Please don't stop on your French language journey.. If you make lots of money from your video's , so what!..Alot of work went into them ..Why would you work for free.? Yes you are very interesting and people are listening to you.. Write your books.. It sounds as if you are a Right Sided Brain person.... You have been given a gift to speak another language...and you are a wonderful teacher.. Run through the Door that has been opened to you and FLY....❤

These days, I view my French learning as a relationship to cultivate, rather than a goal to complete. I'm having a really good time just focusing on watching French RU-vid, Tv shows and books. If you want a different approach to learning the language, feel free to check out my update videos. Btw, you were one of the RU-vidrs that really motivated and inspired me when I was just getting started. Thank you for your channel!

I adore your videos! especially the ones where you showed yourself making mistakes and the process of working through it, it was quite inspiring. You and Max were a joy to watch together as well too. One thing i always struggle with is converting my typical English phrases into the french equivalent, they have their own idioms and phrases for things and some of ours don't work so a video of this nature would be excellent if you ever need a recommendation. Like, you could say a phrase that you would use in everyday life that wouldn't translate exactly. I don't know, just a thought. Good to see you back in this space

I was so excited to get a notification of your new video. If we have learned anything in the last 2 years, it is follow your passion, so if French is not your passion, then don't do it.

I'm so glad you're back! It's really nice to hear French spoken by a native English speaker, also hearing your frustrations about language learning are so helpful because it's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking it's just you!

Only the other day I went on your channel wondering if you had any new videos and to revisit your old ones. Glad to see all is well. As for needing to learn French for your future child....its lovely but not essential. I grew up with a parent who only spoke English and one that was bilingual and there was never an issue. Like you say learning only things you will really need in whatever your situation is great and having a laid back approach will make it a more fun experience.

People don't tend to watch videos thinking "who is this? what makes them so interesting? why do they think we should listen to them?" RU-vid videos are judged on whether they're interesting or boring. 99% of the time, if people are interested they'll watch and if you bore them they'll leave and never think about you again. When people judge you it usually comes down to that. Practically no-one judges you on why YOU think what you have to say is interesting or important. The other 1% of the time people watch videos they find boring but the person making the video has a nice voice that's easy to fall asleep to. You've had over a million views and your voice, while very nice, isn't one to fall asleep to.

Thank you for sharing these things! I came across your video through Babbel series and I shared many of the fear with speaking. Even when I understand bits and pieces on what they are saying, I learned that I don’t want to disturb people and that is really difficult to go on learning and engaging. Anyway, thank you for sharing and I’m glad for your update and you sharing where you are and how you are doing now :) No worries, we can meet again in a few years. :) maybe blogging would be a better medium to update on your time and experiences? :) cuz I’ll love to follow you! :) I’m curious to the possibilities to work overseas. Is it possible for you to share what are you doing in France? :)

I just found your channel today from RU-vid's algorithm system. I've been studying languages since the sheltering in place started and recently started learning French. My thinking on languages is you have to find your point(s) of motivation. If you can find a way to keep it fun, that helps there too. As far as RU-vid goes, my thought would be to just keep it authentic. Something special to you. That often appeals to me more than any specific content. I just subscribed to your channel so you must be doing something right. :) It's good to hear you are doing better. Take care.

Never underestimate the power of a kind word or deed in how it impacts the lives of other people. Also, don't be surprised if the person you are now is not the person you were ten or twenty years ago. Life is a journey and we make the best of our situations in order to enjoy it all. I enjoy videos like yours because I struggle with French and it is nice to know other people have the same difficulties I do in trying to learn another language. Take care, be safe, & Merry Christmas.

Try italki, Aurella. I used it for my German and went from barely being able to string sentences together to having decent conversations. It's low stress, you can pick tutors that suit your style, and you end up having a fun conversation first and learning as a by-product.

Also, it's great to see an update. I used to use your videos as motivation to work on my own French skills. I'm also thinking of delving into social media, and I feel like I would have that exact same thought process. Sounds stressful!
