In this series of videos, lovingly called "Story Time" we interview prominent guitarists to find out their most charming, curious and interesting stories - the details that are not typically part of the traditional interviews they've done over and over again over the course of their careers. Our attempt is to get them "off script" and to tell of the more candid moments in their momentous lives.
All proceeds from monetization of this video goes to the GSI Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises money to support music education in public schools. Visit our site for more information: www.gsifoundat...

"People don't listen for mistakes". As an amateur, many times, after the concert, we said about a problem that happened, but friends and other listeners quite often said that hadn't noticed anything !

And if one understands math and percentages it’s impossible, I think. Rather, what she (and countless others) mean is not be just 85%, 90%, or even 99% prepared, but 100% prepared.

@@guermeisterdoodlebug7980 The way I think of it is, suppose you play the piece 100% perfectly in a comfortable situation like when you’re practicing at home. But suppose also that this 100% perfection is the absolute limits of your ability, so that if any amount of difficulty is added the performance will drop from 100% which means mistakes will start to be made. I think what she’s saying is you need to be so prepared that you give yourself wiggle room. So, suppose that external factors such as nerves reduced your ability to play by about 10% (it’s weird to put numbers on it but bear with me). You need to aim to be so prepared that even after that 10% reduction in ability, you still are able to play the piece 100% perfectly.

@@weinrotklitzerglanz6892 1. 100% preparado (arreglado) Pueden suceder cosas inesperadas. 2. Entrena para enfocarte completamente en la música (no permitas distracciones) 3. No te lo tomes demasiado en serio ... la gente no viene a escuchar errores
