A lot of Republic-era Jedi would have a heart attack at that design mostly because it's against Jedi philosophy. Lightsabers are supposed to be defensive weapons, not for attack. But post Order 66 Jedis and Padawans need a more practical way to defend themselves than to wait for stormtroopers to wander in to your laser stick.

Why would commanding a Star Destroyer disqualify him from piloting a freighter? It's like saying someone used to captaining a Nimitz carrier is disqualified from driving a cargo truck.

Casual joke lines that is actually deeper thannit seems. One of the reasons why I love this show.

For real, the Rebels are the thematic Good Guys but as shown by Rebels and Rogue One, the Rebellion and a bunch of the unassociated Rebel cells like Saw Gerrera's have plenty of agents that commit some of the worst crimes in the galaxy apart from the Empire and Sith. Sabotaging planetary infrastructure even when it kills innocents as long as it sets the Empire back like the destruction of the Star Destroyer refueling station on Bespin in the Battlefront 2 campaign, covert assassinations on critical Imperials even if they're forced to work for the Imps and actively help the Rebels like Galen Erso, framing innocent workers/civilians to maintain their cover in Imperial installations of which I can't actually recall any off the top of my head, and of course terrorism of every single kind. From crashing Empire Day parades and ambushing patrolling convoys inside of busy cities to destroying large orbiting constructions and ships without thinking first "Maybe we should try to stop some of the debris from crushing anyone". Maybe not the first Death Star but the Death Star 2 in canon and Legends absolutely thrashed Endor's surface to the point where in Legends at least, the Rebels had to build a planetary shield to save the planet's surface from destruction. And all of the Star Destroyers and space stations the Rebels blew up that would just fall straight down in pieces, like the Imperial Dome on Lothal

I read somewhere that AP-5 was supposed to be the original character design of C-3PO. Practically half of the Ghost's crew's character designs are made out of the old and unused designs for the Original Trilogy characters.

The problem is that people seems to think that Star Wars Rebels would be as destructive as the clone wars. If that's the case, then it would break canon because according to Episode 4, the successful capture of the Death Star plans was the first major rebel victory.
