patelowski technically he is until he becomes sidious’ apprentice, and Anakin seems to believe that Mace Windu is the ‘treacherous’ one, at least in this game. It’s also inferred that he is still a Jedi, on the brink of becoming a Sith
I commented this on a similar video before, but sometimes in the heat of the moment (an impulse or a fight), you do things that seem out of character due to special circumstances. Remember, Anakin is under the impression that his wife and unborn child _(he doesn't know Padmé is carrying twins)_ are going to meet the same fate as his mother Shmi. Palpatine then manipulates Anakin into thinking that only he can save them. When Windu tries to murder Palpatine, he is by extension murdering Padmé and their children in Anakin's mind. Anakin of course, doesn't actually want to kill Windu, but because of the context and situation, his actions are a result of an *"us or them"* type of reaction.
Lam Nguyen I know that. In the movie it makes more sense than in this game I was just joking because it seems illogical to try and kill someone for 5 minutes straight and then he suprised after you kill that dude lol. But this was just a video game back in 2005 and sometimes cutscenes especially for movie based games just don’t make to much sense.
This is bechause he was already conflicted. He needs palps and that is all. He screams about jedi ways then it was convinient for him. His path to Dark Side was a long road. He was always close. Jedi law did not stop him killing tusken raiders and marry a women and killing count Duku. But jedi law prevent him from killing chancellor who was a puppet master all the time, and Anakin knew it... ironic.
@HidanVenom episode 2 and the Clone Wars 2002 version and the one that came out after that would explain well why Anakin would turn some of the stuff the Jedi Order due to Anakin is pretty messed up in what episode they actually managed to convince Anakin that Obi-Wan Kenobi was killed just so he could go undercover Anakin was really conflicted throughout most of the episodes and the movies
HidanVenom Wasn’t his main motivation for turning (before CW) saving Padmé? Windu was about to kill the man who he thought could help him achieve that so in desperation, he cut off his arm, allowing Sheev to kill him. By then he had passed the point of no return. Before all that it was evident he was frustrated with the Jedi.
@@asuraspath2262 Except he did confide in Yoda and Yoda told him to let go of everything that he fears to lose. How do you let go when you've lost everything as a slave?
Mace Windu: You have been tainted by the dark side... Anakin: No! Mace Windu: And you have failed the Jedi order! Anakin: NO! A few moments later Anakin: Feel the dark side’s power
Windu: “You have been tainted by the dark side.” Anakin: “No!” Windu: “You have failed the Jedi order.” Anakin: “NO!” Windu: “And I don’t love you anymore!” Anakin: “NOOOO!”
Anakin: Stares at Mace, willingly elbows him, does an elaborate twirl so to impale him while facing backwards and kicks him out of the window. Also Anakin, a few seconds later: "WhAt HaVe I dOnE?!"
Felipe Francisco that’s because In the movie that clip actually makes sense since he only chopped mace hand off he did not throw him out the window the games cutscenes completely negates the movie continuity clips BIG TIME and honestly they should have never put movie clips in a Star Wars game based off a movie that has not released yet not only does it ruin some parts of the movie before it’s released on the big screen aka ruin the going in blind shock value but it also messes the game up from actual feeling like a game in doing so making it feel very low stock begit that’s one thing I never like about games based on movies they were very cheaply made the developers rush it and are lazy to actually develop actual in game cutscenes of the movie because of that iam glad that the movie to game era shit is over I don’t miss it one bit
An unfortunate game mechanic. Once the player has passed this level and Anakin gets access to Dark Side abilities, going back and playing the previous levels carries over those upgrades, including more Dark Side oriented dialogue. Makes for a hilarious bug.
He knew it was wrong, even if he wanted to do it. The Chancellor get the worst of Anakin out and encouraged him to carry on with Dooku's death. Windu saw nothing wrong with executing an unarmed prisoner out of fear of the damage he could do if he spared him, at least until the Senate gave the Chancellor a fair trial. What I mean is, even if Anakin also wanted Palpatine to live because he needed him for personal reasons, he knew that what he did wasn't right and it shouldn't be repeated. Instead Windu, who was supposed to be a master, was about to murder him without hesitation and with an expression of self-righteous hatred in his face.
Anakin: "The jedi council must be told about this, you cannot make this decision on your own" Windu: "I am the Council" Anakin: "Not yet" Windu: "Its treason then"
Well, to be honest, Anakin was right when he said to Windu that the Jedi Council must be told about his attempt to assassinate Palpatine who was still a chancellor at that time and that Windu could not bring such decision on his own. The moment Anakin informed Windu about that Palpatine was actually Darth Sidious, Windu never did anything to warn other Jedis about it nor to warn them about the upcoming Jedi Purge by Order 66. No, he just impulsively went to arrest/kill the Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious without alerting anybody or considering about possible consequences and how could they affect others. And in the end, Windu's impulsiveness were his eventual downfall and death.
It's video game, so You have to fight a bit longer than 2 seconds, don't you think? + It shows in a lot of scenes the alternate endings/ways that are not in the canon movie.
@@jackmclaughlin9602 I know that Mace Windu was focused, however, I'm comparing the movie with the game, not by logic. Of course, it's a game and there must be fight.
If anything the dialogue should've gone something like: Mace: "Anakin can't you see? He's manipulating you!" Anakin: "Like how the council has been manipulating me my whole life?! I was more free as a slave on Tatooine then I was being your dog! (or SW equivalent to one)" Mace: "Don't let your anger take hold of you Anakin! Chancellor Palpatine has control of the senate and the courts, letting him live would only give him time to scheme up a scapegoat for his crimes!" Anakin: "Sith lord or not, if you kill him now you're no less in the dark side then he is!" Mace, now heavily winded: "So be it" *the fight increases in difficulty, as Mace taps fully into the dark side/vaapad*
And if this happened in current canon, Anakin could mention getting revenge on behalf of Ahsoka and her unjust court trial that framed her, which caused her to leave
Mace Windu: You have been tainted by the dark side... Anakin: NO Mace Windu: And you have failed the jedi order! Anakin: NO!! One of the best cutscenes in this boss fight,as well as: Mace Windu: Your reign of evil ends now! Anakin: No -- It's your treachery that's finished! These 2 cutscenes are amazing
I have a question for you: when Mace Windu threw Anakin violently to that machine did he pretend that it made him to pass out? If the answer is "no" then how did he manage to be again on his feet in 5 seconds and fully ready not only to fight but also to defeat Mace Windu? But if the answer is "yes" then why did Anakin do that in the first place? Wouldn't be better to grab his lightsaber and start laughing? Or is it because the shock of the crushing caused him temporate concussion
There are a lot of moments in this game where they changed scenes for sake of gameplay that don't map very well. In the movie, Anakin's betrayal of Mace Windu happened suddenly and impulsively. With Anakin having acted in the heat of the moment, once he had a moment, he quickly became horrified and shocked that he had betrayed and ultimately helped to kill a fellow Jedi. If they wanted to keep the battle but still make Anakin's reaction seem more sensible, they could have had Windu be more openly aggressive to Anakin, thus making it initially seem like a case of self-defense.
I could never get past Dooku as a child but I retried it as a teenager and it is probably the most satisfying Star Wars game I’ve ever played. The fights are hard, but when you get something going you really feel the excitement
Anakin joins the dark side because he sees Mace attempt to strike down Palpatine, thinking the Jedi are corrupt. In the movie, he joins the Dark side because Palpatine says he can help Anakin keep Padmé alive, knowing of the nightmares that Anakin is having.
Actually it’s makes a lot more sense in the movie. The game makes Anakin like a psychopath who turns to the dark side in minutes and is suddenly ready to murder the entire Jedi order, while in the movie he disarms Mace standing by the principles of the Jedi order, which it’s against the Jedi code to execute a defenseless prisoner. Anakin did so being completely unaware that Palpatine was going to kill him after which is why he’s shocked (what have I done). Palpatine basically forces Anakin to turn by that action as Anakin is now an accomplice in the murder of Mace Windu.
Not exactly . Anakin here expected Mace to ARREST palpatine not execute him. As dave filoni said, Mace changing his mind to kill palpatine made anakin to believe that while he is a Sith, the jedi may really be taking over the Republic.
Sorry, Mace would've beaten Anakin. Mace himself taps into the Dark Side while fighting; it's what fuels his lightsaber form "vaapad". His hatred of the Sith is the only thing preventing him from going to the Dark Side himself. That aside, SLJ had no idea how to sword fight. It was a struggle pulling off his duel with Palpatine having to constantly intertwine the stunt doubles while still showing facial close-ups.
@@vetarlittorf1807 Dude at this point Windu was probably fighting far below peak levels and Anakin was already a rival to him by ROTS so it makes sense that Anakin wins in a brutal struggle.
So much of this game should of been in the actual movie. Especially the final battle against Obi-Wan, it would of brought real emotion into how the betrayal that both Anakin and the Jedi felt was genuine on both parties. And it also would of shown that Anakin truly did have conflict in him as well
I remember getting this game about a week before the movie came out, and I only played up to this point to preserve the rest of the movie for me. It was the perfect spot to stop. LoL
I hope they make a remaster of this Game , was / is my Favourite Star Wars Game , i hope PS5 will have PS2 backwards Compatilibity , because of this Game
For the record a when a prospect for Sith Apprentice, if its a Jedi he/she/it must Serve all ties with that order. . . . That's why when Anakin when finally snaps out of the rush of the battle he realized, that he just not only kill windu, but serve ties with the Jedi order that's why he cried what have I done
I got this game for my 7th birthday along with 5 of the plastic lightsabers with the clip and star wars TFU, and battlefront 2 (original) it was my best and most memorable birthday ever. This video brings back memories...
@@steve8610 as I said. They werent the focus. Most people like me and many others would just run large playlists on instant action. Take the very first battlefront for example the campaign was basically just regular matches with very small changes. A campaign pretty much was non existant in the first battlefront.
Blame Ash's Pikachu for this!! At one point he got overpowered once again and he started to indulge to the Dark Side. When Obi-Wan and Anakin came to cure him Pikachu attacked them with Thunder knocking Obi-Wan uncounscious. But Anakin's midiclorians absorbed that new kind of energy.
This makes more sense, a master like Mace Windu having his hand cut without seeing it coming is lame especially with his suspicion of Anakin and his confusion and fear.
I think in the screenplay if they had this fight instead of the original scene, where he quickly cuts off his hands and then he dispatched Windu out the window. This may have been better to help build the dark side significantly more in Anakin if there was a fight between Windu & Anakin. But they done it quite quickly.
Anakin does make a good point. Being a Sith isn't against the law in the Galactic Republic. What is, however, is funding terrorists and playing both sides of a destructive and bankrupting conflict.
