RU-vid never gave an explanation, other than a canned email saying I was engaging in "spam and scams." That, of course, was nonsense. I contacted them via Twitter; they said they would look into it, but replied 24 horus later with the same canned reply. They refused to say what was the "scam" or where I had "spammed" anybody. When a video is uploaded to RU-vid, they have algorithms that check for any rights claims. Most of the time, if a video or audio clip is flagged, it says that the claimant allows use of it so long as I don't charge and RU-vid can run ads on it. That's about 95% of the time. So they know it's there, but they grant permission anyway. With the rest, I can file an appeal. The claimant has 30 days to respond. 99% of the time, nothing happens. I always file an appeal based on the Fair Use doctrine, citing it was a live news report of a baseball game. I've never had a problem with that appeal, if anyone reads it at all. So what happened with the old channel? I think it was glitch on their end, and they refused to admit it. This time, I created three channels, one for baseball, so if one gets nuked the others remain.

Just to show what fustercluck these algorithms are ... On another channel I just uploaded my tape of CNN's 9/11 coverage. It was blocked by a claim by a Romanian company that claimed it owns two minutes of that footage. Total nonsense. I filed an appeal, but it takes 48 hours minimum to clear. If the Romanian company actually responds and denies the appeal, then I have to delete the segment. RU-vid has no way to appeal a fraudulent claim.

@@StephensBaseballArchives I used to file claims. But it never works. I just make the edit to my videos if it means having to either mute or clip the segment, unfortunately.

@@TheBricksAndIvyArchive I've had pretty good luck. I've yet to lose a baseball game on appeal. On my other channels, I had a few that I lost, but I knew it was a risk, e.g. I just lost an episode of the PBS series "The American Experience." It was cleared, but then a day later it was blocked by PBS. I'm not going to win that one, so I deleted it. On the old channel, I uploaded a documentary about the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. It was fine for a couple weeks, then I received an email from the creator asking me to remove it. I did, but I explained that I did due diligence to see if it was in circulation (it was released in 1987) and couldn't find it for sale anywhere. I once uploaded an old Griffith Observatory documentary narrated by Leonard Nimoy. It was the day he died; I wanted everyone to see this side of Leonard. I received an email a few days later from someone at Griffith. They were nice about it, and understood it was because of Leonard's passing, but they said it was still for sale in their gift shop. I think it boils down to where and how to pick your battles. :-)

It has been sixteen years since the Angels have been in the playoffs. It has been eleven MONTHS since the Yankees have been there. The Yankees, of 103 wins during the year, are in their planning stages of the World Series parade route for the fifth time in seven years. But the Anaheim Angels rallied from three deficits in Game 1. Troy Glaus smashed home runs in the 6th to tie the game, then in the 8th to put the Halos up, 4-3. Come the bottom of the 8th, with two on and two out, the Angels didn't go with Troy Percival and brought in lefty Schoeneweis to pitch to Jason Giambi. Giambi singled home the tying run. Then, Bernie Williams hit the three-run blast to put the Yankees ahead to stay, 8-5. And it looks like business as usual for the Yankees. Especially since my Oakland A's got upset by the Twins in Game 1 at Oakland. Despite making three errors in the first two innings and some other comical plays, and trailing 5-1, the Twins rallied to win, 7-5. Meanwhile, the Cardinals' Jim Edmonds took Randy Johnson deep in the first as the Redbirds trounced the Big Unit and the Diamondbacks, 12-2.

Troy was good for the 9th inning, but his track record was that he didn't do so well when brought in to pitch in the 8th or earlier, especially in the middle of an inning. I think it was his mindset.

Weren't the Angels in the playoffs in 2014? I think they lost to the Royals.
@cdelano81
@cdelano81 Год назад
@@ryanevans8566 Yes. The Halos had the best record in baseball in 2014, with Mike Trout taking home AL MVP honors. That Anaheim team is overlooked, because they got swept by KC in the ALDS. It was the only time in the 2010s the Angels have been in postseason play. And it's wait til next year again for the team in Red.

Till this day i don't get it, the yankees in that era always had issues with those angel teams. Even in there dynasty era before that 2002 season. On paper that year the Yankees looked like the better team also.

The Angels had scouted the Yankees and realized New York had poor arms in the outfield. The Angels had lots of speed and played "contact ball," putting the ball into play, which exploited those poor arms. That was the secret.

This is the series where Torre lost his post-season mojo. Game 2 the Yankees could have gone up 2-0 but Torre didn't go for the throat and bring in Rivera for a six out save. They had a travel day after this game and should have gone for it. Instead they went west with the series tied 1-1 and promptly got swept.
