WOW this game sucks. Huge thanks to all of you that showed up while I streamed this game. Seriously 70 concurrent viewers is crazy! I love hanging out with you guys and if you want to hang out in the future come give a follow! www.twitch.tv/jarek4gamingdragon
I have a simple answer on why people watch other people playing bad games. I'd rather watch someone else to play terrible title, especially if that someone else can provide some entertainment on their own, rather than just experience this crap myself, asking myself about my life decisions.
I love how bad Turning Point is, it was a running gag with my friends for years. But I remember playing this game online at launch, and being the only person in the entire world trying to find a match. Also, did you find the giant banana easter egg?
I did not but I did just look up videos of it. Makes me wonder how many easter eggs we've missed in legendary or how many people actually want to go search for them haha
... I've gotten so used to my awful laptop playing games on low that I geniuenly don't feel any sort of disgust when I see how this game looks... Man, I'm poor.
Graphics aren't everything. I've got a gaming PC that can run the latest releases on high settings, but it's been gathering dust for six months as I downsized to a smaller place and don't have room for it (also poor). I'm now playing a load of great games on my 360 that I didn't get round to back in the day, and I'm having just as much fun.
@@djjamesporter4740 Yes, and of course it was shitty but hey it was still a cool concept. Just executed very poorly. I kind of wish someone would remake it and add more stuff to it and polish it and it would be a great game im sure.
Dispite all of its flaws (of which it has MANY), I love this game. Replay it ocasionaly. Best was I can describe it is like playing a badly drawn comic book.
Factual correction: This was released in Feb 2008, not in 2009. I got this on sale for $1.00 online. After I had played through Legendary I wanted to see how this game was. I never ran into the strange bugs with characters getting stuck or teleporting. What I do remember was the unique grapple deaths you could inflict on the Nazis. That was the one mechanic the game really got right. Other than that, it was a WWII shooter that was rushed to release on PC and it showed. Regarding the alternate history arc... consider how badly it would have went for the allies if the US did not have access to the British airbases. Germany's ability to manufacture for its war machine was pounded into the stone age by B-17's flying overhead. The United States was able to keep manufacturing new planes, tanks, and munitions with relative impunity. I'm not saying Germany would have conquered the world if they overran the UK, but the war definitely would have went differently. How differently nobody can say, but it's a "good enough" premise to set up the "what if" scenario for the game. I found the game enjoyable despite its obvious flaws, but not particularly memorable. When I played Wolfenstein: The New Order, I realized I was basically playing what Turning Point could have been. Of course, shooting Nazi scum is always better when BJ Blazkowicz is behind the trigger!
I remember playing this and getting motion sickness because of horrible frame rate and laughing too hard. I actually enjoyed it not because if the fact it was good, but the glitches we're just hilarious.
Back in my younger days, I would go to the clearance section of Target and buy like all the games there for pc cause they were dirt cheap. I bought this one and actually didn't think it was that bad lol.
I played the demo back in the day and was really blown away by being able to look up and see all the ships flying overhead. Seeing the steelbook in used shops always enticed me to want to pick it up, but one day I was able to get the regular edition for $1 brand new. I played 10 minutes beyond the demo, couldn't pass wherever I was at, and regretted my purchase. I love collecting games and have never sold, traded, or given one away in the 25 years I've been gaming, but this one almost made me reconsider doing so. Despite all that, I think I'm finally going to try finishing it now.
I don't remember buying this game, but I remember it just being there the first time I got a good enough computer to play games with. It's like it materialized from thin air.
0:00 Kinda freaking out because when you mentioned this game in the last video this is the exact image that I remember from the game, probably because at this scene my mother was sick... strange thing to remember :/
In all fairness, Churchill was the driving force for the UK to continue the war against Germany when much of the UK Parliament wanted to sue for peace. If that had happened it's questionable if the US had got involved when it did considering it couldn't use Britain as a launching point and wouldn't have any strong allies to draw it into the war. It would have also allowed Germany to focus more of it's force against Russia or provided them more time to build more devastating weapons.
I thought this was an early near-launch window game for the PS3. Picked it up from Gamestop when I first got my PS3 cuz it was 89 cents, and the description on the back of the box was intriguing. I still have yet to play it some 8 years later
Damn, I remember when I first heard about this game, it sounded absolutely cool - in concept. Back then I had a very crappy PC, so I couldn't play it at launch, and basically forgot about this game for years, even when I eventually got a decent computer years later. After watching this review I'm so glad I never bothered to even torrent this game at some point, hahaha
This game had an amazing glitch where the shotgun would always glitch and double fire. Also when you would shoot an enemy with a shotgun the enemies would just bob up and nose dive.
God. I've bin trying to remember this game for the longest time. You can never really find games that people don't talk about. So thank you. You are doing God's work.
“And the military is totally fine with just pulling up civilians and saying alright fine, you’re going to fight for us now.” Jarek said in a tone of disbelief, not remembering about that thing known as THE DRAFT & the fact that is literally what draftees are... ;)
I remember a time as a kid I went to EB games to get a game and I had a budget and they only had X amount of games available that fit in that price range. It was either this or nothing I should have taken nothing. Even as a kid I thought this sucked I just didn't know why.
I think the reason the SFX sounds like that is because the gain is too high. I'm not sure how game engines manage that, but if there's a quick fix in an ini file or something that might at least bring it down to passable.
I bought this game at a pawn shop around 2011 alongside Halo 3. I played a whole two missions, got about halfway into mission 3 and died. I thought "No biggie, it'll take me back to a recent checkpoint"..... *It took me back to the start of the level.* I noped the fuck out of that game and sold it at a Vintage Stock. The game is so bad that they have like three copies sitting on their shelf, and I'm 99% certain my copy is among them.
My friend/neighbor got this as apresent from his uncle and he got like 56 xbox 360 cd's without the boxes he had like mafia 2, splinter cell conviction, and hitman blood money then U saw this I was about to borrow it but I remembered this review
I loved this game as a kid, I can see my legs and everything in some of the cods they never had that at the time, I never had any bugs playing it as I bought it on disc when it was being sold by the developer
I had this game when it was new in 2009, it's a console port and it DOES crash after the tutorial. I gave up trying to run it back then. Oh and get this: The developers actively refused to fix the crash bugs. No wonder they went out of business.
I started watching your videos for nostalgic trips and wonder if you would try and play Clive Barker’s Jericho game. Also glad to join as a subscribers.
I like both kinds of analysis videos - new and old games. You've got a really good voice for this stuff and your commentary/thoughts/reviews are great. You don't bother with the bullshit, like you said "just shut the fuck up and enjoy video games."
I remember the game coming out and getting trashed, and the GFW radio guys talking about it. Back then Vista just came out, and that was a buggy shitshow for so long. Saun Elliot talked about the resolution or something being off so bad, that every "interact with door" part turned into a pixel hunt, trying to hunt the exact spot you had to aim just to be able to press the action key. And also him using the AI (that you cant walk/phase through if they get in the way) to slide him to objectives, just sit in front of them and let them push you through a room e.g.
I think maybe in terms of the story, the writers were thinking that if Churchill wasn't there to replace Neville Chamberlain, that the British people wouldn't really have a strong figurehead, thus their fighting spirit would be non-existant? Or maybe parliament tore itself apart trying to figure out what to do, and during this chaos the nazi's waltzed in and took over? It's an interesting idea, but probably could've used some more time at the table
@@brawler5760 agreed, im not defending the lack of explanation from the writers, just trying to think of a way that Churchill dying would've done anything
man I was hyped for this game when it was announced. I was just getting into historical firearms and all the experimental guns and vehicles they mentioned in the promo material got me pumped. I never bought it in the end and, I guess, I'm better off that way.
U should do Brothers in arms hells highway that was the last game of the franchise n it was really good for me but most people thought it was ehh would love to see ur take on it.
New game: don't want the spoilers, can watch anywhere. Old game with a reputation: can't watch so easily elsewhere, either already seen all the spoilers or clearly don't care to get the game in the last decade.
Hey Jarek! Have you considered checking out a game called Exodus from the Earth? It’s really bad, and I think it would do well for a stream/analysis video!
I actually have that game. The last level was hard in the beginning with all the zombies swarming you, but once you found the M60 machine gun, it was a lot more manageable.
Me, I loved the game. Regrettably it is not running anymore on my PC. In a way it reminds at FREEDOM FIGHTERS from 2003 just that the Russians were exchanged by a German mob. Only thing funny were the German Parashooters. The way they looked was as if Disney´s Beaqgle Boys were invading New York.
At least the soundtrack was salvagable, as it was composed by Michael Giacchino of all people! Its just a shame its barely audiable with the gun sounds blasting over it regardless how much you change the settings.
I remember playing this on my Mom's ex-boyfriends PS3 a long time ago and I dont remember it looking this fucking shitty, wow it's bad. I used to think it was a decent game....boy was I wrong. I think the concept is cool though, think that is what drew me in in the first place.
Oh my god. The first and only time I've saw this game was that menu with the TVs. It was part of an Xbox demo service for new games coming out. They had Bioshock, the first FEAR (I'm pretty sure it was FEAR. The character's shadow from FEAR reminds me of it, and I'm pretty sure it was an office setting), and this game. Except this game didn't have a demo, just the menu with a "coming soon" or something. I thought the idea sounded interesting but never saw any gameplay and past that time the game just completely dropped off the radar. I never heard of it again. So I spent the past ten years every once in a while wondering, "What was that game with the Nazi takeover and the tvs in the window?" Finally I can close that book with a measure of disappointment.
I'm telling you. You should do the Civil war games. One of them is called something secret Weapons and the other is call a Nation divided. Musket rifles do not make for a fun and engaging game...
This was the first PS3 game I ever bought. One redeeming feature it did have was an amazing soundtrack done by the same guy who made the soundtracks for the Medal of Honor games and Secret Weapons over Normandy. Cool idea but horribly executed.
