Believe it or not, I quit following NASCAR week by week in 2017. I didnt watch a full race from the first Tx race that year until the Daytona 500 this year. One single thing resparked my NASCAR fandom: *Eric Estepp*
I feel like Byron has had a lot of mechanical problems. He was running really good in multiple races. Idk feel like tire issues have played a factor to.
@@shiny_Six Yeah I agree bad luck mixed with this whole pandemic has hurt them he's definitely still improving and he has a couple stage wins which is more then Kyle Busch can say.
How to be the 20 team year by year: -Start the season with a lot of optimism -Then proceed to disappoint your fans at another terrible start to the season that wasn't the driver's fault and being 20th in points -have a decent stretch of races in the 2nd month of competition. -Have finishes of 20th or worse in races 9-14 -Jones' contract is on the line -Proceed to show up in the second half of the regular season as you're in a chase spot when Jones' contract is on the line, as well to make sure Jones has tons of momentum before the chase starts by getting 5 straight top 5's before the second last race of the season. -Jones wins a race by either luck or clean air. -Jones signs another one year contract after winning. -Have lots of optimism coming into the chase as #20 fans say "this is our breakout year!" -Then proceed to embarrass yourselves by the whole team collapsing just as when chase season begins. Have a mechanical failure in the first race of the chase, then be involved in a crash not of Jones' doing and and another 1st round elimination. -Repeat year round
Keep an eye on front row motorsports they have also been on fire this season with John Hunter Nemechek and Michael McDowell, they have showed a lot of speed this season.
I hate Kyles practice argument. Those locked in are consistent every week and Kyle is get his position in the same draw as them. No one has been practicing and the guys at the top are constantly at the top towards the end of the race
And most people would say if JJ wins the cup this year, it’s rigged. In other words. People suck lol. No one can just be happy that a driver is doing good. I don’t get it

It’s pretty clear what’s wrong with Kyle Busch, he isn’t getting practice. His crew chief even confirmed that they do practice, adjust car, and race. But without that, we get him racing like this.
Kyle needs to practice!!! But if he was winning people would bitch about that, he’s won in 15 Straight years(Who knows maybe it stops)! Personally i hope he can turn it around...
I think this season will be remembered for a long time. For better or for worse this has been quite a historic year for NASCAR and probably for racing in general. I bet twenty-five, fifty years from now we're going to have lots of documentaries and stories to reflect upon.
Prediction: Stenhouse makes it in with a win at Daytona. Aric Almirola, the Busch brothers, and Matty D make the playoffs either on wins or points. Chaos ensues at Daytona with Ricky Stenhouse winning by being in front of the wrecks that occur or by the taking out the field take your pick. Meanwhile Jimmie and Clint both point their way in. Micheal McDoweel pulls an upseat at the Daytona road course
If not for wrecking in the lead at Darlington, failing inspection at the Coke 600 and missing the Brickyard due to 'Rona, JJ would be about 8th in the points. I've still got confidence #7time will get to victory lane one more time!
I think Rick Hendrick is losing alot of hope with Byron. Cmon Stenhouse! Actually that might be a chance. If Stenhouse can make the playoffs, and do okay next year. Stenhouse to the #24?
@@crussell6533 More like to the 48. Byron has had horrible luck but has shown potential, so I'd say give him another year and see what happens. Once he gets win #1, I'd imagine he'll be running like Bowman

I feel like he's way too harsh on him. A lot of what's been going on with him has been bad luck and probably lack of practice. And number 4 in fan vote is not that bad it's not like he's in last jeez.
Tyler made it to round of 12 last year and the youngest in the field but ok, you do you. And I love bubba but just look at the xfitity and truck series stats for the two and tell me who was better.
Kansas football Lifer then compare their truck stats, William had 7 in one year and bubba has 6 total in around 2 full seasons and a couple one-offs. Not hating on bubba just stating facts
Everytime I see that 100.000 can special my favorite part learning they were back. I had the same feeling a lot of you felt too they're back!!!!!! Because you didn't know how much I missed them but eric I kept tuning to find some information I know you talked about a race that I said wasn't one of the sports greatest moments. Talladega 15. I thought before the few weeks back was they're worst decision of the last 5 years.
@@killerstream23 I was there, he had a top three car most of the day but when he came off pit road about halfway through the race something didn’t look right. He was still able to run top ten after that til something eventually failed late in race causing a horrible finish. But he really did have almost a winning car for that race before that!
Hot Take but I think DiBenedetto will be the next Blaney. In a couple years he will be competing for wins every week. Reminder this is also his first year in good equipment too. He’s a solid driver and I see him getting better every year.
clint bowyer has more laps led then kyle busch by 9 that shows that kyle busch has had a horrible year edit after Kyle Busch got a stage win he does have more laps led now
I hope you are right, as Clint is the only thing keeping me interested in the (now) pc NASCAR. When he decides to retire, I'm done with what was once a great sport.
Before the season, NASCAR was so buzzed over Custer. They were asking how many races is it going to take for Custer to find victory lane? Meanwhile Reddick is cleaning out for ROY
I think Almirola and both Busch brothers are locked in. Though, that is with no bad race streaks. Everyone else could fall out with just 1 or 2 bad races. I really hope Reddick makes it into the playoffs. I've been really impressed with his performance the entire season. Bowyer to the broadcast booth would be awesome, especially if he is paired with Mike Joy and Jeff Gordon. Johnson's best shots to win are definitely Texas and Dover. Though I don't count anyone out on Daytona road course and Daytona Oval.
Dibenedetto has actually been pretty consistent this year throughout the year the problem is he has had good runs but has had some bad luck and hasn’t been able to finish out races as strong as he should
You completely missed the positives for Byron this season. He won the busch clash, he has had a ton of speed and always runs in the top 10 early I races. H has just had terrible luck with tires and loose wheels this year. He will improve and get that win.
Knaus is great but you gotta remember the 24 car is actually the 5 car. The 5 car has only won 6 times since 2009. That car has been an afterthought at Hendrick for quite a while.
I’m interesting to see which Cup Series drivers will make it to the playoffs this year? Obviously Hamlin and Harvick are the most dominant ones since they’ve won a lot of races this year. I’m surprised to see that Kyle Busch still hasn’t got a win in the Cup Series this year, he has 1 Xfinity win and 2 Truck Series win, but no Cup Series wins yet which is pretty weird. I wonder if he’ll get a win today soon. Hopefully I’ll see other drivers like Matt Dibenedetto and Tyler Reddick since they’ve been pretty good with most races so far when they both got 1 Top 5, and 4 Top 10s, can’t wait to see what happens to the both of them soon when it comes to the playoffs! I’m also curious to see what color the front splitter, windshield banner, and spoiler will be for the playoff stuff. I’d imagine it’d be blue, red, and yellow to go with the NASCAR logo. Hopefully I’m right on that. But anyways, can’t wait for the playoffs this year along with who will win the championship! 😃👍🏎🏁
I honestly feel like the whole Kyle Busch is winless thing is overblown. He's consistently a top 10ish car, so while he may not be a threat to win a championship this year, this isn't exactly a terrible year either. Especially considering the 18 team has never really been one to just show up at the track and instantly be the car to beat. They would get better over the weekend, and be a car to beat by the time the race started. It's a bit unreasonable to expect the same results when the circumstances are so different. It is fair to say it's a disappointment so far, but I don't think it should be a constant talking point either yet.
I think that not having qualifying or practice is having a negative effect on Byron and Jones. Since they have to start between 13 and 24 every week, they are way more vulnerable for something going wrong compared to if they were to start up front. They are in cars that can be at the front and since they need points. They have to be aggressive, but being too aggressive while mid-pack could bring a lot of issues.
Well the main thing is that if we account for just the stage when that he lost due to crashing and the 50 something point DQ at Charlotte, that's 60-65 points. That's not even accounting for the number of points he could have potentially gotten at Indianapolis, who knows it's possible he could have wrecked out and finished 40th but if we're being realistic he probably was going to get another 15th Place finish or better, with some stage points to supplement, let's say 25-30. That's 95-110 points he's sacrificed and that's being conservative. With that number of points he'd be higher than Almirola. They've clearly got a working formula it's just a matter of capitalizing more than a tech inspection fail or virus can...HENDR their performance
I still have a ton of faith in William Byron. Tons of misfortunate stuff has been happening and I don’t see it lasting much longer. I see Willy B making a solid run come playoff time. The speed is definitely there, it’s just hard to see if you’re not specificity watching him week in and week out like his fans do
You're right about Kyle Busch. If he can get some wins in the last 10 regular season races and get enough playoff points, he could easily make it to the championship 4. But if he keeps going down this route, he will possibly have a round of 12 playoff exit.
Kyle Busch will be fine its always a slump drivers go through before they get things clicking in the second half of the season. As for Jimmie Johnson I would say now is the time too get your foot on the gas and build some playoff points because if someone outside of that cutline weather that's Tyler Reddick Erick Jones or Bubba Wallace wins he would be in a world of trouble. Oh and can we look at the Xfinity playoffs too??
