May I suggest 'An Ocean of Strange Islands' to go into the Beanie of Justice - would love to hear your analysis of this epic number - there's so much to unpack for you!! Those lights though!😅 Take care!
Yeah definitely a monster of track that'd be interesting to analyze I reckon. There is also some cool bass playing on there by Jukka (especially towards the end), with a great tone.
Yes, Jukka can play! As he’s also in Wintersun. I just wonder when Tuomas utilizes his singing (or growling) in NW songs. Would be very interesting to hear that!
Floor was interviewed this evening on a Dutch talk show. She announced she will do next year a solo theater tour. At the end, she sang, with Marcel Fisser on acoustic guitar, a part of her song Hope. That brought tears to my eyes - how does she do that?
I think what you mean with the vocals hitting the ceiling is what Floor calls overdrive. You can check out this video on Floor's YT channel: "Belting, Curbing & Overdrive - Vocal MasterClass #4"
18:00 Absolutely. What's more, Floor can also create this w/o a mic. She does this through her mastery of "formants" & the manipulation of her vocal tract. It's basically two resonators boosting/colouring the signal produced by her vocal cords. Her unique physique - as in big, bigger, Floor - further guarantees an massive display of raw vocal power. In her glorious Revamp days, the sound techs always had great difficulty managing her power. There's a very educational comment by one that's still here on YT (somewhere.. let's see..). Anyhew, her mic often caved but even when this happened, you could still hear her loud & clear AND pitch perfect over the music. Floor gets all the recognition she deserves these days, but I believe there's still a great many people who don't really get just how outstanding she is as a performer and a vocalist. N.b.: the comment by the sound techie --> Wings of Pegasus - “Ok, so Floor Jansen just RAISED the bar to CRAZY heights!” (top comment, starting with "I knew she was good, very good... i did not know she was this good.. ")
Hello from Nightwish Army Sydney Australia. Been a fan of Chris Squire from 1971 until we lost him. His double and triple necked bass guitars added a touch of Spinal Tap. Tribal is a criticism of the abrahamic religions "Abraham cut into three".
Great reaction! The nice venue near by the lake in the video is in Kitee, Finland where they had their second last gig so far June 2023. I was there in the front row witnessing how wonderfully she performed even though she was heavily pregnant. Greetings from Finland!
That's one hell of an awesome bass. I've been playing bass since 1975. I've been playing a 6-stringer for the past 20 years. I really need to try a fan fret bass before I get too old. LOL
Kai had to add a bunch of drums added to his kit for this. I think this compilation was done to kinda put a wrap on all that tour. Given in the space of the scenes Floor had cancer, beat cancer, got pregnant, performed with a big baby pressing on her organs & then was finally made to take it easy until bub was born. Music theory is interesting but omg I'm in no way able to learn it properly
Pearl built on order the high toms for Kai Hahto, charging next to nothing from their ambassador drummer. The cans look ridiculously skinny but sound great.
Not that this will make much of a difference, but this song was both Marko and Jukka. As this track was on Human || Nature, Marko did record the studio track on it before he left, and obviously, you saw Jukka play it live, so you actually have Marko's hands on this while you see Jukka playing it live.
Something to throw into the Beanie: Blind Channel - Died Enough For You Nightwish - How’s The Heart Nightwish - Shoemaker Nightwish - Noise Nightwish - Pan Nightwish - Lanternlight Blind Channel - Dark Side Blind Channel - Left Outside Alone (Anastacia cover) Nightwish - While Your Lips Are Still Red And I could just go on… 😂
Funny you used Brittney as an example there. She sang Floor’s parts in the “Ayreon- Live beneath the waves” concert september 2023 because Floor was 8 months pregnant and she was pretty amazing from what I saw on the DVD. Also her “own” song in that concert “Star One- Fate of Man” from the Star One album “Revel in Time” was also really good.
This was Tuomas' indictment to organized religion. "Man found God and began to preach" And because man is tribal, they want the sense of belonging and they will put up with it. Comparing Floor to Brittney? Talking about living on the edge! Before you know it you'll be under siege from both ends. Of course it is a valid comparison, but try to explain that to their fan bases... (even though symphonic and power..it's not the same. They only share an o and a p.)
Brittney subbed for Floor on Ayreon while Floor was busy with little Lucy, so no one who knows both singers will complain. If you don't know who Brittney is, well that's all you need to know. She subbed for Floor and no one asked for a refund.
@@billattercliffe8655 Oh, I'm fully on board with that statement. But both have devoted fan bases that might not really understand how good they BOTH are.
This Nightwish video was an amazing collection of moments from Human. :II: Nature. tour. Incredible tour moments, sights, sounds & passion! You appreciate these talented musicians in Nightwish. Watch the Video that has the skeleton dance too you’ll enjoy that! 💀😅 Next: Definitely - The Weave - from Yesterwynde (Nightwish latest album) - Lots of base guitar!!
Now I wanna see you breakdown and react to "Nightwish - Sahara" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lTvYfLa4Wlk.html&ab_channel=EddJoss One of those jewels that tend to escape reactions. Also features crazy vocals and scales. These are the type of songs that I enjoyed the most because I am used to focus on the melodic lines and harmonies.
