An update on my Beech BE-65 Queen Air's annual inspection.

I got checked out in the U8F with the geared engines when I was in the Va Guard I felt like I was flying a WW2 ERA aircraft. The Army decided to take ours and put the 720’s on her we were excited to get engines that we didn’t have to baby so much. They ended up giving us a brand new King Air C12D and it came with it’s own civilian crew chief who babied that aircraft, we thought we had died an went to Heaven. Never had any issues!

If money wasn't a problem... what aircraft would you love to own and fly?

I like the Space Shuttle paint job on that airplane! My french bulldog (Francis) would love a ride! He has mutt muffs!!!

Very nice! In 1981 & 82 I was working as a apprentice aircraft mechanic in the Canadian north, the company I worked for Ram Air Charter owned a Queen Air similar to yours except with IGSO - 480 engines. I was supervised doing a top overhaul on the engines and our pilot took me up for the test flight letting me fly it around for 15 minutes, then he did a power on stall...that was memorable! She was fully stalled and came down like a brick! Lots of fun back then. Those direct drive engines must be more economical?

Your amazon link to Ferry Pilot doesn't seem to be working for me. Also, I don't know what goes into making an audible version, but I love to listen to books and go watch jets (35's and 16's) at Luke AFB here in the Phoenix area most days for lunch.

My first "big airplane" corporate job after leaving the USAF (C-7A, KC-135) in 1972. Great airplane and easy to fly. I always wanted to own an EXCALIBER" but ended up owning several other fun airplanes during my 47 year career as a professional pilot. '

You have no idea how badly I want a Queenie. I'm totally fine with my Baron, but if I had a bigger hangar, I'd be ripping around in a Queen. Get this, The Wife approves - she'd be my copilot and a stew! Can't wait to see/hear this beaut fly!

i take these twice a month on my commute. They are pretty sweet. The company I use have two, each have the 8 cylinder upgrade.

IGSO-480 originally on the Queen Air. The Excalibur mod is a perfect fit-normally aspirated Lycoming IO-720-basically 2 IO-360's-bulletproof. The Great State of Wisconsin had several of those 'ol girls in their fleet way back in the 90's-couple of good friends of mine drove them. Great sturdy planes.
