He literally doesn't know how to let go and that's what makes it tragic. He isn't even intentionally being like those toxic husbands. And after the Jedi told him to "let go of everyone you love because emotions equals dark side". Thank god luke changed them in his New Jedi Order in the EU. He realized how toxic the Jedi were for doing this

I think he was plenty likeable in the Prequels.

I personally like Anakin clone wars multimedia the comics,novel and 2003 animated series they seems more faithful to movies version of a trouble young man with a dark fate headed tour him not to say I don’t Like clone wars 2008 it shows him he still a good person and both he’s a hero.

Anakin loved like a teenager- unbalanced and emotional. Padme loved like an adult - Anakin was a priority but wasn’t going to do impulsive things like disappear when she had her duties to do.

More like Anakin’s love for Padme was used by Palpatine as a catalyst to get him to enter the darkside. But yes, absolutely agree 100%.

Maybe because he’s actually in love with Padme and lost his grip when he was around her. Tbh, I didn’t think he did all that bad anyways with Padme but he definitely has more flare when he’s with those he’s not trying to actually woo.

He can be manipulative, vile and deceitful with people like the Zygerrian Queen. He doesn't care about their opinions or well-being and, ultimately, he is simply using her as a means to an end. With Padme, it's different. She is the most important person to him, he doesn't want to harm her in any way and he doesn't wish to appeal to her lower instincts to manipulate her.

Oh man, I know. That moment always makes me think of the next and last time we see him in the show, as Vader. I actually saw this scene first right after the show had finished before I decided to watch it. And by the time I got to the final scene properly, I had the full context of that moment. After spending an entire series with Anakin and seeing him as a warrior, a protector, a leader, a jokester, a friend, a husband, and a mentor/big brother, that final moment is when I saw Vader in a way that never clicked with me before; as Anakin's tomb.
