The Elektron Analog Four is truly unique! Let's take a look at some of the features that makes this synth different from the rest of analog synthesizers.
This year, I've moved away from Ableton and VST, invested in the AR, A4 and OT, and my music output (and fun while doing it) has increased x10000, it's quite incredible what more limitations and a hands on device brings.
thanks for this. I hope you make more A4 content, because there's always more to learn with this deep device, beyond the functions and into the creative techniques and useful workflows.
@@SONWUin a good way? Or is the ratio between config and music-making a bit heavy on config? I’m pretty sold on getting an OTmk2 to go with my A4mk2 for live performance, but I’d love some feedback/thoughts on this set up
@@Tapepusher I think the answer is not easy. It depends on your temperament. The OT is very deep and the way things interact can cause some head scratching and frustration at times. But the possibilities are immense. You can use it as a looper, an FX unit, a mixer, sampler, MIDI sequencer… I think the A4 & OT make an excellent combo though! (Just know that you'll need time to learn the OT like a real instrument) In case you want to save a little time, feel free to book private lessons with me ;) I can help you get going on the OT quicker: ko-fi.com/sonwu/shop
I notice a little overdrive on top of the analogfour makes wonders to the original a little "static" sound, distorting the input with extra gain on the mixer (on my case KM-60) does the trick, everything sounds much thicker, no need to do it too much of course.
I will see…there are a few videos I have to get done first. BUT from what I remember I parameter locked the Chorus depth and spread as well as delay tile maybe. Playing with the chorus parameters is good fun
Sound wise, I think they are both great…not that big of a difference. But I just like the display of the mk2 soooo much more. If there was an AKmk2 though, that would be great :)
I did exactly that. While the integrated keyboard is really nice...the screen on the mk2 makes all the difference. Also the different LED colors for accents, slides, etc. is a nice touch. For me its definitely worth it and I couldn't go back. I learned my lesson :) @@bentropy
Hi! Yes, I would be happy to do lessons on the Analog Four. However I must admit, that my proficiency with it is not as high, as with some other devices featured on my channel. If you are talking about beginner-lessons though, I think that shouldn't be a problem, as I can walk you through all the basics. Let me know what you think!
There are some sounds pre-installed. Most of the drums are from www.kimurataro.com/ sound packs, but there are also free sound packs on elektron.se ! Hope this helps!
Man, I was selling off my RYTM and A4 mk1s as I updated to the mk2s but this makes me kinda think I might need to keep the A4 mk1 to have twice the voices!
